I called Friday (before 10am)and placed an order for a Wagon Tail cart/stroller to use to move my dog around with, since she suffered a broken leg the day before. "I was interested in purchasing a BOB trailer. I went to the BOB manufacturer site, found that there was no retail dealer nearby, and then checked out the online dealers. There were about 7 of them, including Amazon and REI. But, the best choice was the Bike Trailer Shop for one simple reason.......they had an 800 number that you could call, with knowledgeable people who could answer questions and give good advice. For instance, based on my bicycle, they advised me to get the 28" fork on the trailer. I would not have known that from Amazon or REI, neither of which had 800 numbers listed to call. Indeed, neither Amazon nor REI even offered the 28" fork option. Another instance, I had received advice from a user to ensure that I received a new quick release, with a longer spindle so that the trailer could attach. But, both Amazon and REI left it unclear if this spindle came with the trailer they sold. At the Bike Trailer Shop, not only was it absolutely clear that this was offered, as you had to choose between different length spindles, but their advisors told me what spindle to purchase. Again, neither Amazon nor REI offered the buyer a choice of different length spindles. You could buy a different length spindle but only as an add-on to the basic order which probably came with the most common length spindle. Finally, I didn't want the screaming yellow colored bag that came from the BOB manufacturer. But, this was the only bag available from REI, Amazon, and some of the others. With the Bike Trailer Shop, not only did they have other bags in other colors but they offered good advice on them. I ended up with a black Ortlieb bag that was actually larger than the BOB bag. I don't want to sound like I am criticizing REI or Amazon as they are certainly good for some things. But, when the purchase is substantial, over $300, and the item is not simple, like a bike trailer, you need a vendor who can speak with you. If someone is interested in a bike trailer, I heartily recommend the Bike Trailer Shop. Oh, and two other things. The service
staff were not only knowledgeable but nice. And, shipping was free."
