Brownells is a great store. Most of these posts are bogus.

"I've been doing business with Brownells for years. None of these one star reviews portrays any of my experiences. Thier products are always top notch, service always good. Returns for any reason always readily accepted. These one star reviews have to be 99% bogus if not 100%. Look on Brownells website for accurate reviews that reflect the true nature of this reputable American company. "

The worst

"Ordered gun wrong gun sight . Sent it back for exchange. Never received the exchange or a refund. Called and spoke to customer service. They were useless. I buy on line almost every day through a multitude of companies. This one is the most disorganized I have encountered."

"made an order 3 days ago, after two days I sent an email wondering where is my email for confirmation of order. no response. after three days my order was being processed. fourth day did actually update status to being shipped. and now it's going to take 10 days to get to me. glad I'm not in a hurry"

Tried to cancel an order repeatedly

"I ordered a part for a rifle at 1-2am on a Saturday morning. The very next day Sunday, before my order had even been assigned an order number I sent a reply to the confirmation email to cancel. I sent another Sunday night and another Monday after i was assigned an order number. I even went as far to sign in, went to the order number and tried to cancel there, but to no avail. The site stated that it couldn’t locate my order number that had been assigned by the vendor. After 3 attempts to cancel, they still shipped my order. I will refuse the package. And I will also contact my credit card company to dispute the charge as I have 3 emails stating to “cancel” long before they even shipped. My requests went ignored. That says a lot about this vendor and I’ll never order again. "

Failed to ship product I paid for and claimed it was the shipping company's fault

"I ordered and paid for three parts from Brownells.com: 2 small metal pins (1/16" in diameter and 1/4" long and an upper receiver. I received the two small pins in the estimated shipping time in a small bubble pack envelope, but the receiver was not and could not fit into the small bubble pack. I checked on the Brownell website and they indicated all three items had been shipped together. I contacted Brownells and after several months of back and forth emails they told me that it was the shippers fault. - but there was no way that the receiver could have fit into what they shipped. I believe that the item was stolen by someone in Brownells shipping. This person took the item and shipped just the pins but indicated that all three item had been shipped. They stole a $50 item from me. I will never do business with them again. Stay Away!"

Never again !

"Poor poor shipping this makes the 3rd Time waiting way over a week to get anything this time my product is on a Fed-x dock or in a mail sack in Little Rock Ar. and has been since Sunday Tracking said deliver time Monday Sent 2 emails no response so I called not much help with that so I got to wait 10 days already been 8 , and then they said they would see what they could do ! I told them just to send me a return shipping label, I wouldn't need it by the time they would get around to take The next step ! Midway will get all my business maybe a little more $ but at least I will get in 3 days !"

Brownells.com shipping and customer service terrible

"I have orders some cases of bullets but one case was broken and bullets all over the box. I wrote a review but they never post it and I wrote again still no post. I don't know how many bad reviews they ignored, was happy with them for long time this is really disappointed."

Disappointed

"I was severely disappointed with Brownells' customer service and shipping department. I have ordered from them in the past and had a much better experience. I placed an order for several parts about 3 weeks ago. I got a confirmation letter with all the correct shipping info. Two weeks later I had still not heard anything or received my order. I contacted them with livechat and was told it had a hold on it because it was being shipped to and overseas address(I live in Tennessee). After several more online and phone conversations, they fixed their mistake and agreed to expedited shipping. I finally got a confirmation email saying that it is in route but by the original standard 7-day shipping. Hopefully I get what I actually ordered."

Worthless Customer Service

"I ordered a Forester Bump Die Kit, which in the past has contained 3 bushings. It clearly states on Brownells site that the order number is a KIT and the picture clearly shows that it has 3 bushings. It arrived with the die and NO bushings. So I called Brownells CS, after a 30 plus minute wait, I got a live person that stated they could not help me and passed me along to another CS person. She clearly did not want to deal with the problem and offered to let me speak with a supposed supervisor. Again on hold for quite some time and person finally came on the line. It was clear from the beginning she did not care and was trained to "stonewall" and put the blame on the customer and the vendor. She literally throw Forester Die company under the bus. She stated that they had changed and was no longer including the 3 bushings. I quickly pointed out that Brownells still sells the kits with 3 bushings. She ask for a part number to prove it...oh my...I gave it to her and she was totally surprised and did not know how to respond. She finally said I should have read the entire product description and the last sentence states that bushings are sold separate. REALLY who reads entire product descriptions.
Her pert unprofessional attitude is just another example of how Brownells has slipped away from quality customer service to a "WE JUST DON'T CARE" company. In the end, she stated the whole fiasco was my fault, Forester was at fault and she would send a return label if that would help out. WOW

In the end, I turned around and called Forester, let them know that Brownells had "thrown them under the bus" and explained the entire situation. Their CS rep was very understanding and took care of the situation in a very polite and professional manner. Thank You Forester Products and Brownells has lost a life long customer forever.

Worst CS ever

"Any time I have needed help from them, which is often because they can mess anything up, their answers are: 1) Computer system is down, cannot help. or 2) The person you need to talk to isn't here today, contact us another day. There is NO ONE there that knows what is going on."

Formerly satisfied customer now won't buy from them again

"Brownells has everything that a firearms enthusiast could want, except customer service. Their prices are fair and, when they have a promotion, are highly competitive. I've done business with them for years and never needed to contact customer service before. Now I know, that service isn't offered.

I ordered an item from them that was supposed to include a gift card. The item arrived on Dec. 7. The gift card didn't come. I filled out the contact form, on their web site the same day, asking when I could expect it. I didn't get a response so I contacted them, through live chat, the evening of Dec. 11. The representative told me day shift people would have to look into this and I should expect a response within two business days.

Three business days later, Friday Dec. 14, still no response. That evening I chatted with a representative again. He assured me that he was escalating this to high priority and that I would be contacted on Monday, Dec. 17. I still got no response.

On Tuesday the 18th, I filled out another online contact form. It is now Friday and I still haven't gotten a response. They don't care enough to respond so I will simply stop doing business with them.

I'll miss Brownells but I simply won't tolerate being ignored when I have a problem with an order. Good riddance!

Customer Service

"First of all it ****. I ordered what I needed got a email confirmation so five days later I email them wondering if it had been shipped no response so two days later I called asking for a tracking number she didn’t give it to me and said the package was arriving that day,still no package so called again the next day and was told I wouldn’t get it till the following week. Got the tracking number and like they said the day before I should have gotten it then. So long story short I’ll never order from them again."

If you need it, Brownells has it

"I've placed something like a dozen orders with Brownells, and never had a problem. I have had to talk to customer service a few times (not because of anything Brownells did wrong), and they've always taken care of me, which I very much appreciate. While it's true that their prices usually aren't the best, they have so many sales, and put out discount codes so often, that with a little patience you usually don't have to pay full price. Besides, I don't mind paying a tiny bit more to have the peace of mind of their lifetime satisfaction guarantee. The only complaint I have is that when you order something on backorder or as a pre-order, they're terrible at giving you a realistic idea of when the item will actually ship. The answer is almost always 30 to 60 days, or just a flat-out "we don't know". Argh. I don't think that's worth a full star on my rating, but if they could fix that one issue they'd be just about perfect. I won't hesitate to order from Brownells in the future."

"No problem selling items they don’t have in stock but list that it is in stock 8 weeks later still no product ????? Wtf multiple calls to multiple departments noone knows noone cares terrible attitude especially Becky who ever that lowlife is very low moral and most likely iq also ....... **** BEWARE of this place sinking ship no company stay in business long when they treat customers like this way below -1⭐️"
