"We recently purchased a house on Smith Mountain Lake and were considering buying a boat. Virginia requires that you have a license to operate a boat, therefore, I saw an opportunity that would allow for an online course. I found this 1 to be outstanding. The course provided all the basic information necessary to operate and navigate on the waterways in the state of Virginia. The demonstrations and videos were very helpful and most informative. If you're looking for a basic understanding of the rules of the road so to speak that I would highly recommend this course.

Something to keep in mind, this is a comprehensive course and it does take some time to complete. However, the level of information provided is critical safe operation and understanding.

If I had any criticism at all, it was that the course tends to spend an awful amount of time on personal watercraft. I would have liked a little bit more information on actual operations of a watercraft such as docking, maneuverings for wake etc. Much of the courses devoted to personal watercraft which I understand our issue and concern and therefore focus."

"I took the online course in 2 days and on the third day I passed my test and have my license now. I'd say the only thing you could improve on beside that I took this on my phone and some of it was hard to see all of it without turning my phone to get a better view or scrolling up and down. It would be that after I took the practice exam and then took final exam I went back to taking the practice on a few more times which being unlimited which is awesome but it did not tell me which questions I got wrong like it did the first time I took it. So if you could make it so every time you take it, have it tell you which answers are wrong that would be very helpful!! Thanks for making it possible to not spend a day or two to get my license!"
