"Same story next fool! They pressured me to buy the upgrade (which doesn't exist) I finely reluctantly agreed. I should have ran!
Decided I better check out the store ratings and found this sight a couple of nights later. Tried the next day to cancel the order but it had already shipped. I canceled my credit card because I don't trust them not to use it.
I did get the part I ordered but it was not a deal , shipping was free but free cost about $30.
I have been educated and will only buy from reputable sellers from now on.
Resellerratings.com will always be consulted before buying on line from now on. Even some popular online stores don't have great ratings.

I began to argue and said I would not paid for there mistake and the costomer sevcice person hung up on me. I have contaced the Attorney Generas office to file a complaint and also the BBB in New York. A friend of mine is a P.I. he said this is a shaddy company! "

"So I am in total panic mode after making a purchase this morning before reading all of these reviews. If anyone is willing and able to offer some help as to how to deal with charges, cancellation, disputes, etc, please let me know. My email address is ****@****. I tried cancelling about 3.5 hours after purchase, but they claimed my order was "complete" and shipped although they couldn't provide me with a tracking number yet. HELP!?"

"WOW...I knew yesterday that something was wrong, I have never been made to feel so stupid in my life. I order almost everything I buy online, this is the first place that used the bait and switch and had a non stop salesperson geared and ready to change my order and all of a sudden add another 19.99 for mystery charges called handling, even though there is NOTHING on their site. Watch out- never ever buy (and be careful, they are under different names online too....look at the page formats before you buy)
My situation looks just as grim as everyone elses, the same rude language and dishonesty is shown in my order too.
For the Record "ANDY" is the supposed supervisor (who said "no one held a gun to your head and made you buy from us" and Jason was my salesperson (ie CROOK).
Good luck and please warn any of your friends.

"Wish I would have found this site just a couple hours sooner...

I placed an order with this company online for $1299.99 total. No shipping, no tax. I had to call in to confirm my order and when I did, the guy on the phone started telling me I needed to get this and that could get me a better package deal. I went round and round with him because I didn't know what to do (I don't know the technical stuff about cameras). I asked if I could just cancel the order and talk to my husband and I was told there was a 10% cancelation fee (which I thought I had just looked over on the website b/c I had made sure I read the policies before placing the order). I finally decided to get a package he offered me which had 2 "better" lenses (or so he claims) then what I wanted. He said the lenses were a value of $1200. He told me the price would be $1549.99. I also confirmed no shipping and everything with that order also and he said yes. He told me I would get a new email showing my new order. After I hung up with him I decided to go to a (trustworthy) website and price the two lenses that he claimed where such great deals. I found they had a value of about $300 instead of the $1200 he had told me. I called my credit card company to see if I could stop the charge. I was told that he already saw a pending debit of $16xx.xx. I never got another email to see why I was charged more. I called 1 Way Photo back and told them I wanted to cancel my order. He then said " You are aware that there is a 15% cancelation fee" I told him that I wanted to see where it said that on the website and that the first guy had said it was 10%. He told me it wasn't on the website and so I told him I needed it in writing. He offered to send me an email. I told him I wanted to see if on the website (just so I can that they made customers aware of this before purchase). I asked how they can charge a fee like that if they don't have it somewhere in writing so you can be aware of it before purchase and he said "We just can". I will dispute any charge from them. Has anyone else that had this similar problem been charged anything to their credit card?

"Do not order ANYTHING from these people!

This company's prices are fictitious. They have no intention of letting you buy the item at the stated price. If you resist their aggressive up-selling your item is now suddenly back-ordered. This will give them some time to work on selling you more accessories which should rightfully be packaged with the product. Example: I tried to order a Nikon D80 w/18-135 lens at the unbelievable price of $710.00 (I know, I know, if it sounds too good.......). After looking carefully I couldn't find the "Whats in the box" button common with most electronics retailers. Well, they don't want to say "whats in the box" because they have removed alot of it and will now attempt to sell it back to you at an OUTRAGEOUS price. After refusing to buy "accessories" my order suddenly became back-ordered. After another phone call by me (and another failed sales attempt by them)I decided I'd gone down a bad road with these people and was going to cancel. When I told the rude sales guy I was going to cancel he said "Fine, I'll send you an email".
If you don't "play ball" and buy all their over-priced accesories you will never see your item at the advertised price.
I consider myself lucky to be rid of them. There are also many other rip-off companies on the internet. BEWARE!

It would have been fairly easy to find out if this company is factory authorized by Nikon. Of course they are not.

I ended up buying my camera from Abe's of Maine https://www.abesofmaine.com/welcome.do;jsessionid=433102E3B6A05D498BFC533BD0012813
Needless to say I ended up spending more than $710.00 but my experience with them so far has been great. And I will actually get all the things Nikon wanted me to receive w/my camera. A good clue for me was when I was told no batteries and/or charger came with my camera from 1way. They (and a few other key things) must be purchased through them at an OUTRAGEOUS price.
DON'T DO IT!

"I ordered a D80 package, called in and told it was in stock and ready to go. I opted not to buy the extras they were trying to sell me. Then the next day it was on backorder for 7-10 days. After a week, I called back, now it is 3 weeks backorded. I suspect that because I didn't order the expensive extras they won't actually ship it to me. I see the same comments all over the place on these guys."

