"First off, let me say that I've done a lot of on-line shopping over the last ten years, and I have a pretty good idea of how to avoid being scammed. One of the best ways is to always check out the current customer reviews of an on-line storefront right here at this website; it's an invaluable resource. But sometimes, after many good experiences, a person can become less than diligent, and in the interest of saving a few dollars, might order a product from a relatively unknown source, without bothering to follow the usual standard personal protocols ... and get burned.

The facts: I ordered a LG VX8300 extended battery and extended battery door early on the morning of September 15th. I received an e-mail containing the order details about seven hours later. I had selected guaranteed 3-day shipping.

Since the 15th was a Friday, I did not expect the product to ship that day; possibly on Monday or Tuesday of the following week. In my experience, it's not unusual for a business to take anywhere from 24-72 hours to process an on-line sale, following a standard route which normally includes an e-mail describing the initial purchase to the final shipping information being sent out to the end user. Hopefully, that last e-mail will contain a method to follow the package transit, such as a tracking number.

I did not expect anything to occur over the weekend, since many companies only process a purchase Monday-Friday. But even with that in mind, I still expected delivery of the package by no later than September 21st-22nd.

When I received nothing, I checked the status of the order at the website, which said the purchase was Paid/Unshipped. The following Monday and Tuesday, I attempted to contact the company by phone several times, but I was unable to speak to a customer representative ... no one would answer the phone, and no operator was at the switchboard; the whole process was automated, with each call being disconnected after being put on-hold for several minutes. I left a voice-mail asking for an updated order status report, and also sent an e-mail to the customer service department asking for information within 24 hours.

Afterwards, I came here to Reseller Ratings to check the reviews of the website, and became somewhat alarmed by what I read. After all, I knew better than to order a product from an unknown resource without coming here first, and that was my own mistake. And so, even though it was possible I was overreacting, I filed a complaint with the BBB in Southeast Florida, (due to the fact that the company was based in Miami Beach.) The evening of the 26th, I received an e-mail with an apology for the delay, with an update that stated the extended battery was ready to ship, but the extended battery door was on back order, and should be ready to ship by the end of the week.

I should state that I do not think that the BBB complaint had any effect on whether or not I received that e-mail, as according to the time and date of the e-mail header, it had actually been sent before I filed the complaint.

The next e-mail came on the afternoon of the 28th (Friday), showing that the current order status was completed, and both items had shipped. The on-line account order details also reflected the change in status, and went from Paid/Unshipped to Completed. But be advised ... this took two weeks to occur. Another e-mail came on the 29th, with a UPS tracking number, and the expected delivery shown as being the 2nd of October.

The shipment did arrive on the 2nd. It was delivered in a padded envelope by UPS, and curiously, there was no invoice. But ... the items were in good condition, and worked as advertised.

And so, in summation ... this time, I did not get burned. The company came through, and delivered the items. The price was reasonable, and the variety of accessories available at the on-line store are excellent. When the items were ready to ship, there was no problem with e-mail communication, which included a tracking number. That's the good part. The bad part was that for approximately eleven days, I had no idea what was going on, and when I began to worry, I couldn't get anyone on the phone. The e-mail messages were informative, but I think being forced to write the company to get an order status update shouldn't have been necessary on my part. And while the shipping was as promised (3 days), there was no way for me to know that the door was on back order, or that the item may have been on back order at the time of purchase, and the on-line store inventory did not reflect that possibility.

Will I order from them again? Probably not. As I stated in the e-mail I sent the company, "Customer relations are just as important as any other aspect of a business, in my personal opinion." If I had been kept advised of the situation as it occurred, I would have felt differently about this purchase. But I was left in the dark, and in these days of multiple on-line storefronts, with so many to pick and choose from, I consider that sort of planning and execution inexcusable.

"Slow shipping, ordered on February 23rd and it didn't ship until March 1st. I ordered a Motorola Stereo Headset Adapter (3.5mm to 2.5mm) for my LG VX8100 and it didn't work, even though it was listed as an accessory under the VX8100 category. I put in a Return Request to which I never got a response."

"I see that most of the problems with CellPhoneMall.net are “rapid-shipping” related. I know how frustrating it can be to have to wait for your goodies to arrive. Before paying big bucks for fast shipping, contact the vendor to insure they can ship pronto, (i.e. no back orders or long lead items).

As for support, I was very pleased with CellPhoneMall.net, I called them on the phone, I was very upset with a technical problem. The receptionist and the tech support guy put up with my complaints very professionally. Additionally, the tech support guy went above & beyond the call of duty to please me. It was obvious that my satisfaction was more important than their profit! They did what they had to do to get me up and running.

