"you should look at other merchants before purchasing from here. I bought the lowest price emachines computer and got what I paid for. It did not have some software which I am forced to buy online, the mouse was heavily scratched and there were no speakers. I am sorely disappointed in having to purchase software that came with every emachines new. they said they would take it back (at paypal request only) but still I have to pay 15% restocking fee. Don't buy here. Don't bother calling either, they are Chinese that don't seem to speak much english."

"I couldn't find a good laptop in my price range until I stumbled on CedarPC... I didn't know if I should trust it or not (seeing how cheap all their items are). Decided to try it anyway. Got my laptop within 3 days. Expected it to be scratched up, dented and all that... It looks brand new! Perfect condition! Works amazingly. I still can't believe it. Highly Recommend!"

"POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. I bought a hard drive from them, which turned out to be just the inside of the hard drive(looks like a mother board) and when I tried it on my laptop, the power part is not compatible with my laptop. I've tried to get it replaced or swapped, they said it's my fault I bought the wrong item and that I should have done my research before buying it. WELL CEDARPC, HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO KNOW THAT YOUR 1.8 SATA HARD DRIVE IS NOT COMPATIBLE WITH MY LAPTOP WHICH TAKES 1.8 SATA HARD DRIVE. Atleast I bought the right item!! I was put in touch with this lady name Tea, which in the begining seemed to want to help me. At the end, she could not find a hard drive that will fit my system or just the connection. I had no choice but to RMA the item. Before RMA, I told her that I should not be charged restocking fee and argued my case with her. She then told me that, she will not charge me re-stocking fee this time only. I RMA the drive and 10 days later, I got my refund - $10 shipping(it does not cost $10 to ship a 2 oz drive) and $5.50 restocking fee(WHAT!!). She said she was not going to charge me restocking fee. Lets do the math. The drive cost $35, I paid $10 for shipping for a total of $45. Then when I RMA it, I paid 4.75 to ship it to them(non-refundable). and they charged me 5.50 for re-stocking(WHAT THE HELL IS THIS!). At the end, they got their hard drive back and I'm $20.25 in the hole and no hard drive. WHAT A RIP OFF. YOU ARE IN BUSINESS IN RIPPING PEOPLE OFF. Oh yeah, I've tried calling this Tea lady numerous times and left numerous messages for her and no response. Finally I made one last call and someone else told me that Tea said I will not get the re-stocking fee money back and that she only promise to approve the RMA(WHAT!!). why do I need your permission to RMA the item when I was well within the RMA timeline. LIARS AND CON-ARTISTS. Don't trust anything this Tea lady has to say AND DON'T BUY ANYTHING FROM THEM."

"DOA item. Their "Order Confirmation / Thank You" email went successfully to my inbox, but the RMA (return) instructions email went to spam folder with instructions saying that if the item was not received back by them in 10 days the RMA request would expire. As stated in their policy, no shipping was refunded, but the cost of the item was refunded in a timely manner."

"Ordered an emachines desktop here due to the price. It arrived in 3 days. Listed as grade "B", it had slight scratches as it would have if I'd used it for a year, which was good since I'd expected maybe worse. Everything seems to work well so far. It does not have Emachines recovery; not being an expert I backed up a system image and hope that is similar."

"I ordered a Dell XPS 8300 desktop computer from CedarPC online on December 6th, and was initially impressed by the price, and the speed at which it was shipped out. I regularly purchase (3-4 PCs per year for personal and business) Dell laptops and desktops from their Outlet site, some of which are classified as Refurbished, others which are Scratch and Dent.

Based on the information provided by CedarPC (Item Condition: Dell Certified Refurbished in Retail Box, and Condition Grade: A), as well as the high-resolution photos, I was certain that the pc ordered was going to be refurbished and in “like new” condition. In fact, the high resolution photo provided by CedarPC shows a perfect Dell XPS 8300 with protective plastic on the front bezel.

When the computer arrived via UPS, the box was in perfect condition, and it was still factory sealed from Dell. As a result, I was surprised to see scratches and blemishes on the computer, including the front bezel which had no protective plastic wrapping. The computer was meant to be a Christmas gift, and while I was willing to accept a few minor blemishes, there were at least two deep cuts – one in the top plastic bezel, and another that went through the paint down to the metal on the side panel.

Shortly after opening the package I called the Chantilly store, where I was immediately put on hold for 25 minutes and hung up on. I tried calling back but there was no answer, the phone just rang and rang.

I knew that customers could submit an RMA request online, but my purpose in calling was to see what could be done about an exchange, or what suggestions CedarPC might have.

My biggest concern was that there was a limited supply of these computers – only 6 left after my initial order. I called CedarPC twice on the next business day but got no answer. Called twice more on the next day, again with no answer either time.

