"Awful (actually non-existant) communication ruins a potentially good transaction. Here is what went down:

1. 12/30/07 Placed order for motherboard on line
2. 12/30/07 Received e-0mail confirmation confirming unit was in stock.
3. 12/31/07 Called to increase quantity to 2. Was assured that they had 2 units in stock. I also had to have this purchase billed in FY2007 and was assured my credit card would be billed immediately.
4. 1/2/08 Credit card billed, not immediately as stated.
5. 1/14/08 Still no delivery. Checked order on their web site and it stated "customer notified" with a blank e-mail (they obviously had it and order status "on hold"
6. 1/14/08 Called and spoke actually to the same person who took my 2/31/07 call and cancelled order. They admitted the units were not in stock. Although polite, they had no explanation or apology.
7. 1/15/08 end of day, still no credit card credit. Had to e-mail them to get them to do this.
8. 1/15 later on credit card credit comes through.

You pay your money (they'll bill your credit card even if the items are not in stock, never mind have not shipped) and you take your chances (whoich are noit really that good.) Does it sound like this went OK? No. Do you think I'll ever use them again? No.

"I ordered a printhead for my wide format plotter for my business, and I needed it quick. I purchased the item on Friday January 11th, and I paid top dollar for FedEx overnight priority shipping plus I paid the additional ~$15 for 'express order processing'.

For days, their website would not show a tracking number. I called them on Tuesday, and some guy told me that my shipment would be here on Thursday.

It is now Thursday January 17th, and the tracking number now shows my item being delivered on Monday January 21st through UPS.

Assuming that it arrives this Monday, it will have taken this company 10 days to overnight me my printhead with 'express' order processing. On top of that, they didn't even use the carrier that I wanted.

Update: After posting this review I received a phone call from a manager. He apologized and refunded my shipping.

"I really enjoyed dealing with ComputerHQ. I first ordered a graphics card and found out through a call to my phone that they were out. I was apologized to and asked if there was another card or 2 that I would like instead. I gave them two options that would be just as good (diff manufacturers of 8800 cards), and they promptly found one of those.

I ordered them and everything was fine until I noticed the shipping invoice. Upon arriving in shipping the guy made a mistake and had my cards to arrive in 10 days instead of 3 (basic mix up of Fridays). I noticed this literally the DAY BEFORE it was supposed to be at my house. Called the rep and he was extremely helpful.

He cancelled that order and then sent out a new order with free overnight shipping.

I got the card at 9:30 am the next day in Alabama. The card was shipped from California!!

"Well what can I say, ComputerHQ sucks.
I ordered a computer case on the same day I ordered some 10 parts from mwave.com, 3 days later I receive a Confirmation Email from mwave and ComputerHQ......nothing.
It is now the Dec. 30 2007 thats 7 days later and I still don't have a tracking number, the website tells me there is NO tracking number and I regret every moment I even though of purchasing something from xxComputerHQxx. BLAH!!
I will wait another week for them to hand over that order and then I will never order again.

"Order still not received on 12-28-07. Called 3 times, spoke to staff 2 times and was assured it would be overnighted to me NLT 12-28-07. I would not have made purchased from this store if they were unable to get it to by 12-28-07. Staff unable to give me tracking # on my first or second call. Store closed for 3rd call. When time is important I will not buy from this store."

"Well, I was happy to find a pair of Mushkin Redline 1gb sticks at this retailer, and since I didn't see them anywhere else, I decided to take a chance. The one good thing I can say is that they were nice. They genuinely wanted to help. Unfortunately, the company is very poorly organized. I called in yesterday to ask why my order was still at the "shipped" status. They charged my card on the 4th. I was told to call back in tomorrow if my order status hadn't changed. It hadn't, and after spending about twenty minutes on hold today while they found the right sales associate, someone noticed that the item I had ordered had been out of stock for about a week, and their website was merely out of date. They said they would refund my card right away, so I HOPE that it is merely BoA not recognizing their return transaction right away. Website is a week out of date on quantity in stock? Not cool. They charged my card without even having the merchandise I ordered in stock? Way not cool.

Edit: Having received a call directly from the owner of ComputerHQ and found him to be extremely helpful and generous to boot, I have to restate how impressed I was with their service team. It's a small retailer, and if/when I make another order from this company (which I would happily do again, having experienced their service more completely), I will be phoning/e-mailing ahead to find out whether the product advertised is being shipped from their warehouse or from the manufacturer so I can be assured of availability. I understand the difficulties of keeping a large website up to date, and this instance seems to be partially the fault of Mushkin failing to notify their retailers of problems with their supply.

"This company is HORRIBLE to deal with. I placed an order early in October and became concerned after three weeks when the product didn't arrive. I called the company and they told me that I had been declined because my credit card did not have the same billing address as the shipping. Now, the GPS system I wanted to purchase was a gift for a friend's birthday. Needless to say my friend did not receive the gift he wanted. ComputerHQ could have easily contacted me to say that they can't ship outside of the billing address but instead they emailed me an order confirmation and let me just wait to find out that they couldn't ship it. And when I called them they kept transfering me without letting me know that I would be transfered leaving me to tell my story over about 6 times. Finally I canceled the order all together and bought from buydig.com (I'll let you know how that order turns out)."
