"This actually happened September 27, 2001.
I ordered the full versions of Macromedia's Dreamweaver and Adobe's Photoshop software from A2Z Computers. I received the educational version of each item. On one box, the educational sticker was removed.
This was a horrible experience. They said since I opened one of the boxes and installed the software (the one where the sticker was removed), I couldn't return it. However, for that one, I only found out it was for Educational use by installing it!
These clowns wouldn't refund my money for that item. I had to work through my credit card company to make sure they did not get paid.
This has happened quite a while ago, but since I found resellerratings.com, I wanted to make sure people knew that these people suck."
"Just FYI folks just checked my credit card statement and it came up as PCHARDWARE.COM, These guys are also known as A2ZCOMPUTERS.COM because that is who I bought through. Check out that rating if you want the truth. A2Z Computers Tech-Support is awful. I sent back a warranty item and it took 2 months before I could get it back. And that was after weeks of calling and asking where it was."
"STAY AWAY FROM A2Z!! Below is an edited version of a complaint I sent to them. Anyone considering buying something from these guys please read the whole post. I eventually received a refund for the defective board, but I can't imagine how long it would have taken if I couldn’t have gone there in person. Anyone who has had a good experience with A2Z, count your blessings!
I bought an Abit KD7 (w/o RAID), an Athlon XP2100+, and 256M of RAM. The MB had a lot of problems, and after about a month, it died completely. I sent an email on Feb 24 to their tech support They called back and advised me to bring in the board, CPU, RAM, and my video card to diagnose the problem. I brought everything in Tuesday Feb 25. I was told that someone would look at it that afternoon. Wednesday, still no news, so I called twice, leaving two messages, one in customer service and the other in tech support. I was unable to get through to a human. I also sent an email to tech support asking for a reply. On Thursday, I left another message but never received a reply, via voice or email.
I called Tuesday afternoon and finally reached someone in the RMA dept. At first, he was unable to find out anything about the board, and then put me on hold. He came back and told me that the board was bad, and that it had been sent to Abit for replacement. He said that they no longer carried the non-RAID board, only the board with RAID. He told me to call him back on Friday March 14. I thought that it seemed an inordinate amount of time, as they had already had the board for more than a week, but agreed. Out of curiosity, I checked their website after I got off the phone, and it showed the KD7 in stock...it still shows it as in stock!
On Thursday March 13th, I called back (taking several tries to get through) and once again he had trouble finding out any information. He said basically the same thing he told me the time before, and said he would call Abit and call me back at in twenty minutes. I never received a call back. At this point I had been ran around in circles long enough. I called first thing Friday morning, the day I was told the board should be there. It took four times to actually get through. He told me to call him next Friday, that the board would be in then. I said that was unacceptable, and he put me on hold to talk to his boss then told me that his boss would call Abit and ask them to overnight the board, and to call him Monday. At that point, I asked to be upgraded to the RAID board so I could get the computer back together. He put me on hold again, and came back and said that he couldn’t do that because the company would lose money. THEM lose money!? What about me?? I then asked that he just refund the money for the board. After going around and round on the phone, I said that I would be down at the store that morning, and we could settle it then. He put me on hold again, and came back that he would give me the RAID board, but I would have to bring back all of the manuals, drivers, etc that came with the board so that it could be resold it when it came in. Now on top of all of the other problems, I had to leave work to go home to get all of this stuff, and then take it down to Aurora. It has since occurred to me that all of that stuff would have been in the box with the new motherboard, so he must have known then that they didn’t even have the board (or at least didn’t intend to give it to me).
Here’s the part that really irritated me:
I showed up and was told that the warehouse guy was at lunch, and I would have to wait a few minutes. I had already wasted the whole day trying to resolve this, what was a few more minutes? 5-10 minutes later, he called me into the back room to tell me that “all of the Abit boards had been taken to a computer show”. He then showed me a “new” board that he could substitute for the Abit. It was a “new” Asus A7V266-E, and he said that was the best he could do. I pointed out that the VIA chip on the Abit board was the VIA KT400, not the 266 that was on this board, not to mention the difference in RAM speed, and the fact that this board didn’t have any on-board LAN, was not “new”, just in original packaging, and as I discovered later, didn’t have the back I/O plate included.
Furious, I just took my stuff (including the Asus board), and left. I stopped at another store on the way home and bought the Abit board that I wanted- the same board that would have taken A2Z more than three weeks to get. I got it in ten minutes
Here’s the kicker: When I asked where the show was they took ALL of the Abit boards to, thinking that I could go there and pick up a new board, he told me it was in Syracuse. I decided to go to the computer show in Berea the following day. Wouldn’t you know it, but A2Z was there, and they had the Abit board there that had “ALL been taken to Syracuse” I checked out the Syracuse story- that show was the weekend before. All of this seems like a lot effort on their part to save upgrading me to a board that probably cost them about $10 more.
What a bunch of scammers. Pass the word.

"I sent in a purchase for the ATI RADEON 9000 PRO 128MB AGP video card, which they clearly advertised as the ATI built card, even including the manufacturer's part number #100-433002. I specifically ordered from them because I needed the ATI built card and not a 3rd party clone. What I received was the cheaper (and lower quality) Sapphire card which of course has a completely different manufacturer's part number.
