NOT IMPRESSED A FIRST TIME BUYER

"Not impressed. I ordered a couple of items on 04/06. Was supposed to arrive on 04/09. Kept watching my order. It went to a status of being put on hold. Chatted with them online on 04/08 and they said no problems they are just running a bit slow. Kept watching and saw no status update indicating the order had been mailed. Chatted with them again on 04/10 and they indicated there was no problems. I then get an email from them on 04/12 indicating I needed to call them. Finally got to call them on 04/14 and they said they need to verify my info since I was a new customer? Really? A week later? Then I'm thinking, "Well, they'll expedite the order since I've been waiting a week now. Nope. Actually, I think they found the slowest way possible to send it. Think they are walking it to me. Not supposed to receive it until 4/21. 16 DAYS FROM THE TIME I ORDERED. Terrible service. Won't shop with them again."

"SPAM LIST FOREVER - IF you value your inbox, do NOT buy from Brownell's. Unsubscribe and repeated requests to customer support FIXES NOTHING. Once you're on their mailing list, you will be there forever. I now make Brownell's my LAST STOP and only use them if nobody else has what I am looking for. Their email now goes to SPAM, which is where it belongs..."

Garbage.

"Horrible customer service and website. Ordered a part from their website, only to have it come in incorrect. When I contacted their customer service, it was explained to me that this particular part was mislabeled and "confusing" on their store. So I sent it back to them. Over a month later I still do not have this part in, and they contacted me telling me that I owe them an additional $10... gee, I hope their $10 is worth it."

Poor Customer Service

"I ordered an in stock item by mistake due to an inaccurate description they had on their website. They said even though it was in stock it was special order and even though their product description was faulty I could not return it. I have cancelled my account with them, I hope it was worth it."

Returns are a nightmare

"I have ordered several times from Brownells. The product has been what I expected until I ordered a scope mount in the wrong color. I contacted Brownells and they stated that it was no problem and they sent me a return label. The package was delivered to them on 1/6/20 and as of 1/25/20, I still have NOT recieved my refund of $68. I will NEVER order from them again. The refund policy is 7-10 days. I have called several times but continuously get the run around. "

Don't Even Deserve 1 Star

"They don't even deserve 1 star

They don't even deserve 1 star. Ordered on a Thursday. Although they were perfectly able to send me (1) an email confirmation (2) a pdf invoice AND (3) take my money in less than 24 hours, the STILL DID NOT SHIP until the following Monday. Then their rude customer service tells me I could have picked a faster (and more expensive) shipping option.

Never again.

Don't waste your time with this outfit!

"Don't waste your time with this outfit: 1.5 hours down the drain in an attempt to order one can of penetrant oil.
-Website malfunctions.
-Three sessions with their chat service: Cookie clean up, Delete web history, etc., etc. Malfunctioning website is everybody's fault but their's.
-Called customer service: 10-15 minute wait time.
-Beware: Their "free shipping" and "discount" offers for submitting your contact info: 'caveat emptor'.

Horrible Service - They won't help you

"I ordered a package on 12/19 and Brownells shipped 4 days later with expected delivery of 12/28 through UPS Mail innovations. Tracking shows UPS Mail Innovations delivered package to post office on 12/27 but post office denies ever receiving it. Was supposed to be at my door on 12/28 by end of day. Called UPS and USPS, both tell me package is lost and to call shipper. Called Brownells and asked them to trace the package. They refuse saying I have to wait 10 business days. I explain that I just want them to ask the shipper to run a trace, nothing more, they assertively refuse again, telling me to wait 10 more business days. I explain that I called post office and UPS and both post office and UPS is saying package is lost. No Luck, Brownells is worthless, First time shopping there, Last time shopping there. Save yourself the hassle and don't buy from them."

Misleading product reviews and answers to questions

"I'm sorry for the 5 star review I left in the past. They botched the two orders I placed just after my previous review. I now down grade them to 1 star. I bought one of their collapsable stocks. Their specific answer to the question of being the same as in the photo was incorrect. It is now a cheaper version of the one in the photos. My review was never published and my correct answer to the question was not not published as well. Right now there is a bogus answer to a question of quality. I sent back the ones they sent and will not buy from them again. I use the term bait and switch because it accurately applies. So too bad, they used to be a great reliable company, but if they won't change their incorrect information, I can't believe any of their descriptions now."

