"I have a friend that ordered a helicopter from BH and had some problems with it and is still trying to get it all cleared up. I went online to read reviews about BH because I think that any company can have some bad luck now and then with products they sell, and people that make purchases online can sometimes expect way too much. So I needed a 6 channel flight sim kit and decided to give BH a shot even after my friends problem and some reviews I read were not so pleasant. Well my order didn't seem to take too long, but when I tried to use the simulator software that is advertised "Designed for Windows 7, Vista, XP, 2000, ME98" I found that I could not get it to work with my desktop that runs windows 7. So I installed it on my laptop that runs windows Vista and it still did not work. So I emailed BH to see if there was some software update for the program and am still waiting for a reply almost 2 weeks later. After trying some free(very limited)simulators I found online for a few days I noticed I could not stop the heli from making wild uncontrolled turns or just spinning very fast at startup. Checking the calibration of the control showed me that the throttle - left/right turn control lever was not working properly. Now I have emailed BH using their website support system again and still no answer. UPDATE! I called, got through right away and spoke to Crystal I believe. She was very helpful, told me the plan and it all happened even faster than she said. (shipping replacement part)Today I got the new flight sim controller and ill be darned if it dont have almost the same problem as the 1st one. Actually the 1st one sometimes let the craft make turns in both directions, but there was no control over the turning. Anyway, here I am with 2 bad controllers sitting here. "Banana Hobby has a great website, variety of RC items, and I really enjoy Pete's flight reviews. My families particular interests are with the radio control planes. We ordered our first RC plane based on what was recommended by Pete for beginners and a good value for the cost- about $175. Our order was quickly processed and correctly delivered. This where our satisfaction ends.

The plane was very poorly engineered. The little bit of assembly was impossible. For example, we could not attach the land gears to the body of the plane because the slits were cut too small. The canapy wouldn't close. And the back wheels wouldn't attach because there were no threads in the screw fittings. We had to return the plane.

I found the return instruction on banana hobby's website. They requested that I take pictures and send them with an explanation as to why we wanted to return the plane. They would then send us a "RMA" return authorization number. We did all this and then waited. And waited. And waited. I tried calling several time but either their phone lines were floaded or they were shut off. I sent emails. No response. Six weeks went by and it wasn't until we stopped payment on our credit card did Banana Hobby get back to me with that RMA#. I will never shop with them again.

"Not sure what everyone's prob with b/h is but i ordered the pits biplane on a mon....got it the following fri....good product if you ask me.The only thing i would tell b/h is to lable the hardwear better and get a better manual.Other than that i am very pleased with the product and price"

"Ordered a plane for my son for Christmas. Plane is still not working and it is 2/8. Plane came and controller and receiver would not communicate, had to do "binding" instructions. After that was fixed one original servo was bad. After a couple weeks I was sent a replacement servo that is also bad. I wouldn't mind but the phone systems were down and trying to talk to these folks in the online chat is the slowest thing I have ever done. I even asked if there was more info they needed and was told "no" only to receive an email a couple days later wanting more info. I replied with the info and got another email the next day asking for the same info. I am chatting now with them trying to get a second servo sent because I talked to someone on the phone last week and never heard anything. I will never purchase from this company again. If you get a product that works you may be ok, if it has a problem . . . I hope you're patient.
UPDATE: As you can see the reply from Bananna Hobby was 2-8-12 stating they would send me another part. It is now 2/17/12 and I have seen no new part or heard from them. This is what I mean about being patient if you order from them. Come on BH, does it really take 2 weeks to send a part?

"I orderd a heli from Banana Hobbies and had to call to see when it would be shipped. No e-amail updates. Was shipped on the forth day and it did get here fast. Total of seven days to get the bird. It was a Double Horse 9104. Advertised at 28" If you run the roters the same way as the fuselage and the tail roter the same.... the total length is 27". Actual length of the heli itself is about 21". Still not bad for the price. But NOT advertised correctly. Then I ordered a neck strap for the transmitter and there is no place on the transmitter to hook the strap. The transmitter will fit in one of my hands. Tried to contact customer support the first time was on 25 minutes just to find out when they were going to ship. I was on 55 minutes the second time (Chat attached) just to ask about the length of the copter and the strap they were selling that cannot be used with the transmitter. Two easy questions took an hour. All I get is I'm Sorry. I will attach the chat conversation and NOTE the time in between asking questions. I kept reminding them of the time so I could write this review. Tower Hobbies does not carry too many heli's and they are expensive, but for anything else I would go to Tower Hobbies. They are GREAT ! Customer Service 5 Stars easy. I would not recommend Banana Hobbies to anyone, nor will I ever order from them again. I will do without. They still have not removed the strap from the extras or changed the correct dimensions on the 9104 Double Horse. Tired of reading all the I'm Sorry they write and nothing has changed. The BLOG on the Banana Hobbie Home Page has been disconnected... wonder why??? How are they still in business. Are people really that stupid to keep buying? "Online support with "MARRY" was absolutely a nightmare. I bought the 1/16 Heng Long Tank and it worked for a few days and the drive system has failed. She wanted to talk about the battery for a couple of hours. What a joke. I would never recommend this company and will do my duty to convey my experience via word of mouth."

