"After many research hours I decided on the Shuttle AI61 motherboard/CPU combo that another company offered. I was looking through pricewatch and found Bananapc with the same combo and at a much better price. I decided to give them a try and I am not at all displeased with the outcome. The Shuttle AI61 is a good stable board(I am not seeing any "quirks" that another person had mentioned about this board) I ordered it with the Athlon 700 and I am very pleased with it. I recieved a confirmation e-mail very shortly after placing my order after 7pm that night. Shipping was very quick as was the ordering process(I ordered it on Friday the 9th and even over the veterans day weekend it was here by Wednesday) I am very satisfied with BananaPC and would order from them in the future.

"I ordered a Shuttle IA16 motherboard CPU/combo from them, and they were very knowledgable about the quirks of this particular motherboard, even pointing out I had the wrong sdram ordered for that motherboard before the order.

The motherboard was a piece of junk and I ended up getting an RMA number and returning it to them. I requested a refund to my CC, and they faxed me confirmation of credits refunded. RMA occured in a timely manner, although it took one phone call initiated on my part to make sure of it. I was charged a 'restocking fee'.

I dont think I would say that it's thier fault the motherboard was garbage, i think that's more Shuttle's fault for making a junk motherboard.

They kept thier word and did everything they said they would, and were agreeable on the phone.

I dont think I would buy mobo/CPU components from them again, but more standard hardware I might."

"I ordered Athlon XP 1800+ retail processor package, 256MB PC133 SDRAM with Micron chips, and Mitsumi floppy drive on 9/29/2002. The prices were great. The website was easy to navigate. I got the confirmation email for my order within 30 minutes. The order was shipped the next day (9/30) and an email with a tracking number was sent the same day. I received the items on 10/8/2002. It took 8 days for the items to arrive, mainly due to the ground shipping time taken for UPS from west coast to east coast. Bananapc has an office in NJ. I don't understand why they could not ship the items from NJ (to MA) and preferred to ship from their CA office.

When I received the items, they were well packaged. Care was taken during packing to avoid any possible damages to the items. Since I received the item in good condition the first time, I cannot say much about the RMA process.

The prices were comparable to the sites that have best ratings on resellerratings.com (e.g., Newegg). I'd recommend bananapc.com to everyone looking for good components at decent price (including shipping cost). I'd buy items from them in future."

"I found this etailer on pricewatch while looking for logitech netcams (6 of them). They had everything I needed in stock at the lowest shipping prices and product prices when compared to other competitors listed on pricewatch. My order was executed in a high-tech fashion on thier ecommerce site and i was blown away this morning that my shipment was already in NJ from CA ordered at 5:30pm EST the night before, which I got from an emailed tracking number from them. If the box has everything I paid, for this etailer gets a 10 from me so far."

"I wish to report a positive shopping experience I just had with bananapc.com. I found via the Google search engine a very good deal on a motherboard at their e-store. It was the lowest price I could find on this board--even a little better than the best at pricewatch.com, and their shipping charge was very reasonable; I especially liked that their online order system provides a shipping calculator to figure the shipping charge BEFORE one commits to the purchase. Immediately after I placed the online order, I received a confirmation email detailing the purchase I had just made. My order was placed in the evening and shipped out the afternoon of the next day. I then received a second email from them informing me that the order had been shipped and providing me with a UPS tracking number so I could follow the progress of the shipment through UPS's online tracking system. The package arrived as scheduled, but one end of the shipping box had been badly crushed, almost certainly as a result of UPS's mishandling. Forturnately, bananapc had well protected with packing chips the inner retail box containing the motherboard; so, there was negligible damage to this retail box and none to the motherboard inside.

One issue did arise after I opened the retail box and inspected the contents: There was only one CD included with the motherboard, which contained only drivers and utility software used with the board, but the description of this motherboard at the manufacturer's website, to which the bananapc.com website linked the customer for more details about the motherboard, clearly implied that the board was shipped with a bundle of application software. So, since no bundled application software appeared on the single CD that came with my board, I suspected that I might be missing a second CD with this software that should have been included with the board. So, I emailed bananapc about this and asked them to check one of the retail boxes of this motherboard in their stock to see if there were 2 CDs inside. Later the same day I received an email reply from one of their custormer service reps stating that he had made this check and found only one CD in the boxes, and he also discovered in the owner's manual for the board a list of the package contents--something I had missed-- that indicated there was only one CD and referred to the bundled application software promised on the manufacturer's website as "optional." Obviously, the motherboard manufacturer had opted not to include it--another deplorable case of deceptive advertising--but this was certainly not the fault of bananapc.

Overall, I have been very pleased with the prompt and professional service I have received from bananapc.com and would certainly order from them in the future."

"Do not buy from BananaPC.com. I ordered a new motherboard and processor for a friend, they failed to work on installation. I sent e-mail to tech-support, no response. I sent e-mail requesting an RMA, I got the run-around. When I finally got an RMA and returned the merchandise, the stuff was returned. They claimed it was out of warranty. Do not deal with these crooks."

"I bought two XP's and two ethernet cards for new PC's. They goofed up on their order. Incomplete/wrong shipment. However on a positive note, they told me that a refund is being arranged for my order. I hope to receive the money back on my credit card soon. Also they had arranged for a return shipment which was nice. Atleast I didn't have to make a trip to the post office to return it !
