"I ordered a Nikon Coolpix 5700 using the 800 number. The order was taken by Kevin who was extremely helpful. After one round of turning down suggestions for additional items he placed the order.

On Friday I received an email that it was shipped and the camera arrived via FedEx on Monday. Everything was as promised and went extremely smoothly. I would not hesitate to order from them again,

"Living in Oregon, but expensive and the merchants here keep it that way by selling everthing for List price. But with sellars like Buy Dig, we out here in PAC. N.W., can buy at a great savings and still have great service! A++ for BuyDig, this is my second purchase from them with a great price and outstanding delivery. I wouldn't hesitate to buy any big ticket electronic item from them at all. The Olympus C8080 I just bought is Perfect. :)"

"I purcahsed a canon rebel digital. Order was fine, however 3 (minor) problems.

1.) They have a heavy sales pitch on the phone when you call to confirm the order. This is fine, as I did purcahse the warranty extension as I am clumsy and this camera is plastic and I would break it.

2.) They don't have an automated way of tracking the orders online so you have to call to track status

3.) It takes 24-48 hours to 'prepare the order' i forget the term they use for it, but other companies can ship in 24 hours and do same-day shipping if you order before 3pm.

I would order again.

"Ordered a Canon 10D camera 1-16-2004, they called 1-20-04 to "verify" I said I didn't want to buy anything else,he said it was in stock and get it out right-away. I E-Mailed,no answer, I called 3 times, last time 1-26-04 and was told the 1 they had in stovk was "defective" and it would be 2 weeks to get another. This is a "bait & switch"business. STAY AWAY. "Bad overall experience! Would not think of buying from them again!
Ordered on a Wednesday, Paid for next day shipping, and camera did not even ship the next day. I called ( Thurs ) to verify shipment, and got a salesman pushing accessories, went ahead and ordered lens filter kit to be shipped with camera.
Camera shipped on Friday, and arrived on Monday without filter kit. Camera box was shipped inside of a larger box with no additional packing to take up extra space.
Checked camera operation, and did not find any any obvious damage.
Called to find out what happened to the lens kit, and also to inquire about a shipping credit.
I was assured that I would receive the filter kit and a $10 shipping credit by Wed, or Thurs.
Friday--No filters--No credit!
Called Again! Was told filters would ship the following Tues, and shipping credit would be issued to my credit card.
Cancelled filter kit, and I am now wainting for both shipping, and filter credit!
10 days for a lot of B.S!

"I bought a Sony TRV33 camcorder from this merchant. I was initially attracted to them because of their low price on this model. After checking various review sites, i decided to give them a try. The good news... I received the item in perfect condition about a week after ordering. I would have really liked an order tracking system online since the hold time for customer service was more than 15 minutes, all three times that I called. I also got the standard accessories pitch by phone which anoys the heck out of me. Something about this camera catching on fire when charging... whatever. I didn't buy any accessories. They were vague about when the item would ship. It was always in stock, but was told originally it would ship on Thursday, then Friday. It finally shipped on Monday. They did upgrade me to Fedex 2 day... something I didn't ask for, and it definitely was a nice gesture. Overall, the hold time, vagueness of shipping date lack of order tracking and annoying accessories pitch can be overlooked by the good prices, upgraded shipping for free and reasonable shipping costs. I'd shop here again if their price was tough to beat. "

"After reading through various ratings for different companies, I decided to give buydigitaldirect.com a try. I was shopping around to purchase a Sony Mavica cd500 digital camera. I found that buydigitaldirect had the right mixture of low price and high rating. I called to place my order instead of ordering over the internet since I wanted to make sure my order got done quickly. I called soon after they opened Friday morning and got through quickly. The salesman went through informing me about the various different products that went with it, but I didn't need them and we moved right along. I got Next Day Air delivery so it would be here Monday. Over the weekend I didn't get an email or anything with a tracking number (perhaps something in their email system, I don't know), so I called Sunday and within a minute had my tracking number. Sure enough, it got here on schedule and well packaged. Excellent camera and great service for this order. "

"I'm always leery about entrusting 700+ of my hard-earned dead presidents to a company with whom I have no prior experience, but after reading the comments and ratings here on BuyDigitalDirect, I decided to purchase a Nikon CoolPix 5700 from them as they had one of the lowest prices anywhere on the net.

I ordered my camera online late Thursday night and received a confirmation email Friday asking me to "verify my credit card info." I also missed a phone call at work from Jeremy and was unable to reach him that day. He did call back Sunday to confirm my order and a few credit card details (alternate shipping address on file, etc.) and offered the customary array of overpriced accessories. He was extemely friendly & polite and not pushy at all when I explained that I had everything I needed. He confirmed I would receive an email when the camera shipped.

