"Will never shop here again! Ordered "in-stock" item online and found out credit card was billed next day, item never arrived after 3 weeks! Out of 12 attempts to talk to a human at their phone # I got thru 3 times after 5min waits. Twice I was told the part was "in the mail", 3rd time I told them to cancel order and phoned my credit card company to complain as well. Terrible communicators and service."

"Terrible internet reseller! Placed an order on 12/26/02, paying 2nd Day Air. One week later, after multiple calls, my order still was not shipped. Cancelled the order via phone. I received it 4 days later! Order was incomplete and parts were substituted with inferior products."

"RUN AWAY RUN AWAY RUN AWAY
I may sound like Monty Python but this is the best advise I can give.
A week after they charged my cc they decided to finally send the product.
I even ordered 'professional kit' with my Sony TRV27 and still got a used product.
The bar code had been removed and a copy of it was put in the camera box and the box was re-sealed, the memory stick was missing, and the accessories were worth less than half of what I paid.
Plese purchase Sony products from an authorized dealer. The extra few dollars is well worth not having to deal with these scumbags.
I decided to return the product within 10 minutes of receiving it. It took 2 hours to finally get an RA number but I will be following up with fraud charges also against 645af.com AKA Genesis Camera.

Please, please, please stay away from this company.

"What a horrible on-line vendor. Ordered a sony digital camcorder on 12/19/02 hope it will come before X'mas. Today is 12/30 and still no sign. Tried their customer service, everytime after a 20 minutes wait and was told they are experiencing heavy call volume and call back later.

Yahoo has 645af as their "featured vendor" do you know what that means? It means Yahoo got paid to put them on the premium list, it doesn't mean it's a reputable vendor! Do not buy from these crooks.

"Horrible experience. Site said "In Stock". Credit card was immediately charged, of course. A week later, no scanner. I called and the sales person said that it shipped but couldn't give me a tracking number.

Hung up and immediately called Customer Service. She said "I don't know why he said that - we haven't gotten *any* in stock to date and don't have an ETA." I requested a credit card refund, and a month later I still haven't gotten it.

I was forced to charge back through my credit card company.

Crooks. Also go by Genesis Camera.

"Avoid this company like the plague. HORRIBLE phone support (if you can even get through). They charged my card the day I ordered, not the day they shipped, which they never did because I cancleled the order through my credit card company.

Complete nightmare experience.

The company goes by 2 names (why?!) Genesiscamera.com and 645af.com. That right there should've raised my caution flags.

"I just want to warn everyone (as well as vent my anger) about
645af.com. By all means, AVOID doing business with this company!!!!

I was looking at purchasing the Canon Powershot G3. I found it online and at the 645af.com website, I thought the package they offered was a really nice deal... their site says they've been around and in business for quite awhile. They also had a very high ranking as an online store through some consumer websites.

But to show you why I will never do business with this company
again:

* On 11/7/02 -- I called their sales department and inquired
about the inventory of the G3. They told me they were expecting
it the following week and that they would have many in stock
cause they order by the thousands. They told me they would have
their shipment in by 11/12/02 and that their pre-orders would be
shipped ASAP.

* On 11/9/92 -- I placed an order for the G3 through their
website. I didn't expect any shipping details until at least
11/12/02 since they were getting their G3 shipment in that day.

* On 11/14/02 -- I called and waited and waited and waited while
they tried to track my order. They told me that it would ship by
the end of the week. That would mean by 11/15/02 or 11/16/02
since that was the last two days of the week! Still, nothing.

* On 11/18/02 -- I called. Waited and waited and waited.
Finally got to talk to someone in customer service who told me
that my order had not shipped and that my credit card had not
been charged yet because their shipment that came in on 11/12/02
was already sold out and that they would ship my order as soon as
the next shipment came in. She said that the shipping dispatcher
said that my order was next in line for being shipped pending
arrival of new stock. At that point, I requested they cancel the
order. She said she'd cancel the order. I also asked that she
make sure my credit card not be charged. She said she would take
care of everything and make sure that my card hadn't been
charged. She also said that the cards aren't charged until the
order ships.

* Later on 11/18/02 -- another manager from 645af.com called me
repeatedly and asked if he could guarantee that I'd get the
camera by the end of that week, would I keep the order. I said
no, because I had already been lied to by their sales department.
He told me that they hadn't even gotten their initial shipment in
because the camera still hadn't been released. I told him that
was not true because I already knew others that had the camera in
hand and that it was even down at the local camera shop. He then
said he'd have to check and see why they didn't have their
shipment yet. He called me back and said he could guarantee that
it would ship to me by Wednesday, 11/20/02. I still said no. He
apologized, but I told him that I would not be doing business
with his company. He said he understood and would make sure my
card was not charged.

Okay, so what do you think happens now?!?!?!

