"If you plan to get something unexpected in the mail, order from these guys. I ordered an Enlight 400w ATX power supply and received some generic brand instead. I will be getting my refund, but I will have to pay for shipping back to them. I will never deal with these guys ever again."

"
Don't buy from A2Z Computers!!!

The Quicken CD that I ordered came in scratched up so bad that it could not be read. The package was not sealed. There were even finger prints on the surface of the CD. Not only that, I ordered the retail version which would come in a shrink wrapped box but what I received was a scratched OEM version. I really feel ripped off!!! They sent me the OEM version without telling me. To send me a used scratched up CD is totally unacceptable.

I called A2Z to correct this problem and they told me that this was my fault and that the open/scratched CD must have been caused by me. A2Z has the worst customer service on the planet. I finally gave up and asked for a RMA and a credit. The product was returned more than a month ago. No credit has been issued after more than a month. My only option was to contest the charge with my credit card company. What a headache!!! Avoid this company!!!

"I saw them advertised on pricewatch.com and decided to take a chance (newegg.com was out of stock of the motherboard I had chosen). I have to say that I am very pleased! I ordered the motherboard with 2day Fedex. It arrived at the same time as the FedEx overnight shipment that I ordered from newegg! And this was ordered Monday night- a holiday!

Anyway, I'm really happy with them and will probably do business with them again.

"Correction to my previous comment: the ratings on pricegrabber for this company are horrid too.

Whatever the case, I ordered two sticks of 256MB PC2100 ddr ram from these guys and it arrived in good condition and on time. I got a tracking number too. But based on the ratings I'd be hesitant about doing business with them again.

"(ooops - this board software overwrote my first post - it won't let you add a second one without overwriting the prior. My first post was about how these jerks sent me OEM XP Pro when I ordered retail, and how when I called I was asked if "...I was sure I couldn't use it?")

Followup to my last:

These guys are vermin. My XP Pro upgrade replacement arrived, promptly enough. I opened the box and was presented with a normal looking Windows XP box this time, but the shrinkwrap was torn open on the upper left corner of the front box panel, and a sticker that had been attached to the box had been removed, evidenced by the adhesive remaining on the box.

Alarms were ringing at this point. The certificate of authenticity was intact, with the MS part # of E85-00146. Investigation yields:

ACADEMIC!

The weasels went even lower and now are trying to pass off the academic version on me when I paid for RETAIL upgrade.

Another RMA request (funny, all emails are being ignored all of a sudden), gonna send it back and then chargeback on the credit card and let the bank handle these losers as I have no faith in them crediting me. Although they promised to refund the return shipping to me from the first return I have zero expectation of ever seeing that.

These guys are crooks through and through. MS anti-piracy has been notified.

"I have purchased motherboards, CPUs, memory, Operating Systems, video cards, computer cases and other items, on several occasions from A2Z. I am very satisfied. I had one motherboard that's CMOS battery failed after about 3 months, but A2Z replaced it without any problem with a better motherboard. I had a problem with a memory upgrade not being compatible with my system and they helped troubleshoot the problem and then they exchanged it for me. I appreciate being able to buy a variety of computer parts at lower prices than the local Best Buy or other Large store. I am very satisfied with the company despite the bad reviews I have read here. Technicians at A2Z went out of their way to help me at least two different times. I give them a high rating. "

"I saw them on Pricewatch and ordered 6 items including a Seagate Barracuda IV hard drive, Asus P4S333-M motherboard, DDR 2700 memory, black CDRW, black DVD drive, and boxed P4 1.8A Northwood CPU. They had no rating on Resellerratings.com so I took a chance after talking with a helpful person on the phone. I got the confirmation immediately and on the confirmation it said "Thank you for shopping at "A2ZComputers". I went back to resellerratings and nearly had heart attack when I read the negative comments. Well, I'm here to tell you that the order was processed promptly, I got fresh and perfect products and am extremely happy. 6 days total from Ohio to California. I hope that they are trying harder since the website is very easy to navigate and clearly shows whether items are in stock. I'm a happy camper. "

"Are these guys smugglers or what?

I ordered a Plextor 24/10/40 burner from them in November,2001.
What I received was unusual, to say the least. It was a 24x Plexy,
but not like any I'd seen in stores or on the web,- wrong box,-
wrong software. I emailed Plextor with the description and bar codes
of this unusual product. They emailed back within 5 minutes,- no lie,- and requested that I acknowledge receipt of their email.