"DON'T BUY FROM THIS COMPANY.
I have made camera purchases from New York companies in the past with no problems. If you purchase from 1wayphoto chances are you will get nothing but grief. I ordered a Canon D30 package with two Canon lenses. I was contacted by the salesman Mr. David Johnson to varify my credit card number, which is a good business practice, or so I thought. He informed me the lens package that was listed on the add are old style lenses and gave me some lip service to updated lenses which would upgrade the function of the camera. All through the conversation I was refering to Canon IS lenses, he never once mentioned Sigma lenses. I agreed to the updated lenses thinking I was getting Canon lenses. I agreed to the order. Of course when my camera package arrived by UPS on time I opened it to fimd Sigma lenses instead of Canon. Was this my mistake or a shipping error. I called Mr.Johnson to varify my order to try to work it out. If this was my mistake, I would work it out. I would accept the Sigma lenses over the Canon lenses. When I asked Mr. Johnson the retail value of the two Sigma lenses he informed me they were $599.00 each. I informed him that I would do some checking and get back with him. Guess what, I could buy the same Sigma lenes for $130.00 each. I called back. He then offered to take the two lenses back and replace them with a Sigma zoom lens that would do it all for me. His price, $800.00. After checking with other reputable companies the retail cost, $440.00. Now we have a problem, and the story only matches most of the other stories on this web site. I called back for a RMA number. I was hung up on for one hour straight. I kept persisting and finally reached the manager, or so he claimed to be the manager, Mr.Greg Hayes. He informed me he would make me a great deal today by taking off $400.00 on the camera package because it would cost me $366.00 to return it because of the 15% restocking fee. I asked to return the lenes only, but no, this is a camera package. You must return the entire package. That was such a great offer, don't you think. Wrong, I'm still out another $500.00 on the total camera package. I asked for the RMA number three time through the conversation. He finally informed me of the process to recieve a RMA number by Email. I returned the entire package by UPS and informed my credit card company to dispute the charges. I am now playing the waiting game to find out what will become of this. I would like to write a vavorable response to this mess, we'll see. Oh, by the way, the full size tripod that was advertised with the camera package turned out to be a 40 inch max high tripod. I'm 6 foot tall. Are there nothing but midgets in Brooklyn NY?

"1wayphoto is a one-way ticket to disaster. I have never been more upset purchasing something online than I have during my brief experience with this store.

Yesterday morning I ordered a Nikon D80 packaged with some extras for a relatively modest price. A little less than 15 minutes later I received my online receipt. So far so good. A couple hours later a salesperson (whose name escapes my mind at the moment) called to ask for my security code on my credit card, then proceeded to say that the battery and charger do not come with the kit (which is completely untrue). He asked if I wanted a 2-hour or a 5-hour batter. At that point I suspected foul play somewhat but was too blinded by the low price. After saying a whole bunch of needless technical jargon that doesn't even make sense, he proceeded to charge me first 1349, then 1249, then 1449 after the 200-dollar insurance and handling fee (i.e., the expensive "free" shipping). An hour or so later I called back and asked for an online receipt for the new order. A customer service rep named Jason stated that he will email me the receipt, but it will take several hours for its "server" to send it to me. At this point I assume that their "server" is run by a turtle on a wheel. It's been more than 24 hours and still no receipt. But no matter, I sent an email yesterday to cancel the order, to which they replied (with absolutely no proper formatting and email etiquette) threatening that my "hasty decision" will cost me "a lot of money" according to their company policy, which is legally shoddy to say the least. I've already notified my credit card company, and will dispute all charges from 1wayphoto as well as refuse any deliveries coming from them. Do NOT buy from these bait-and-switch vendors!

Edit: They've just sent me the tracking order for the package that they had shipped on 3/26, even though I have already sent in my request for cancellation on 3/25. I'm not even sure if that's legal. I have already filed a dispute with the credit card company this morning, and will refuse all deliveries from this store.

Edit: It's been a month and still I'm fighting for every cent I deserve. They resolved a dispute with the credit card company but only gave me partial credit, claiming 370 dollars in shipping/handling/cancellation fees. I had to put in yet another dispute claiming service dissatisfaction in order for AMEX to start an actual fraud investigation on the transaction. I will fight to the death to get all my money back, and update all of you as this goes on.

Edit: I looked at their policies on their website today and noticed that they've added a clause saying they'll charge a penalty for refusals. Be careful! The battle's still ongoing for me with AMEX requesting more and more information from me.

"Do NOT do business with these cheats. They advertise low prices, take your order, then call you to "verify" your order. During the call they tell you lies about how the product will perform poorlyu unless you upgrade the memory card, add a lens, buy the filter, etc. - and then they give you prices for these "additions" that are 4-5 times what you can buy them for at any retailer. They will tell you a camera doesn't come with a battery or charger, when the manufacturer says it's included in the box. It's all about scamming you."

"DO NOT BUY FROM THIS SITE. I searched for three weeks for the best price on a Canon Rebel Xti and i found it here at 1wayphoto.com. Just like the rest of the reviews, i called to confirm and they were telling me how the battery that came with the camera would only last 15 minuets. I called a local well known store and they told me that is rubbish. I was worried this was shady so i cancelled my order hours after placing it. This site/company is absolutely absurd. I am definitely interested in speaking with others and notifying the Better Business Bureau in the state in which this company operates to get them shut down. Please use the link to contact me and lets take these shady people out of business.
This is absurd and probably illegal. There is no way Canon and Nikon would allow their products to be sold by a company like this.

Do Not Buy From These People.

"I placed the order before finding and reading these reviews. Big mistake - but after reading the reviews I sent an e-mail telling them I was canceling my order. Today I rec'd an e-mail saying that my camera was not in stock (appears that they did not bother to read my e-mail) that my credit card had not been charged (let's hope it stays that way) and that they would contact me when the camera I wanted (Nixon D40) was in stock. Sent them another e-mail telling them not to bother - that after reading all of the reviews posted here I was not interested in dealing with them. Hopefully that will be my last communication with them - but at least now I am wiser and will know the routine if I do hear from them. Thank you all for making me wiser - and realizing that if it sounds too good to be true - it is!"
