"I purchased MSDN Universal, a one-year subscription to Microsoft development tools. What is shipped with this purchase is a tiny, out-of-date part of the software, without any explanation. Phone support promptly explained that the rest comes directly from Microsoft after I enter a code into its web site, and this worked well; I received the stuff promptly. Would have been nice if this were better explained in the product descriptions on the site.

Previous purchases went smoothly. In one case, a higher-value product (Office 2000 Pro) was substituted when the product ordered (Office 2000 Standard) was out of stock. I can't complain about that, although again I did call customer service to avoid possibly having to return it or pay a higher price."
