abc gift cards sold me a Maurice’s gift card with no balance on it

"Stay away from ABC Gift Cards. An online resale site that sells a very high percentage of gift cards with no balance. I know this because I’ve visited many complaint/scam sites that have reported this. Unfortunately I also know this because I have recently been a victim of ABC Gift Cards. I bought a Maurice's gift card for $104.53 with no balance on it! I also hold Gift Card Granny responsible because they knowingly continue to do business with this fraudulent site. I will not continue to do business with either in the future! Do yourself a favor and stay away from ABC Gift Cards and Gift Card Granny!"

"I purchased 3 cards for $1000 dollars to a major high end clothing retailer. I received an email with showing an image of each eCard and PIN. I attempted to use them 2 days later on a Sunday and was told by the sales associate that one card had a $0 balance, one card had an inaccurate PIN, and the other had some other issue that prevented its use. I was quite upset since I had spent alot of money and 2 hours shopping and having clothes marked for alterations. I contacted ABC Gift Cards on Monday morning and was told it would take 7-10 business days which I found unacceptable. I pressed for a speedier reply and had one within the hour. 2 of the"cards" were fine- one was actually a store credit so I think when the sales associate entered the information to the store's sales system, they perhaps did not flag it as a store credit vs. a gift card (there's no way to tell on the card). I contacted the store and they were able to complete the purchase that day using 2 of the 3 cards. The 3rd card turned out to have already been used. Lorraine from ABC was on top of things and very professional. I appreciate that a card they purchase can be used between the time someone sells it to them and they sell it to me, but I think in the spirit of good business, they should confirm the card's balance at the point of sale before someone thinks they've bought something. This situation turned out well so I am happy they were available to help resolve the confusion promptly and issue the credit promptly too. It would have been a better customer experience if I did not have to insist on immediate assistance. The stress of being in a situation where you are in a store ready to use a card only to encounter problems is not one people should find themselves in. It appears from my experience that the card balances are checked when the company purchases it from the seller but not again before they sell it to you. Also, it is not made clear on their website that you are buying a STORE CREDIT. Perhaps knowing that would cause less confusion when the salesperson is trying to redeem the card. In my case, it was resolved and I am satisfied. I have purchased several times from ABC over the past few years and have no encountered any problems other than this one."

zero balance on cards

"purchased 3 twenty five dollar gift cards and on one had a balance on it. By the time I tried using the other cards it was past the 45 day refund period. No refund lost my money and they will not try to resolve."

Gift card have less balance and refund was slow

"I bought $50 gift card but only got $20. Had to talking back and forth with the claim division to refund my money back. Even that it would take another to actually get my money back. Such a waste of time and very frustrated. NOT WORTH YOUR TIME TO DEAL WITH SUCH A COMPANY! "

I wish I could pick zero star

"completely fraudulent site, the giftcard was sold from Broomfiled, CO had initial balance and then got used up again in Broomfield, CO that I can clearly see from company website. I did not find out until after 45 days and they say they can't do anything about it. They have clear proof that someone fraudulently sold and used card and they don't want to take any action.."

Be aware with restaurant gift cards

"Beaware of purchasing restaurant gift cards from Abcgiftcards. So far 3 of my cards have been declined in resaturants. 2 of which i can't Get refund because your are force to use them in 45 days. So bot worth buying a good deal. I purchased one right before we sat to eat and guess what yes it was declined. "

"Purchased a Starbucks card - received one sales confirmation but charged initially 4 times on credit card. ABC cardcash,.com then removed two but still charged an additional one not ordered. "

No problems yet

"I've made about 20 purchases so far so good. I have bought pac sun, dunkin donuts, olive garden, texas roadhouse and target. Sometimes it is annoying that the ecards can only be used online but I buy online and sometimes return to store if not available online. I suggest you use the cards right away. They say that the dunkin donuts cannot be put on your app but I was able to put all of the ecodes on my app. Considering you can dispute things with your credit card or bank, I am willing to take a risk. Considering I have made so many transactions without an issue, I trust that if one does arise, they will handle it or my bank will. Fraud comes on both ends, consumers and companies alike can both be shady. It is hard to tell who is telling the truth sometimes on these reviews. "

DONT WASTE YOUR TIME

"Im here to save you the time that I myself had to waste on this pathetic excuse of a company. You will NEVER, I mean NEVER do anything good enough to be verified to purchase a card. Then you have to wait for your funds to come off the hold on your bank. Customer service is an absolute joke! This has to be a coverup company for a more non legit business. "

CHECK GIFT CARD BALANCE AS SOON AS YOU RECEIVE IT

"I've been buying cards from this company for about a year and approximately 75% of the gift cards I've purchased have a zero balance when I receive them. VERY frustrating! However, they are prompt with refunds and I have learned to check the balance myself before attempting to use the card. AND I use Paypal to pay because then I have also have recourse through Paypal. If you're going for the discount, be aware that you have to exercise caution. If it's too good to be true, it probably is."

Cards Had ZERO Balance

" I purchased three $100 gift cards to Lucille's barbecue restaurant. When I went to redeem them, I was told they had a zero balance. It was embarrassing and frustrating. I will never use a website like this again and will never recommend them to anybody. The company refunded my purchase, however, the damage was done. It was more of a hassle than anything. "

Worked at first, then didn't, no recourse

"I ordered a $50 gift card and used part of it right away because I am aware of their 45 day guarantee. The card worked at first, so I figured everything was fine. But the next time I went to use it (about 4 months later) there was a zero balance, even though I should have had $20.95 remaining. I contacted the company and explained, but they would not do anything because it was past the 45 days. Yes, it was, but that means you not only have to TRY to card in 45 days, you have to use the ENTIRE thing in that amount of time. There are better companies out there, and they will back up their product for a full year. Also, my response came from CardCash, so they are apparently one and the same."

Worst Company

" I have bought from several other companies Raise and Gift Card Zen, etc. Never had a issue. So when I saw this company. I thought great I'm gonna save some money for dinner this evening. I bought two cards to Benihana's. Both of them have zero balances. Apparently the access code below a e gift card should have an actual number and not all zeros.

It's a whole lot of fun to find out you have zero balance on your gift card when trying to pay for dinner. Luckily I went through my bank and I'm gonna put a stop payment on Monday. I would advise anybody that wants to do business with them to Go to a more reputable company. The two that I listed on top. I have bought many many gift cards from them and never had an issue.

The other fun thing is they're not open on the weekend if you try to call the customer service and if you send them an email they'll get back to you in 3 to 5 business days.
