"Classic bait and switch. No customer service. Advertised new gear at very low price, and I ordered online. Website said "in stock". Got the call days later saying it's not in stock. They refuse to respond to my status inquiries and demands to honor price. This is fraud, plain and simple. I don't know why Google allows Audiolines to advertise on its shopping pages with all the earned negative reviews. Pure fraud."

"I ordered a CD mixer for my teenager. Anytime I do business with a new company via internet I am apprehensive. I work in the bank that issued the credit card I used to place the order. That way, I am able to thoroughly track what charges are pending and posted to my account. I'm very familiar with the laws regarding what a company is permitted to do. I saw no evidence of anything that is "fishy". Although companies are permitted to upcharge and then follow up with an adjustment, this comapny did not do any such shenanigans. They charged the correct ammount just once- this is not always the case with other companies.
The order arrived in a flash! I was not expecting it for several more days, but it arrived in just 3 days! Intact and undamaged I might add.
As for the quality of the product itself...all I can say is that the boys think it's really cool! I've never compared quality of cd mixers, but the quality of my son's enjoyment of the product is definetely way up there!

"awful is the word to describe these guys. they sent me a promotion in an email, I used the code to purchase something. i call them to confirm it is in stock and if my order is ok and they say yes. then the next day they call to claim i cannot use the promotion on what I bought, even though the site let me place the order. these guys are a joke I had forgotten I got the same run around the last time I tried to order from them. beware."

"Ordered a Digidesign 002 Rack factory. They had the best price and offered a free digidesign bag at the time through a rebate offer.

As usual, they played the bait and switch game. I just missed out, so they offered me a new one at a higher price. Refused and had zero intention of following through with the order. Sure, they tried all the various tactics to get the deal, and I refused to budge (I've worked 10 years in Live Pro Audio retail) so they finally relented. Then just as I was about to wrap the 'deal' up, I questioned the inclusion of the bag (worth $99) to ensure it was included during the close of the sale. No, not possible, so, again I cancelled the deal then and there on the spot. Eventually a 'manager' came on the phone to further berate me, even raising his voice and stopping just short of calling me an idiot for not taking such a generous deal. I wasn't going to budge, and I too am quite talented at raising my voice.

Finally they discounted the price to reflect no bag, and after 15 mins of pure aggravation, and a burned customer for life, the 'deal' was done. Amazingly this one bad interaction cost them over 2,000 leads as I run a large sized teaching studio, and they could have EASILY had about $150,000 of business a year if they built even a basic relationship, but the whole bait and switch scam just makes you sick.

IF YOU ARE READING THIS, PAY ATTENTION TO WHAT A LOT, REPEAT A LOT OF PEOPLE ARE SAYING ABOUT THIS COMPANY.

It's true, in my experience, Audiolines are just everything you don't like about sales, especially in Pro Audio.

The only reason for the review was because I was searching for an item just now, and audiolines came up as lowest, and it just brought back the pure horror of dealing with them from 8 MONTHS ago.

Worth noting.... check out the majority of the '5 tick' reviews here and determine if these 'reviews' are legit. These reviews typically lack any detail, and scream employee review, not real customer review. No real detail, just how great they are. Then, counter this with all the horrifying, bait & switch, lying and general dishonesty encountered in the '1 tick' reviews. like mine. Pretty detail specific. This leads me to believe that the 'TRUE' seller rating is FAR FAR FAR lower than what is indicated here, and here they STILL manage to achieve 50% customer infuriation and dissatisfaction. That should be warning enough don't you think??

"This store is a typical Internet Bait and Switch. They have a product with a very low price, and a few days after you place the order, they call you to say that it is "not in stock" at that price. Of course they have another model for a higher price, and with a high shipping fee. They do however have the same prices as all the other stores, so they are not more expensive than others. But don't be fooled by their low, initial price."

"CAUTION! Bait and switch experts. The `new management` lures you with low prices on website, informs you that the item is out-of-stock, and then tries to sell you the `available` item at higher prices. To try to sweeten the deal, they will even give you a 10% discount. Avoid doing business with Audiolines. Furthermore, having out-of-stock items on your website, whether it be a mistake or `new` management's marketing scheme reflects very poorly on this retailer."

"VERY BAD EXPERIENCE! BE VERY CAREFUL OF THESE PEOPLE!

Sadly, the sales people at Audio Lines, Inc. were initially very nice but they made an honest shipping error but then would not own up to the error. Audio Lines, Inc. is so ridged about their NO REFUND policy that they would rather lose a potentially good customer (after having made a shipping mistake) then bend from their policy.

Here is the entire saga ~ hope it helps you avoid an equally bad mistake.

Thursday - June 11th
I found the product I wanted (Line 6 Toneport UX8) at a very low price on their website for a B-Stock (factory reconditioned) item but after purchasing the product they called about an hour later and said they didn't actually have any more at the $329.99 price but could sell me a factory new one for $439.99. I needed the Toneport quickly so I went ahead and purchased it because the price seemed fair and the salesman seemed.

I told the salesman that I needed the product by Wednesday, June 17th and he told me that I needed to upgrade the shipping charge, which I did. He told me that I would be receiving the UPS tracking information in approximately 5 minutes. It never came.

I had to call back the salesman again later that day to actually get a UPS tracking number from him. When I looked it up on the UPS site it stated that the estimated delivery date was Friday, June 19th, not Wednesday, June 17th as I requested. I called back the salesman (Dan or Danny, actually a nice guy... just not empowered) and he admitted that the shipping department had made an error (he told me this no less than 3 times) and that they were contacting UPS to have the product intercepted and returned to Audio Lines, Inc. After this intervention the UPS tracking site read "THE SHIPPER HAS REQUESTED A DELIVERY INTERCEPT FOR THIS PACKAGE / RETURN TO SENDER PENDING".