A2Z sent me a Plextor product intended ONLY for distribution in Europe. It was never approved for sale in the USA. They claimed it may have been re-imported back into the USA. They also said that A2Z had been warned before not to sell Euro gray market product, and would be warned again that very day.

I got an RMA from A2Z very quickly.
Unfortunately, it took them over thirty days to credit my card.

"AVOID THESE CLOWNS!!!
I got their listing off pricescan.com and ordered a copy of Office XP Professional Upgrade. A week later I received three unboxed OEM CDs and a floppy. The CDs and floppy looked like they had been shrink-wrapped with a hair dryer. The floppy contained several really interesting items. Among them was an executable named Universal Activator which, from the readme file, is designed to either bypass or crack the activation process. Ther was also a .jpe file for a jewel case insert that had four different activation codes for various versions (corporate, Dell OEM, trial) of Windows XP. As soon as I saw what they had sent I fired of an email asking them what the purpose of the Activator was and if Microsoft would support the software. Got a phone message on my answering machine saying that they had made a serious error (ya think?) and that if I returned the shipment with the RMA they supplied they would replace it. About forty-five minutes later a different customer service rep emailed and claimed that I had ordered the EOM version. I emailed them back, attaching a copy of the shipping invoice which clearly identifies the item as an upgrade version and repeated my questions and concerns. Again, they ignored my questions and sent a boilerplate of their return policies. I contacted the Microsoft anti-piracy hotline and they were exteeeeeeemely interested and have initiated an investigation.. Also filed complaints with the Business Software Alliance, the FTC, and the Ohio BBB. The BBB has rated them "unstaisfactory" for a repeated pattern of customer complaints. Haven't heard from the company for two days so will cross my fingers and initiate the return process and when I hear back from the BBB.
These clowns have been completely unresponsive about my support and activation concerns, which isn't surprising since they shipped illegal software (OEM version with no qualifying hardware purchase, not to mention the hot Activator and activation codes). Do NOT order anything from them!!

"IN Short: DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME!

The details: web site had a great price for Lite On CDRW. My Order status is "In the shipping department, will be sent today!" for 4 business days in a row (6 days total).

They sent the wrong CDRW- wrong brand, wrong specs. So I return it and ask for the right one.
Despite the website saying they have 100 in stock they are out of stock. IT takes a week for me to say "yes, send me a similar CDRW!"
No one listened to me. IT then took 2 weeks for them to credit my credit card back.

The staff was either unhelpful or they were very efficient.

"You can get no information from these people and they are not willing to help at all !

Here's the topper people, the site has had for a while it seems, a glaring security hole, in which you can browse cutomers credit card information as well as change it !. I contacted them and they replace an obvious security hole with a not so obvious one, and then never write you to let you know its being addressed further.

I suggest they contact thier customer base and let them know how bad thier effort is to keep your information safe.

bizrate, gomez and the other seals of "confidence" they liscense from where contacted and they never returned any correspondance as well. who knows who's going to do anything about this.

Use them if you must but DO NOT buy from the online order site, and if you have call them and asked to be removed. I have thier admition, know they changes they made, and they are not enough, it is still easily the most disregard for customer security i have ever seen.

I find it hard to believe these guys are still in business.

Bought a Plextor burner 24x from them few weeks ago. It came DOA. Had to waste hours
trying to extract an RMA from them. It was -- surprise -- NOT toll-free.

2nd drive was (guess what?) also DOA. More wasted time, more long-distance bills.
This time I just wanted to ship the thing back, no replacement, thanks. Had lots of
fun getting them to agree to this.

I also had a lot of problems getting credited. Ended up getting my credit card
company involved.

I ended up eating all the shipping and handling costs. I bought an 24x Yamaha drive retail, which worked just great.

"Beware this company! They routinely lie and claim to have items in stock. They then bait and switch you to death. Also, they quote prices that are noticably lower than the competiton. It IS too good to be true. A2Z then uses the bait and switch to sell repackaged or mislabled items at a higher price!

AVOID THIS COMPANY LIKE THE PLAGUE!

This place qualifies for a Better Business Bureau investigation!
