"This company does the "We need to upgrade your order so you may get the retail version" hard sell. My secretary phoned me on my short vacation to tell me they emailed about this very thing and I needed the motherboard upon my return. So I did it just to get it taken care of. Please don't get caught up in this scam. Just try one of the other retailers and avoid this type of marketing. Such as NewEgg, 3bTech or CPU Solutions. They are honest and whom I now use exclusivly. I did however try to give this company one more chance to show me there honesty. That resulted in them doing the very same thing. This time I had a chance to speak to the person who told me I needed this for a better warranty. The manufacturer warrants the item. He tried to side step this detail and persisted on the hard sell, at which time I camcelled the order. They must not have liked that. They went ahead and charged my credit card anyway. And it took me turning this over to my credit card company to get my money back for a product that had been cancelled and of course was never shipped. I believe they call that THEFT. PLEASE STAY AWAY. "

"While shopping for replacement motherboard on Pricewatch, placed order for new, BASIC AMD 64 motherboard, (since was to be just a drop-in replacement into my old box-HAD all the accrutements) first at a retailer called BZBOYZ.com. Order went well, but then 6 hours later, was called by them to inform me that "the OEM version was out of stock, how about the retail version for $35 more ?" . I rightly refused...BAD MOVE ! The funds in my bank tied up 3 days. 3 Days later,placed order at Compu-Terra, EXACT same Bait & Switch FRAUD! Not wanting to tie up my bank account for an additional 3 days, gave the OK for the $35 "Upgrade". I should have read the buyer comments for this "retailer" on Pricewatch feedback, as it was RIFE with this fraud by them.
NEVER again will I do business with this thief ! BUYER BEWARE !"

I ordered from you a few years ago and got thrown around for two weeks trying to track down an order that contained items you 'no longer carried', yet no one managed to call me about it. You then jacked up the price for a toned down version of the same thing and I waited another two weeks..

Fast forward a couple years, and here I am again. I place an order online and got ram PER YOUR SUGGESTION only to have you call me and tell me that it won't work, and I need to buy more expensive ram. Please stop holding my order 'in your warehouse' and mail it. I didn't get two day air so that I could get jacked around. I hope you can understand my frustration, and appreicate the fact that I will never use your services again. The discount isn't worth the bullsh*t.

These guys try to upsell you stuff!!! I called them back as their email requested. They tried to upsell me a "retail" version of a motherboard for 30 bucks more. I kept refusing and asking to cancel my order, and finally talked them down to giving me their retail version of the motherboard I orderded for the same price as I purchased it for. Apparently the one I purchased was OEM.
Everytime I called a guy named "Peter Smith" answered, even though it was obiviously different people each time.
I cancelled my order after debating with him about how many people named peter with indian accents worked there. It just seemed shady. I was afraid I wouldn't receive what I paid for."

"I wanted to upgrade an old computer with a 2GHz AMD, so I went to pricewatch and checked for sempron 2800+ (2gig clock speed) motherboard combos. Compu-terra had a low price and a 4 and half star rating. After placing order got an e-mail that they needed to confirm by phone. Finally made phone contact and listened to the hard sell about upgrades. Had a lot of problems understanding even what they were pushing because of the heavy Indian/Pakistanni accents and they wouldn't slow down. After several days of no change in the posted account status I called and they said it would be shipped that day. Next morning (6 Jul) status said shipped and received 8 Jul. MB, CPU and Fan worked fine. Ordered a stick of RAM from newegg on the same day and had it 3 days later. I probably saved only $5 by going to this unknown quantity. The reviews on this site had me really concerned and I'm glad I didn't need to return the item. To be fair, I got the parts and they worked. But I should not have to call the company twice on a simple, straight-forward order and it took too long to receive. In the future, I'll check reviews on this site first (although they seem a little pessimistic since most people would probably comment only if they have a gripe). Also, if any vendor takes the initiative to call about my order, I'll take the initiative to immediately cancel my order. This stupid tactic has "hassle" written all over it. Just fill the dang order!"

"I've only purchased from Compu-Terra once and I can say I will never purchase from them again. They were quick to take the order, and then call to upgrade the order. Slow to ship out the original order and when I had problems with the merchandise, they were far below what I would expect from a company I deal with. A return taking over 2 weeks and no invoice to show the upgrades I added over the phone leave me with no real way to prove I even made the upgades.

I'm very disappointed!!!"
