I'll keep it simple: I sent in my iPod and it took a month to get my money. I had to constantly cajole the owner to get any progress on the status of my order. After waiting patiently for weeks, I had enough, and posted a one-star review suggesting BuyMyPod.com was a scam, which up to that point I had every reason to believe. The owner finally sent me my money through PayPal (+1 star) and gave me the full value of my iPod (+1 star).
I am completely open to the possibility that times are tough for this small business, given the pandemic and recent civil unrest. (2020 has been rough!) But after reading other reviews, I'm convinced the owner is just barely scraping by and relies on some of his customers to forget they ever sent him their electronics. It's the simplest explanation for the constant delays I experienced.
To his credit, every time I got in touch, he promptly responded and said things would get done. But when push came to shove, I only got my money once I posted a bad review. It wasn't a fun experience for me, and I imagine it wasn't fun for BuyMyPod either.
If you have a really old iPod that you don't use anymore, you can get decent money for it through BuyMyPod. But in my judgment, it isn't worth the hassle and uncertainty. I wouldn't do business with them again."
"I have sold old electronics online before. I usually sell to Gazelle but they were going to give me nothing for my iPod whereas "Buy my Pod" was going to give me $21 so I decided to go with them. I mailed my iPod in almost new condition (had a few scratches on the back) and my tracking shows it was received by them on 12/30/2019. Online it says they will issue payment within 24 hours. Well, it is now 1/21/2020 and I still have not received payment. I have reached out to "Matt" via the texting number online numerous times. He had told me my iPod was only worth $8 upon receiving it and that he would get my check sent out right away but that was weeks ago. I reached out to him again about my check and he instantly sends me $8 through apple pay. I don't use apple pay; hence why I requested a check as form of payment when I filled out the online quote. I would not use this company again or suggest any one else to do the same. "
"This company is not professional in the slightest. They offered me 40 bucks for my iPod, yet now it’s 27? And the way of communication is through text message? How unprofessional. They are extremely hard to get ahold of. I just want answers. It has also taken extremely long to receive payment. The 24 hours is a lie they use to rope you into fast cash. And will say they’re working on, just another hour. Lie. I would look for another way to sell your device. There’s tons of websites/companies that do the same thing and I’m sure there’s better ones out there as well. "
