"Ordered a custom Athlon 64 system with no OS and am mostly pleased with the results. The system is now exactly what I was looking for and running linux flawlessly, but I did have the following minor issues:
Mouse was not as advertised on their website. One call to customer service and they acknowledged the discrepancy and agreed to an exchange, which was completed within about a week.
CD-ROM and front-panel audio connectors were not hooked up to the motherboard. Didn't bother with tech-support, five minutes of my time to take care of this, but might have been a bigger issue for someone who didn't know their way around the insides of a PC."

"Purchasing a computer fro American Computech was fairly easy. Getting any information as to the progress of my order was not. When my computer did finally arrive, it worked for two weeks and then died due to a faulty video card. I sent the computer back, the only way they will replace parts, and they had illnesses that cause them to take extra time getting to my service. During this delay, I received no communication, but was left to wonder as to the status of my service. After numerous calls, I finally was told they were testing it. They did replace the video card, but failed to test and check a power supply issue that was part of the service request. The computer was returned with the faulty power supply, and they now want it sent out before they will replace it. Tech support personel are fairly rude and unhelpful when called. Instead of working with the customer to resolve the issue, I was given a lecture on the poor profit margin in the computer business. I will most likely never purchase from the company again."

"I'm quite happy with my laptop; I had no trouble at all adding a dual boot with linux or getting the wireless ethernet to work, and everything is working smoothly. I suppose down the line I might look for a smaller, more efficient battery/recharger, but this is still good for now. The ordering process was smooth and any issues that came up were quickly addressed. I've continued to search the internet since ordering my product, and thus far I've still found the best deal I could get here. The process of choosing which components allowed great flexibility so that the product is just what I need. Thanks!"
"This company runs multiple sites under different names and not all of the sites contain the same information. Only buy from them if you know that there will not be a problem with the merchandise. Other then that they are ok. Customer service and tech support will give you different answers to the same question. Overall I truely say do not buy from them."