"Just purchased a RTR GOBLIN Heli because they said it was quality. I have a number of other mall store helis that are built better than this piece... straight out of the box screws are loose and one rotor blade was so tight it wouldn't move.

After fixing these items and starting to take off the very tiny flimsy linkage cracked and laid over not more than 6" off ground. OMG... I have the cheap helis that crash many times and still are not this brittle... What a giant waste of $90 and this is the most fragile heli i have seen, afraid to even fly it anymore.

I went online to order this 50 cent part and its not even listed (008 seesaw)in manual. The spare parts are only a few items like blades, motor, gears. How does anyone get any of the other parts and screws that break, especially at this price its not a throw away. I have another heli on back order that I want to cancel ASAP. I wish I had only read these review before any purchase, total junk...

"So far so good, i was a little nervous after finding this of course after I order my two planes. they shipped on exactly the third business day. Just a bit of advice to BH. Instead of waiting until that exact third day get the simple orders out as fast as possible, instead of waiting for the third business day it would make customers much happier starting off. So now we wait to get the planes and see how it goes from there. I will post another review then. UPDATE...Received the Mini Dragon 300 right on time. After opening the box and making sure everything was there i started working on putting this plane together. I am a novis first time ever in the hobby and the experience overall was very good. I had no problems putting the tail section together and even had to rewire the servo, the battery connection was not in the nose section, but was a very easy fix. after putting the decals on and charging the battery the pairing with the transmitter was easy. Now i do not have a run way so we had to hand launch. Since i am not that good at flying we had some crashes. the plane held up well and hopefully the next time out we get it going and have a great flight. Over all my experience with BH has been a very good one. "

"Hello. I thought this company would be much better than what I expected. The website does say that it take 3-5 says shipping. they never include that it takes that long for them to ship out the product from their company. Costumer service was horrible. I wanted to speak with a manager/supervisor and we always put on hold. I have been calling the whole day and no one answers.It took around 2 weeks for my plane to come in. and now it has a broken controller. I am very dissapointed. You need to step up your company and have more respectable reprisentitives. So sick and tired of Banana Hobby! "

"Buyers beware do not order from this company! Ordered an A 10 warthog. Where do i begin??? Left aileron was bent. Right flap was very stiff. One of the screw anchors that holds in the rear wing was too deep (had to use a longer screw). All 4 screw holes that are used to mount the main wing did not line up. Servo for one of the retracts was bad. One of the fan blades would rub the tube on full throttle. Had to purchase my own carbon rod for reinforcement. The instruction manual was pathetic, it had worthless details and the pictures were the size of a thumb nail.The steering setup is sloppy. The transmitter had a missing screw and another screw was stripped so the casing was split on one side. 100% satisfaction guaranteed my ass. Worst RC experience ever.

DO NOT PURCHASE FROM BANANA HOBBY.

"I ordered a rc hovercraft, which does not inflate properly. It was shipped defective. The hovercraft is advertised to work on multiple surfaces, but does not work on pavement, grass, or dirt. The company sent an e-mail with a suggested fix (lube and recharge), which did not address the problem. After responding to the e-mail, I didn't get a reply from the company. Also, the phone numbers on the website didn't work. I've spent hours on web chats that have yet to resolve any issues. It seems like the operators employ delay tactics until the web chat closes. The last operator stated that they would e-mail me a resolution after I stayed on a chat for over two hours. Still waiting. The only reason I wouldn't rate them as poor is due to the other products ordered (2 helicopters), performed as expected. But, this is the worst customer service experience I've had in quite some time. "