I was slightly concerned when the camera had not shipped out by Tuesday, but received both a FedEx notice and one from BDD on Wednesday informing me that the camera had shipped 2 day FedEx (I had only paid for ground) and was scheduled for delivery on Friday. Imagine my surprise when it arrived at my office on Thursday!

Camera was exactly as advertised: US model with Nikon USA warranty, brand new - no obivous repackaging and all pieces accounted for. In short, a model etail purchasing experience. I would have no hesitation recommending this dealer to anyone looking for an excellent price without the scam tactics that seem so prevalent in this sector.

"I found Buydigitaldirect.com thru Cnet Shopping while I was checking prices on a Olympus C-750 digital camera. There price was extremely low and almost made me nervous it was so cheap. I found a few online stores that had prices that were $10-$15 cheaper but after checking out all the stores ratings on this site and making sure they had no re-stocking fee (in case of a return) I decided Buydigitaldirect.com was the store I'd go with. I did actually call a couple other stores and none of them had the camera in stock, as they advertised on their site. Also the customer service reps. were rude at every store I called, except at Buydigitaldirect.com. I spoke with Brad who was very nice and helpful and not at all pushy. He did try to sell me the customary accessories and such that I didn't need and that were a bit over priced. However, my simple "no thank you, I'm not interested" was enough for him to kindly move on.

I placed the order and Brad told my credit card would be billed and the camera would ship out the next day via Fedex and I would recieve a tracking number in my email. Late the next afternoon I called my credit card co. to make sure the camera had been charged to my card and for the proper amount; it had. About 6-7 p.m. the same evening (the day after the order was placed) I recieved an email with the Fedex tracking number, just as Brad said I would.

The package showed up on time and the camera was a perfect US model, exactly as I ordered. I have no complaints what-so-ever. All that being said, I was VERY happy with my purchase and couldn't be more pleased. They did everything they said they would do and I was very thankful because of the horror stories I've heard about some of these online electronics stores.

"Very Dissatisfied.
Ordered C750 8/11/03 was told it was in stock. Never got a tracking number. Sent an email on 8/14 and never heard back. Called Monday 8/18 and said would ship today. Buying price was $549 and they billed the credit card for $668. Called today 8/20 and said they would ship today. I don't think they had this item in stock and were just stalling. I cancelled the order. Don't go here!

"I was in the market for a digital camera, and had decided on the Nikon Coolpix 5700. Searched the web for the best price, and found www.buydigitaldirect.com

Their price was low, and I had heard about customers having bad dealings with NYC camera outfits. I checked their rating here on resellerratings, and there were about 50 customers all with positive reviews. I decided to place my order via their website on Sunday night.

Monday moring, I recieved a call from them. The salesman just wanted to ask for the secrity code off the back of my credit card. He asked me one time if I needed any additonal accessories, to which I replied not at this time. He told me that he would send the camera out immediately, and to have a nice day.

Later that day, I received an e-mail with the tracking information. On Thursday, the camera arrived. Brand new, just as described on their site.

Great experience. I will definately buy from www.buydigitaldirect.com again!

"Ordered an OLYMPUS CAMEDIA C-750 with 3 day shipping on 8/3/2003. Received an e-mail on 8/4 requesting additional info on credit card. I called and they stated all was OK and the camera would ship same day, should arrive California on 8/7. Called on 8/8 inquiring about order status. They stated camera did not ship. Could not explain why. At their expense camera would ship FedEx Next Day and should receive by 8/12. No tracking number was provided, though requested. Called on 8/12 requesting tracking number and was given a number deemed invalid by FedEx. Called back to verify number. Was told they were contacting FedEx to track on their end. Personally called FedEx and was told tracking number was invalid. Called Buy Digital Direct and was told they were “still working on it”. Requested cancellation of order. Called credit card company to reverse charges.
Bottom Line: This company has zero credibility.

"I scoured the internet for the best prices, then checked out the various companies through the BBB, bizrate, epinions & resellerratings, etc. I then put all these companies into an Excel spreadsheet and sorted them based on price, ratings (both recent and long term), and other factors. I was shocked at how many companies had terrible ratings and wouldn't consider buying from them at any price.

BuyDigitalDirect was near the top of my list for potential reputable companies and I'm glad I picked them. I liked their web site, low prices, excellent ratings, low ground shipping cost, no hidden costs/fees, etc. The buying experience was pleasant and I dealt with a guy named Mike who was very helpful and courteous. I was soon impressed again when they sent me an email with the FedEx tracking number and they were very prompt with their shipment, which arrived earlier than I expected!

They will get my next order very shortly and will very likely get some business from my friends as well. BuyDigitalDirect did everything right to impress me. It was a great first expeirence buying from them thanks to Mike and the others there who processed & shipped my order so promptly.