Ammo missing from Brownells order.

"
My order was incomplete. The shipping box was damaged and one 300 blkout ammo box was missing along with 11 rounds from another ammo box. Most ammo I have received from other companies double box their ammo. What was most frustrating, was calling Saturday and reporting the issue, and the only confirmation after waiting 30 mins to speak with someone was - I will receive a call on Monday. Brownell's can take my money on a weekend but can't fix an issue that was originated by Brownell's. I have to ask myself is saving a dollar on a box of ammo worth this aggregation? I never received a call. I called and was informed I have take a picture before they will send my ammo. I was told I have to be inconvenient because of others who have lied. I ordered 12 boxes of 300 blkout ammo $359.00 why would I lie over $30.00? I told them to keep the box of ammo and 11 missing rounds. I only deal with customer first base companies.

Poor business practices

"Spoke to someone about ordering a rifle and some parts during a sale, when I went to order an hour later they had raised the prices back to normal even the their home page banner said the sale was on until midnight. After talking to several people in customer service they refused to honor their own banner. I recommend supporting any company that supports their customers instead of Brownell's"

Awful inventory control and customer service

"Save your time and money. They have no idea of inventory control, and make their mistakes your problem. I ordered Swarovski loop straps and the online order showed them in stock, and the emailed confirmation showed them in stock. I received one, and the other is on back order with a delivery date of 5-8 weeks. I called and spoke with a Lexi....YIKES. She said they were special order... IN STOCK HOW IS THAT SPECIAL ORDER????? and could not be canceled. I needed 2 of these, as like shoes, one does not help you. I had to order from another supplier and I got them fast from somewhere else. Now instead of taking care of a customer and their mistake, Lexi and Brownells wants me to pay for both of these clips, and they will not let me return them. So, in today's world of easy ordering from places like Amazon and other outdoor retailers, please do us all a favor and order only from companies that value their customers. Brownells is not one of them. They can step off. I have begun a dispute with my credit card company over the first shipment of one and have put a stop on the second charge as well. I don't pay for awful business practices. What is worse, is the amount of time I have had to waste on the principle of what is right. I will NEVER pay for these and I will NEVER deal with Brownells again. I sure hope someone in upper management reads this review and my order survey."

"Browenells is lacking in truth in advertising, to the point of fraud. Point in case; ordered handguard - M5 15 ENHANCED M-LOK HG GEN 2 BLK, no where is it mentioned that there is no barrel nut to attach this hanguard, even though the Aero Precision box it came in states it is included. After talking to Brownells customer service they state that is the way they are selling it and that it is not missing, plus they do not carry/stock that part. Customer service also said they would get back to me buy phone, but I am still waiting (I won't hold my breath). The handguard is useless without the special nut to attach it to the rifle. Talked to Aero Precision and they told me that Brownells is allowed to buy it short the nut because it is a "Distributor." Read between the lines,... but for 50+ $ they would send me the part so that I could use the handguard to finish the build of my M5 .308.

This is a horrible place to shop

"I order over a hundred dollars worth of products and asked them to have the items placed behind a chair so that they could not be seen from the street. No one can say if that was done but eveyone says the products were delivered, but this is the response I get front the company.
Thank you for contacting Brownells. We apologize that you do not have your order. Unfortunately we do not replace or refund for orders that show delivered. Did you ever check with the post office or neighbors?

Scam

"They are a joke they lie to their customers about their inventory an ect. and if you have to cancel an order they will send you a message saying it’s shipped when it’s really not just so they don’t gotta cancel it, not to mention I was charged twice for one of my items... I now have a family emergency and could use the cash my items still say awaiting usps so they clearly still have not shipped and they refuse to give me my cash back I can assure you with my record I got a damn good lawyer I will contact about this scam if a business and I’ll always contact BBB I did my research and I’m not the only one that goes through this with them!"