* 12/14/02 -- Wow! My American Express bill is here and there's
a $1200+ charge on it from the company!!! Hmm... And it's dated
11/10/02. What does this mean? They charged my card BEFORE they
even had the camera in stock. They charged my card BEFORE they
were even ready to ship me the camera!!!!

So, what happens from here??? I called American Express.
They're just too kind! They've opened up an investigation!

So, if you've made it this far... PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE!!! DO NOT
EVER DO BUSINESS WITH 645af.com !!! Please warn your friends and
colleagues about these people. Because everything that
transpired with this company has left me with no choice but to
refuse to do business with them!

Oh, and as for my G3? Yes, I do have it! I got it from the
camera shop down the street! The sales guy there was kind enough
to put the last one on hold for me and waited for me to get off
work and pick it up!

"Ordered the Canon D60 online. Listed as in Stock. That was on Wednesday. Friday no shipment info. Emailed them with no response. Called on Monday to the order desk; said yes the D60 is in stock. Asked why mine was not shipped and they immediately transferred me to infinite hold. Started to cancel the order but finally got a tracking number late that night (10:00pm MST). I order priority on a Wednesday, but did not ship till the following Monday. Not good service or fast. Not professional. Will not order from again."

"Purchased a Fuji Finepix 3800 on November 17th 2002 for $300, $100 below the retail price. It didn't ship until December 2nd. Called many times and sales reps said it was on it's way, and that it was Fuji's problem. One lady said she shipped it personally, which was also false. Came on the 3rd, nearly 3 weeks after purchase. I'm going to steer clear. "

"I admit I was skeptical about this company. After having been taken to school by every bait-and-switch joker in Brooklyn, I started looking elsewhere. I found this firm in my distant hometown of Philly. 645AF were a little bit more expensive (but, of course all the Brooklyn prices were phony), but still a bargain. I placed my order with Pat. I explained my experience with those other jokers, and was happy that I wasn’t given “the pitch.” I was a little worried when asked if I needed any extra batteries or lens, but I said “no thanks” and that was the end of it. I thanked Pat as I hung up, because it was such a better experience then dealing with the others. She replied, “We do things different in Philly.”

Now, here’s the rest. They are the same company as Genesis Camera. Why they go by two names, I don’t know. It doesn’t make them look good on-line. I was told on Monday that my package would arrive on Tuesday the following week, even though I asked for 3-Day air (at a cost of sixty some odd dollars, which is pretty steep, but read on). I was told that the camera was available. I gambled in my mind, and continued to give them the benefit of the doubt.

Tuesday came and went. No camera. When I called them on Wednesday I was getting EXTREMELY close to my deadline and nervous. I dealt with a woman named Kerri. She was very pleasant, and told me that they were out-of-stock, but that the cameras had arrived that day, and she was looking at them. She assured me that I would have my camera by Friday. My doubts were running even higher. Why would the camera suddenly appear the day I called, especially when I was under the impression that it was in stock at the time of my order? Still, I hung in there.

Thursday, and my palms are sweating, so I call Kerri again. I asked for a tracking number, and found that my camera still hadn’t shipped! Again, Kerri reassured me that I would have my camera by Friday. Within an hour, I received a duplicate invoice, with a tracking number.

DHL delivered the camera today before noon! That’s Philly to Houston people (I’ll tell ya what, I’m even more impressed by DHL). It is brand new, Sony sealed, NTSC and it is NOT a gray market knock off. So, all things considered, it was a perfect success! I got my camera. It was the exact camera I ordered and I got a great deal. I received it on time, thanks to Kerri.

Now, to sum it all up: 645AF delivered the product they promised, and I’m more then willing to let the couple of days slide since I got my camera on time. Still, they do put you on hold routinely (but, unlike the other places, they apologize for it, and it isn’t too long a wait). They DID NOT bait and switch. Although, I question whether they might have tried harder to push more accessories had I not been so adamant against buying them. To some extent, this is perfectly acceptable, in that businesses are formed to make money and to land as big of a sale as possible. I suspect they will try to sell you accessories, but I also suspect they won’t hold it against you too much if you turn them down. There is nothing fishy about my camera, but I question the shipping practices and delivery time estimates. I suspect that had I not been a squeaky wheel, I wouldn’t have my camera yet. I SUSPECT that. I cannot prove it. You may have to keep on them, but if you don’t need your camera in a hurry, and you are tired of the old bait-and-switch, then this is a good place to get a damn good deal. They do do things differently in Philly, and if 645AF just tweaked a few things in the customer service department, they would be perfect. They could give any big league electronics shop a run for their money. Ask for Kerri, she did me right.

"Item was listed as "In Stock" was told 3 days in a row that the item was shipping that day. I was unable to get a valid tracking number for 4 days. Customer service puts you on hold forever and then they disconnect you. Was told they would call me back with a tracking number and I never received a call back. Finally received package, camera was ok but filters with the accessories kit were not all the same brand, looked used!"