The following day I finally spoke to a representative, Chi Nguyen, who asked me to send photos of the scratches on the PC, which I did. I also discussed with him the fact I was concerned about the limited quantities, and that by the time the computer was returned for exchange, there might not be any units left to exchange with. When I sent the photos, I asked that Chi to set aside one of those units still available, open the box to inspect the item, and use that one for the exchange.

The photos were reviewed by Chi, and the RMA was approved. I sent the PC out the next day, it arrived at CedarPC two days later. I called for an update on the afternoon of the following day and was told that the RMA has not been processed yet - okay. I finally received a response regarding the RMA five days later, when Chi sent an email outlining their “Grading” policy, stating that "all computers have scratches", and notified me that a refund would be issued as all units were now gone... big surprise.

I was charged for shipping both ways, but not a restocking fee. So I only paid $63 for a big headache and no item in the end - a pretty good deal. I asked if there was a manager I could talk to about my complaints and was given an email address for Tea Doan. I sent her a detailed email explaining the situation and my concerns - no response. Thanks CedarPC!

"I ordered a T-Mobile Hotspot from them at significantly below market costs (about 33% off) and less than half of retail. There was a problem with the first unit they sent but they gave me an RMA and replaced it with a good one."

"Hemmmm, careful here - CEDAR PC sold me a used item without describing the item as used.
I purchased a NEW router from them in May 2012 - it arrived opened, scratched and not factory default for accessing the router settings. It was obviously a used router, demo or customer return but it was not described as such on their web listing. Luckily I paid via paypal and paypal is very good at supporting customers who don't get what they paid for. After a short run around with CEDAR PC (where they argued about the sale terms) they agreed to refund my money if I returned the item. I'm returning the item and will continue to escalate with paypal if they don't refund my money.

"They are idiots!!! They don't even speak English very well... extremely hard to understand them! They state one thing on their website and tell me another. They have an item listed on ebay with a quantity of 5 available and even their website (cedarpc.com) lists the same quantity. However, when I called to make the purchase the sales rep puts me on hold for 5mins to look for the items… comes back on the line saying they could only find 2 items! LOL what a joke!

How do they do any business!!?? POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!!

"I have bought 6 computers from them and I have been VERY please with the price and condition of the machines I purchased. I have not had a problem other than one machine having a hard drive fail. But hard drives are like tires. They fail and it is to be expected now and again. I returned one item and again had no issues.

If you have a problem with purchasing used equipment that is by definition more prone to failure than new equipment, and not warrantied for more than 30 days, then don't buy used equipment. Period. It is a crap shoot. Be prepared to take a hit every once in a while.

"~From A Reluctant Customer~
When I buy something, I spend a TON of time researching on the internet. I do this for two reasons- 1. I've been burned in the past and 2. I don't have much of a life. CedarPC had a very specific model of netbook I was looking for because I wanted to have long battery life while I edited my manuscripts. They had this netbook at WAY below what other people were charging so I was like,"Hmmm I probably will pay them and it will never come and I'll complain about it to all my friends for a week and then they will all be like STFU and abandon me." I have trust issues. I wanted this netbook so bad that I decided to take the risk. I placed the order last week. I got the netbook in 3 days in like new condition. I mean, I couldn't believe it. I thought that it would be a visibly pre-owned certified refurbished netbook. This thing looks brand new. Some ungreatful spoiled tween must have owned it before me because there are zero signs of wear. Honestly, the whole transaction was great. I'm going to need a spare battery so I'm going to check CedarPC to see if they have them. They've won a customer in me. ~t. james reagan.

"I purchased a desktop from them as a Christmas gift. They sent it and it arrived 2 days before. We set it up, turned it on, and the windows screen would not start up. We turned it off, waited a few minutes, turned it on again, no windows. We turned it off a third time, when we turned it back on we hit F10 so that we could restore it to factory settings. When that came up, we ran it through the steps. When that was done, it went to the windows start page, however, we got no new user setup. We turned it off for the day thinking that it had corrected itself. The next morning, we turned it back on only to get a black screen. We turned it off, turned it back on. I finally contacted CedarPC and requested a replacement. The approved my RMA request. I sent it back, they sent me a replacement. When the replacement got here, it did the exact same thing as the first machine. I didn't have any more patience with this, so I asked for a return shipping label, and a refund. My second RMA was approved, I sent the second machine back. I did get a refund, however they deducted the 15% as a restocking fee saying that there was nothing wrong with the item. This is a huge scam on their part, sending machines that don't work and making money by charging a restocking fee....$45 a pop! HIGHLY RECOMMEND NOT BUYING FROM THEM."

"I found a good price on a pc part so I thought I'd give Cedar PC a chance. I also told a friend of mine about the good price I got, so he also took a look around there and bought a different item. We both had our orders cancelled. My advice would be, if their inventory says they only have a few of something left, assume they have none. They did send out the cancellation notice within 24 hours, which I did appreciate, but I won't be returning to cedarpc.com and I definitely won't be recommending them to any more friends. "
