"I've been dealing with casemod quite some time now , in all these months i've made numerous orders and they never screw up once , from time to time i did find some item backordered but with just sending an email i've got it changed or cancelled with a refund pretty quick , no never-ending-passin to another employee-expensive calls , so overall great service!!

"Well this is my first time purchasing from this site.I will update this review as it progress since i have not received the item yet. I felt the need to say a few things. 1.) if you are looking for a site to order from that responds to your emails where your orders are concerned the i DON'T RECOMMEND this site. I am use to dealing with ordering online and if something goes wrong with the order to be able to call a number or get fast email responses. Not from these guys. I made an order on monday of this week, i ordered 4 memory heatsinks and the aeromaster fan controller, well they got the money from my card very fast but i got and email from them the next day stating the heatsinks from the memory card are no longer in stock. So i kindly asked for a refund of that with shipping since they already charged my account for the money and for them to send the cooler. Now things get interesting, i got no response and when i check my order on their site it still says pending, they got my money already and it still says pending. this was tuesday, and now its thursday and it still says pending, i have emailed them numerous times and only got 1 response saying they will refund the money for the heatsinks but nothing else, nothing about when will my controller ship or anything, and there is no refund pending on my account. I will give them a few more days before i contact my credit card company on this matter. Out of all the years ihave been ordering online this is the WORST expierence i have ever had. Customer service here sucks and i wont be recommending anyone to buy from them. When you are dealing with peoples money you should offer them prompt customer service. I am very uneasy on the fact that i havent received my item or refund but they charged my card already. Now if someone from their site feels the need to comment on this all i have to say is this, YOU SHOULD LEARN TO UPDATE THE ORDER STATIS ON YOUR SITE MORE FREQUENTLY, AND RESPOND TO EMAILS MORE PROMPT.


UPDATE

Shortly after writing this it seems the order page was updated. Now it shows refunded for what was not in stock and what was in stock as shipped and there is a tracking number. AS i said before it seems the only problem with these guys seem to be the lack of prompt response time with sales and customer service, will give final update when i receive the item.


Update #2 4/28/08

Got the item this morning through usps priority mail. I am just happy to have my item and i got the refund of the item they didnt have in stock. Would i purchase from them again .. probably not. the lack of communication and no number for you to call and reach them does not sit well with me and i wish i had done my research before ordering from them. If you dont care about responses from customer service or updates on your order status then by all means this is the place for you. But if you like to be on top of your order at all times like me this stay away.

"I have purchased computer parts for years and have been having problems with dishonest resellers and their scams and rebates! if you think rebates are saving you money i suggest thinking about it a bit more and actually figure it out then you will know that you are being had. anyway... i was looking for a specific psu and a search brought me to CaseMod.com. they had, by far, the best price on the CoolerMaster 850 psu which just happens to be one of the best psus ever made. this price was a full $60 less that a certain egg mail order joint and i didn't have to waste time for rebates and wait 3 months to get the money... maybe! they just had great price... while there i found a couple of other things i figured, what the hey... ill try them. i figured they were cheap and low quality but $2.99 for a 120mm fan was worth a try. i also got a cpu cooler that was on sale. i was crossing my fingers thinking the prices seem too good to be true. they use FedEx and i got the stuff on the third day even though i placed the order later in the day... fast shipping too?!

needless to say i have been elated with the stuff i got. the psu i knew was great but i wondered if it was missing things or if it was refurbished or some other bs but it was brand new shiny and wonderful. the fan was not the quietest but it is quieter than my old hard drives! i cant hear the psu or the fan over the hard drives :-) the cpu cooler i got just for experimental stuff i do. it is too much of a pain to use h2o sinks so i will use this instead.

so lets add it up: they had the best prices on excellent products and got them to me faster than i have ever seen. the only problem was that a keyboard i ordered was backordered and i thought they were in stock but that happens. i just wish they had more stuff... i can guarantee i will buy from them again... in fact they are my preferred reseller for the stuff they have now. i hope they will stay away from the rebate scam and continue to give great products and excellent prices.

the more we support honest, quality resellers the more long term benefits we will realize. i would rather support

"Ordered (2) dual ccfl tubes. I noticed they are local and is about 30 minute drive! Decided to just order it online to save some hasstle. On the order form, I asked for 1 day shipping. It took 3 days to get to my house. Should've just went and pick it up. That is the only down side of this transaction. But overall, product is okay. Nicely package. Too big for the item itself. Would give it about 7 out of 10"

"Worst internet experience ever. Always make sure a company lists their phone number on their website. Call that number to make sure there's a person on the other end.

First shipment was shipped to Tennessee instead of Michigan! That's despite me emailing them the day the shipping notice was first sent out. 1 month and 10 days later, I finally have my entire order.

Horrid customer service response (or should I say LACK of response)

You're better off going to FrozenCPU or CrazyPC!

"Very impressed... I was leary about how long it would take the items to ship (due to previous comments on resellerratings), but the item shipped the day after purchase & card processing.

3 days later (!) the items showed up... I was very impressed with the selection and speed of Case-Mod. For reference, I purchased a Scythe Ninja Rev.2 CPU cooler, AC Accelero VGA cooler, and a tube of AC MX-2 thermal compound.

Based on my experience, I would highly recommend this retailer!

"I ordered an item on the 2-5-08 that was supposedly in stock, but despite their claims to ship out nearly all orders within 48 hours, it's now the 8th and it's still listed as pending. My credit card has already been charged. No response from them to my e-mails two days ago asking them to either ship or immediately cancel and refund. If this takes any longer, I won't have any other option but to ask my CC company to reverse the charge.