I had to call them again to ask them how they planned on rectifying the situation so I could get the product in time. Again Dan or Danny said they were talking with management and would be back to me. I never heard from them.

Saturday - June 13th
I had to call them again. Dan or Danny was confused as to what to do. He thought they were going to wait for the product to return to them from UPS and then ship it out to me AGAIN which would get it to me potentially the week of June 22nd!!! Well past the date that I needed. I told the salesman that I needed the product and wanted a credit back on my card because I needed to buy it locally to ensure that I had it for my Wednesday, June 17th date. The salesman was sympathetic and completely understood my frustration and verbally agreed to give me a refund and said that he would talk to accounts payable and get back to me. I never heard from him.

Later that day I drove 40 miles each way to buy the Line 6 Toneport UX8 locally. (Note: the local dealer was happy to match the internet price so I would encourage you to think about checking prices and/or buying locally and avoiding this type of hassle).

Monday, June 15th -
I HAD TO CALLTHEM AGAIN!!! I spoke with the salesman and he told me that his manager would not give me a refund. Well you can probably understand that I was pretty livid by this point. I told him I wanted to speak with the manager, Alex. Alex, who had not been involved with this transaction AT ALL, proceeded to tell me how, in fact, "I MADE THE MISTAKE"! I had not purchased 3 day delivery but 3 to 5 day delivery and that they were not giving me a refund!!!! All this after numerous conversations with the salesman who now is telling his boss that they had not sold me 3 day delivery. This, of course, is after we have had multiple conversations about when I needed the product. I am not an expert on shipping! I merely told him when I needed it and "what does it cost to get it there by then"!!!

I have contested the purchase with the credit card company and have absolutely no intention of paying for this product... which by the way I have never received. But here is the update... on the UPS tracking site it is now showing that the product is now in California. It wasn't rerouted back to their store at all! What a comedy of error!

I have never published a company review in my life but this is JUST WRONG! Is it the end of the world? No. But I could just not let this one go bye. If you must do business with them be very careful and very precise with them! Let the buyer beware!

June 25, 2009 ~ Audio Line has not, as of this date, reshipped a product nor issued a credit. I am certain that they will do nothing until the dispute is rectified by the credit card company. Incredible!

"I've read some bad reviews about this company but I took a chance. I found these guys on google when I was searching for my korg kaossilator and mini KP, I saw that they had some showroom demo on both and purchased them online.

From what I have read here, I was expecting a call from them and telling me that they did not have the items that I had ordered.... when my phone rang and I saw that it was a call from audiollines, i said to myself "here we go". I was actually surprised to hear that they were just calling to verify my billing and shipping info. They never tried to switch me to anything.

I recieved my order today and everything looks good. I'm thinking of giving these guys another shot.

"I was "bait and switched" but that was my decision so I can't complain about it. I did receive the two subwoofers I ordered at a good price but they were both somewhat damaged by inadequate packaging. As properly packaging and shipping back two 69lb boxes was going to be big $$$ for me, a big hassle, and most probably result in two more damaged subwoofers I decided to keep them. Oh, and besides Audiolines refusing to pay for packaging and return shipping they charged me $10 each more than they quoted on the phone!"

"Buyer BEWARE!

Bait and Switch, Lazy, Lied to me on the phone more than once. I called about the KB37 NOT IN STOCK at all. Outrageous shipping! Never got a tracking number. I called 9 days after placing the order and still no tracking number.

I called to place the order, the guy pauses and jumbles around a bit says he will call me back because his system is still booting... I'm thinking he's got to be on a 486 w/dial-up or something. He calles back and says its out of stock how about a discount on a brand new one? I agree. He adds 28.78 shipping! I call 2 days later and he says he must receive it first from Line 6 then he will ship because they will not drop ship for them. I agree. I call 7 days later. He says I should have it they dropped shipped it. I ask for a tracking number and he doesn't have one, He can't get one all day. He says no one is answering the phone at line 6. I call line 6 and had no problems getting through. He offered to credit my charges back, but he would have to find out where the packages is.... Would you believe him?

I called my credit card company to get my money back.

Absolute worst online shopping experience... EVER!

"Bait and switch experts. They advertise an item on their website, no notification of it being out of stock. You place your order. Checkout. Next day you get a call saying the item's out of stock, since it's discontinued. But they can send you the "newer" model of that item. They don't even give you a minute to think about it. Next thing you know, you approved an order for a more expensive item and you didn't even know what hit you. This happened yesterday. Called again today to try and sort it out. Maybe even cancel the order. The guy who took my call was lazy, rude, and totally unhelpful. He said he would call me back, since he needed to check inventory to see if my exchange could be done. One hour goes by and nothing. I call again. I ask. He's like "uhhhhhh. yeah I didn't get a chance to do it." What, and you couldn't call to say that?! To top it all off, he says the item I had ordered had already been shipped. So it looks like i have no chance to cancel. I was given a tracking number and it's totally bogus. I feel duped. Total scam. I'm going to try to return the item when it arrives. "

"I ordered a Prosonus V-Fire (R-Bus) cable from Audiolines on 4/13/09. Shipping was $20 UPS Ground for a cable but I needed it quickly and they were in Chicago (nearest me). Four days later I called (800 # was busy so I called direct) to see if the cable had shipped. They hadn't even looked at the order yet and the heavily accented person could not tell me when it would ship. I cancelled the order. Very dissatisfied with this company."
