"I recently ordered a djembe from X8 drums and I am very satisfied. There was a minor mix-up with the pricing on their website that I noticed after already purchasing a drum, so I went ahead and chatted one of their agents for clarification. It turns out I was speaking to the company's vice president, who was incredibly nice and understanding. She wasn't offended by my situation either; rather, she asked me about the drum I bought and instead upgraded me to a better (bigger) version for free, and basically at a loss to them. To put it bluntly - you will not find better customer service anywhere. I've ordered from musiciansfriend, guitar center, and sweetwater, but the intimacy and friendliness of this smaller company is unmatched. Not to mention - the prices are excellent and the quality of the drum I received is superb! Thanks X8 drums!"

"X8 Drums has terrible customer service.

I purchased an X8 Black Doumbek a couple years ago, and when the head broke I was told I'd have to purchase an entirely new drum! After some terse emails, they finally "located" a new head from an in stock drum. Then they wanted to charge $16 for it! I passed on that ridiculousness, used a standard doumbek head, which required me to crank on the tightening rods to get a decent tonal variation, and the rim cracked from the pressure. I sent another email requesting a new rim and head, and was told to buy a new X8 Black Doumbek, then to buy a rim and head from a Toca Freestyle which is not even sized the same! When I pointed this out, they suggested I upgrade to a new, more expensive drum.

This is a company that doesn't even stand behind a product on which they put their X8 Drums name!

I will NEVER purchase from them again, and I suggest you don't waste your time with them either."