I immediately sent them email and informed them of their mistake and asked what they would do about it. All I got for a response was to call their customer service people. I spent all day trying to get hold of them, without success. Finally, I got hold of one of their sales guys who simply told me to fill in an RMA and send the unit back for a refund. I sent it back the very next day in the very same box they shipped it in, and included my invoice and RMA information -- I followed the directions to a tee.
About a month later, I still did not receive any credit for the returned merchandise. Even though they claim that refunds will be done within 2 weeks, they never would have sent mine had I not called them.
As though that was not bad enough, they did not refund the original shipping charges, nor the shipping charges I incurred shipping it back to them! Yet according to their policy, they are supposed to refund the shipping for their mistakes.
Thieves! Stay away from A2Z Computers!"
"I ordered a Creative Modem Blaster. Clearly identified by name, product number description. Order was correctly acknowledged. Cost 38 dollars. Retail boxed.
I was sent a $3 worth of non-name piece of garbage a card in a plastic bag, the type you buy at computer fares by the pound."
"CAUTION: If you have to return anything to this merchant
you are out of luck. They will not
respond and they do not issue refunds!"
"Ontime Shipping. Great Price"
"What a bunch of sorry individuals!
I ordered 1 peice of Corsair XMS2700, 512. After a week, I inquired about my order. After another week, it finally shows up...but wait... OCz brand PC2700, 512. I checked the invoice. They actually changed my order, and shipped me whatever they felt like. Never mind I had to match an existing peice of 512 memory. I inquired about this, and received a generic response with an RMA approval. After I returned it for RMA exchange, they decide to call me and ask what the problem is. Finally the guy on the other end says that they are both the same, and they don't even sell Corsair memory (showed 188 in stock)...whatever. So we agreed on a refund. I finally got that after I filed a claim with my credit card Co., minus shipping. I guess they feel justified charging me for shipping since they sent me something I never ordered. What the hell??
Don't walk, run from this incompitent bunch of scam artists!"
"bad shipping"
"I ordered WinXP Pro and received very prompt and professional service. I would consider a2zcomputing for future purchases."
"Maybe they have turned a new leaf, because I had an ok experience -- they had the best prices for the parts I needed, great selection, and best of all, shipping for all the parts in my system (including a tower with power supply) was only $20! When there was a problem with the video card (it was incorrectly advertised as having DVI out) they gave me an RMA right away and refunded the cash to my credit card within 30 days."
"I ordered an Epson Printer. They claim to have had 14 in stock. I requested 2nd Day Air. As of Nov 20, no printer and no answer to my email even though they have been read. I have cancelled the order and requested that they do NOT charge my account. Time will tell if more problems occur."
"Ordered online on the 28th. Recieved an e-mail stating my order was being processed. It is now the 5th of november and hasn't been shipped. I then came to reseller ratings and realized all of the negative feedback. I just now called them and cancelled the order. "
"Purchased online an OEM copy of Windows XP Pro. First off there was no "official" Microsoft Certificate of Authenticity included with the order. Secondly when I tried to "activate" using the supplied "product ID" (a generic label attached to the CD envelope) I received the message The online activation could not be completed...The product key being used to activate this copy of Windows has exceeded the maximum number of allowed activations. I tried to call their customer service. I got the message that all their customer service representatives were busy and that I could leave a message, or press one and I would be allowed to continue on hold until a representative was free. Pressed one and it looped me back to the same recording. After two or three times doing this it hung up. I called back the operator was not available and got the same voice menu structure. Called back and got through to tech support. I described the problem and the tech said that they installed XP on multiple systems all the time and had never heard about not being able to reuse the product key on a different system. He did agree I should have gotten a certificate of authenticity and set me up for an RMA. When I mentioned maybe I should cancel the order, he bragged that they had been in business for 11 years. In retrospect I wish I had checked ResellerRatings earlier. After I got off the phone with him I read the next line of the error message "This can occur if the product key has been used to activate a different computer." I really wish I had read that before I called. "
"I ordered a motherboard and memory from this site only because they seemed to one of the only resellers with the motherboard in stock. After ordering and waiting 2 days, I talked to a very rude salesperson who told me the motherboard was not in stock because of the dock strikes in California and I shouldn't expect it for 1 week or more. I figured this was acceptable but didn't appreciate the unfriendly attitude. 2 days later the order had shipped. I was curious and called about the order and once again was greeted by a rude slaesperson who told me they never had any problems with stock and the whole order had shipped. Surprisingly, after recieving the correct order the memory was bad. The memory I ordered said they had 181 in stock, and on hand. I got and RMA and then shipped the memory back to them. The RMA department was extremely difficult to deal with and often put me on hold to try to find out information and either didn't return for 15 minutes at a time or hung up on me. I once sat on hold for 30 minutes (after getting a person) waiting for their boss to tell them whether or not the could send me a replacement. Finally they told me they didn't have any in stock (their website said 181 in stock/ on hand). After struggling to get a hold of their RMA department again they agreed on a refund. That was more than a week ago and I haven't seen any money yet. The RAM cost $161. I realize this may take awhile but with the service I've gotten so far I'm expecting much. I'll be surprised if I ever get the money back!!! NEVER ORDER FROM THESE PEOPLE OR THEIR "REAL" COMPANY A2Z Computers "