So, it seems to me as if they “got the message” and they are really working to give great service. I am a first time customer and would use them again.

"I am blown away by how horrible this place is. I received zero communication from them for a week after I placed my order (even after I emailed them to ask when it shipped).
Then, after a week had passed, I finally got notice that the order had shipped. They waited a week to ship!! When I complained about this I was told that I asked for their 4-6 business day shipping. Their site implies that it's 4-6 business day delivery, not shipping.
They made no effort to turn me into a happy customer, they simply apologized that I was unhappy.
Stay far, far away from this site.

"Ordered two data cables within weeks of each other, selecting regular postal mail delivery (estimated 5-6 days). Both times, received shipping confirmation emails a couple days later and received the products within a total of 4 to 5 business days after order placement. The second time, around X-mas holiday, I even noticed that they had shipped via priority mail at no extra charge. Now, the instructions (to use a cell phone as a modem with the cable) were not sufficient or possibly even accurate; and one of the provided drivers was for XP only without being noted as such. So I successfully Googled for how-tos. But from comments I saw when researching how to use a data cable this way and where to get one for an older cell phone model, it sounds like many vendors do not provide the drivers or any instructions at all. Anyway, I got what I ordered and got it fast. From my experience I'd recommend them."

"I ordered one cable on 6/15/2005 from this company and did not get any shipping info for a week. Emailed them and got a message saying the cable was on back order ETA one week. Emailed and asked if this was ETA to me or them and they never responded. Waited 2 weeks and emailed them. No response. Emailed them again today 7/11. Order status is still pending. They charged my credit card immediately when I ordered. Don't buy from these people. They do not deliver."

"I placed an order through www.cellphonemall.net on Feb. 14th as of today Feb. 28 their order status page lists the order as pending. They don't have a phone number listed and a search on the web did't turn one up. I have sent them 4 email notes asking if there is a problem and have had no responce. I would stay away from any vender that won't list a phone number."

"I bought a cell phone charger and holster. I was too charged immediately for my purchase. Then I got my package 3 days later in the MAIL! I paid for UPS ground 10.00 dollars. The mail cost about 1.00 to ship. THen my package only contained one product. Its been 1 day and no reply. I also did some snooping through different ways of Network utiliies and came up with 2 bogus phone numbers that non-english speaking people under the age of 20 answered. I even went as far to contact the site administrator who has not replied. I think we have abit of a scam here folks!! I will update in a few days. "

"I'm having the same problem as the previous poster. I ordered an item and paid extra for overnight shipping ($25 extra). My credit card was charged *immediately* -- but I never got any sort of confirmation e-mail or indication of when it would ship. As the previous poster noted, there is no way to contact them other than e-mail (a try at directory assistance, using their name & the address they post on their site provides a number for another off-line merchant in no way affiliated with cellphonemall.net). I have sent numerous e-mails, begging for information on my purchase; begging for some confirmation that it was shipped; begging merely for confirmation that they were receiving the e-mails! But I have heard nothing. I needed this item within 3 days, which is why I paid extra for the overnight shipping. Since three days have passed, I sent another e-mail demanding that they cancel my order and credit the total price back to my credit card; I even promised legal action if they did not make the refund within 24 hours (generous, I thought, since they took the money in the first place in about 24 *seconds*). And still I have heard nothing. I am FURIOUS. This was not a large purchase (about $155, including the overnight shippins), but it was big enough. And that's MY money which I work hard for. I wish I had found the previous posters comments BEFORE I ordered from cellphonemall.net! Any suggestions on immediate and effective action I can take would be appreciated. I don't want this item in two or three months -- in fact, I don't want it from them at all. I'd rather spend my money at a reputable, non-fraudulent company."

"I ordered two items on 12/10/02. My credit card was billed immediately for both. The web site noted only that the order was "pending". On 12/18/02 I sent an email asking for the status of my order. The response was a terse email indicating my order had shipped in two packages and should arrive in 5 business days. There was no indication of what day the order shipped. In other words, this left me with the question of, "5 business days from when?" On 12/26/02, one item was actually shipped and arrived a few days later. Around 1/22/03 I sent another email (the only apparent way of contacting them) asking about the second item. I got back an email on 1/24/03 that said only, "charger shipped". No indication of when it had shipped. A second terse email received on the same day included the phrase, "backorder released". Several days later, a package did arrive but it contained a duplicate of the first item I received--not the second item I had ordered. I sent another email to them in early February complaining about this, and they responded 2/6/03 with a note indicating that my second item had shipped and that I was free to keep the duplicate item they had sent me. The second item did finally arrive--2 months and much hassle later."
