Most horrible service

"They allowed me to book a convertible car with a rental company that does not even have convertible segment. FALSE advertising. They charged me $400 and made me pay $50 penalty, when it's totally their fault. Also, it's been 2 months and I have been waiting for my refund. So they STOLE my money. To the cheap founders and CEO of carrentals and expedia, you are liars and bunch of petty crooks. People like you are gutter scum. NEVER EVER EVER EVER EVER book with carrentals.com or expedia "

Awful experience Unreliable info

"Website had incorrect telephone for Nucarrental in San Juan PR no one answered when I was trying to call to advise flight was delayed to confirm my reservation. Got there and had no car available for me and was charged a fee for no show. Had to rent somewhere else! Such a hassle. "

Never never never rent a car with CarRentals.com

"Taking advantage of the prepay discounts offers you no option to cancel after you have paid. One you lock in you are fully committed. If you ever have a change in plans and need to cancel after renting with CarRentals.com
consider your payment a donation to CarRentals. They are professional at making you feel like a sucker - tried to use them for convenience while traveling for business but needed to change my plans to accommodate a client and CarRentals was an added cost that did nothing but complicate the process. I highly advise not using this service to avoid the unnecessary and unreasonable frustration.

Two women stranded at Midnight

" What an awful experience with car rentals.com! First, they said the car rental place was at the airport...NOT. We waited for a shuttle for 45 minutes that never came. We finally get to the car place and it was closed! Website said "open 24 hours". And customer service was of NO help!! NEVER AGAIN WILL I USE THIS SITE!"

Hate to be cheated

"I booked through CarRentals.com. Their system screwed-up resetting fields with wrong information. I called in the next 30 seconds. They refused to cancel and obliged me to take a new reservation to replace the wrong one or to pay $100 penalty. I created and paid a new reservation. They never reimbursed the initial reservation and stopped responding to my email. "

WORST SERVICE

"My order at carrentals didn't passed at all - not Economyrentacar's fault.
I had a vacation at punta Cana, Dominican republic, I planned everything till I came to rent a car with your company and all my perfect vacation changed.

After arriving at the airport I wanted to take the car I have ordered from economy company via your site, for my surprise, they didn't head about my order and told me that I needed to pay more 250$ (plus the 72$ I already paid on carrentals site for the insurance) and they told me that is the basic package, and I can't take the car unless I will pay this amount -
this amount is not close to the amount i needed to pay by the carrentals site calculation -
about 60$ - something they called loyabily tax and more weird staff i was so tired after my flight of 15 hours.

To the biggest part, they wanted 2000$ deposit from my Visa to hold for the car rental.
carrentals site told my I will pay 133$ at the confirmation including everything! (insurance and car).

I wasn't prepared for 2000$ deposit, and not for 250$ car rental addition price.
I had trouble to pay for my hotel because all my visa was stuck with 2000$ - i paid with cash to the hotel (571 usd).
now do your calculation - that leaved me without any cash money or availability to withdrawal money from ATM at the vacation !!

you have ruined my vacation.

Worst car rental ever, charged for a car that I never got, no refund, terrible customer service.

"CarRentals.com flipped the location for return that I had entered on their website, when I went to pickup the car there was an additional $89 charge for a one way rental, I ended up renting a car for less than the extra charge from another vendor. After dealing with the nearly non-existent customer service I was never granted a refund for the car that I did not rent. I will never do business with them again, what a rip off."

FEELS LIKE THIS APP IS RUN BY SOMEONE IN THEIR MOTHER'S BASEMENT

"Impossible to ever talk to somebody and emails go continuously unanswered literally for more than 24 hours I can response gives you once you email them but again they never reply and it's all can response.
I am picture the person running this app as living in his mother's basement in his pajamas lots of acne.
DO NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE TO USE THIS APP

Terrible had no cars at the Hertz they confirmed with me for a 1 way trip to the airport

"Confirmed and reminded by carrentals.com that there would be a car from Ft. Pierce Fla. to West Palm Airport 1 way drop off on 8/15. Went to get the car and there was none available for the day. The stress of trying to find a ride and making the flight was unbelievable. We paid over $150.00 for a cab when carrentals.com had me confirmed at $60. They should reimburse us every penny for the inconvenience and double that we paid it was a nightmare."

"I hve never had such a bad experience renting a car paid for an acadia was offered a mr. bean car. Had to pay an extra 150 to get an escape in the end what a joke I want my money back but no customer service phone number"

Never again

"I couldnt get the car I booked because of credit card name mismatch,they showed 0 flexibilty as I accepted the terms of conditions..they dont provide any refund from the rental cost though they can rent the car as i was not allowed to get it. dont choose this company rather pay a bit more. I am very dissatisfied!"

charged twice for one car

"They charged me two different amounts for one car. Also charged me two different international transaction fees. I'm not traveling out of the country. I wish I had read everyone else's experiences it would have saved me from loosing almost $800. From what I see I most likely won't get it back. "

DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT IT!!!! IT'S A SCAM!!!

"Rented a car for a 2-week vacation in Budapest 4 months ahead of time. It was a "PAY NOW" special, so I pre-paid $526 for the reservation. When I got to the place, (Schiller Rent-a Car) they informed me they had NO pre-pay type of contract with this broker. They asked for a $1,800 deposit placed on my account and provided me with a car. They also said they would look into the "pre-payment" situation. When I returned the car, I had to pay 449 Euros, which is about $500. So I paid twice for the same rental. They said I needed to contact Carrentals.com for a refund. As mentioned in other reviews, there is no phone number. I emailed them and have been waiting for 2 weeks to resolve with zero results. I was forced to file a fraud claim thru my bank. I am hoping to get my money back, but I might be out $526. Don't risk it!!!! Go with a different broker!!!!! By the way, Carrentals.com is an Expedia affiliate according to their website. Perhaps that says something about Expedia too!!!"

Terrible customer service / Predatory

"This is the absolute worst experience I've had with a third party rental reservation company. I asked to move my reservation up by four hours, if there's availability, and they quoted me at 50% of the rate I was given for four days. Like ok, I'll wait around for 4 hours until my rental because that's absolutely absurd. On top of it, the customer service agent was aggressive and rude and obviously didn't care what my situation was. "

1 star is even too much

"I booked a car through car rentals for advantage car. i booked a rav 4 or equivalent and pre paid because that was supposed to guarantee me the car i paid for. when i got to pick up location, they said no more cars even though i prepaid. i waited 3 hours to get a car and they gave me a toyota camry lol. They told me that i can take it or leave it because thats all they have right now. cool i took the down grade. Now time to get a refund for the downgrade , car rental tells me that they cant help me that i have to contact advantage . advantage says i booked through car rentals and car rentals have to sort it out for me. None of them is taking responsibility for this issue. if i booked through a website am sure the website should have a communication with the companies it advocates for. but no they would rather pass me around. Terrible!!... never book through this third party company. always go straight directly to the company you buying from because any issues you would be passed around in circles"