It's sad to see a good shop go bad; I had no hassle whatsoever with these guys when I bought an $100+ case from them a couple of years ago.

Edit [2-11-08] - So the item actually arrived at my house today...but it's still listed as Pending on their website and still no reply to my e-mail inquiry. I'm changing my rating because it did arrive in an acceptable amount of time, and I don't like giving out bad ratings unless it's truly deserved (i.e. no item received period). But they could have avoided a lot of annoyance on the part of their customers (judging from the neg ratings below) if they did a better job of communicating.

Interestingly, the From address on the package is the manufacturer's address...not Case-Mod.com's. I wonder if this was drop-shipped direct from the manufacturer and Case-Mod.com didn't actually stock it...

"The Case Fan on my desktop died and I was looking for a replacement. Unfortunately I did not do any research before buying from Case-Mod. I placed my order some time Wednesday afternoon. I selected Priority Mail(2-3 days) as my delivery option. I received the confirmation email a short while later, but that was it. For a company that prides itself on shipping all orders within 48 hours, I find it odd that as of Monday 2/4 my order had not shipped. well I assume that it hadn't shipped because I haven't heard anything back since that time. After reading about the company, on here, and other places, I sent an email asking for some confirmation, and stating that "IF my order has been shipped, please provide me with the tracking information, IF my order has not shipped yet, please cancel it." Several hours later I received an email saying that my order has been canceled. Whether this actually means that it didn't ship, or if I will have to deal with sending the merchandise back, I dont know. All I can say, is don't waste your time or energy with this company. Even if you think you are getting a deal, it isn't worth the hassles, look elsewhere."

"I would just like to tell everyone not to buy from this company. Case-Mod.com has the most horrible customer service i have very experienced. I ordered a Logitech G7 gaming mouse on Friday January 4, 2008 and the money was taken out right away from my account, so in this case my order should be processed but it wasnt so i waited till next week on tuesday the 8th and my order was still pending, and they emailed me saying it should be shipped on monday the 7th. so i tried to email them several times with no response. then on thursday i emailed them to cancel my order and refund my money then i got an email saying that the logitech G7 mouse was going to arrive in their warehouse the next day which was Friday.... This whole time they didnt even have the product in stock and nowhere on their website did it state that and i even emailed them asking if it was in stock. they never replied. but i did get my money back i just wish i have never bought it from here or i would have had that mouse by now from another company. You have been warned!! "

"On 1/3/08 I ordered a Scythe CPU cooler. On the same day, I was sent an e-mail saying the cooler was being shipped US parcel post and would take from 4 to 7 days.

Having read the recent negative reviews I became anxious as the days went by with no update on my order at their site from the status of "Pending", and no tracking number.

On 1/11/08 the package was waiting in my mailbox for me 4:30pm. It had been sent via USPS Priority Mail and arrived in good shape. Three hours later I received an e-mail with the tracking number and a notice that the status of my order had been changed to "Shipped".

Yes, it's too bad they don't have a phone and don't answer e-mails, but at least they came through in the end for me. I'm happy.

"This website is terrible. I order 1 mouse on Sunday 1/6/08. It is now Thursday 1/10/08 and still no response from the 2 emails I sent them. I am learning that the cheapest price isn't always best, instead stick with reliable websites like NEWEGG.COM or TIGERDIRECT.COM. They might not be the cheapest, but the ship their products fast and keep their customers updated on their orders. Something this website does not know how to do.

Update: 10/12/08 I got an email saying the item was discontinued and my money was being refunded. What a waste of time, I looked at there website yesterday and it was still selling the item. This website dropped the ball here, when I have a good experience with a reseller, I return to them for other business needs. This company lost a lot of money and will continue to do so until it takes care of its customers!

"The first warning about this company is that THEY DO NOT PROVIDE A CONTACT PHONE NUMBER. If you call the number on the credit card statement, no one answers. This is a prime trait of a company dealing in illegal practices. What are they afraid to hide? Can you name any one retail store on the up and up that you cannot call? What are they afraid of hiding? Did all their stock, "Fall off the truck"? Do they not speak English? Are they laundering money for organized crime or something?

In the course of my order this company has not answered a single email from me. Not one. There has only been one automated update on the site telling me my order would be shipped a faster rate, but no updates as to where my order is, if the item is even in stock anymore, what's going on. Nothing. No updates, no contact, no order received.

Be extremely wary ordering from this company. No phone number is provided. Their practices smack more of a retail looking to rip off the customer than to serve them.

Update as of 1/7/08: As of this moment Case-mod has finally done something regarding my case. They have sent me a tracking number and have sent the package with next-day FedEx as their automated email said they would. My order status has now changed to shipped. The email I received is still an automated one and I have yet to receive an email from a human being replying to my emails. I will update the review further upon the receipt of equipment.

Update - 1/8/08 - The product arrived. Rather than placing the item in a larger box for shipping and sending it the seller simply slapped a label on the manufacturer's box and sent it out the door. Luckily, the original box does appear to be packaged and meant for shipping. However when I open it I find that I have been sent the wrong item! The item I ordered comes in black and silver. It clearly shows in my order that I ordered the silver, but I was instead sent the black instead. I doubt this will ever be resolved and I suppose I will simply live with the black, even though it won't really match my case anymore.

A final note. It's very sad this order went this way. The seller could have made good on this order though simple communication. Non-communication have made this company one of the worst companies I have ever dealt with. With service like this, Case-mod doesn't deserve to be in business, their staff is unfit to work, and at this rate will be populating the lines at soup kitchens before long.
