"The worst. Possibly the poorest customer service I've ever experienced shopping online. I know all caps is tacky, but I'm doing this next part that way so it will draw the eyes of people who aren't reading this closely:

THEY LIE ABOUT WHAT THEY HAVE IN STOCK, AND THEY CHARGE YOUR CARD REGARDLESS OF WHETHER THEY CAN SEND YOU THE ITEMS OR NOT.

I placed an order back in February for two items which were listed as available and in stock. I waited a week and a half without hearing anything. After e-mailing them and being asked to wait longer TWICE, a month had passed and I finally requested that they either ship or refund my items. After I asked for my refund they stopped answering me. They have shipped one of my items and listed the other as being on backorder. Given that this item is recently out of print, this means they will not be able to get it. I have written to them demanding that they refund this item, and have still heard nothing. Shop at your own peril. These guys are really shady. I wish there were an option to give them negative stars.

"I had ordered many DVD's and figures on animeharu.com. I want to give them 5 stars but I gave them 4 because there were times when they took a long time to ship my order. I was very satisfied when I purchased figures from this website because I received them in just 4 days. However, it took almost 2 weeks to ship the DVD's to me. They were bootleg DVD's. So, if you want to get your DVD's, then you're going to have to wait a few weeks. It's not that big of a deal since the cost of the DVD's are not so bad. You also have the option of getting DVD's on Amazon.com. You will probably have more luck getting DVD's there. However, if you order any other product, it will probably get to you really quickly and their customer service is not bad. "

"I ordered 3 dvds through them on Jan 4 2012 and here it is Feb 16 and not once did the customer service rep help what so ever. I sent a email a week and a half after ordering asking why I havnt got a confirmation email back back yet on my order. They send one back saying its on back order and they can have it to me by mid next week. Jan 17 I call asking why they still havnt sent my order or any email for that matter. Again they say its on back order and they will send as soon as possible. Unlike what their website states, saying they cancel any order past a month that has not been sent they did not do this to mine. I precede to call 3 more times and now their excuse is that its Chinese new year and they won't b able to get the back order in for about 2 more weeks. After that I cancelled my order and now await a email confirming my cancellation. If I could I would rate them 0 stars"

"Maybe I'm lucky, but I got a shipping confirmation 5 days after my order has been placed, so my item will probably arrive within a few days (it had priority shipping by default, which is nice). It's a tad slow, but the prices are excellent, so I would say it's worth the wait.

I'm not a bot or an animeharu employee attempting to boost ratings. I'm just saying that I bought a Durarara!! messenger bag without a hitch and it's on the way to my house. I'm going to assume that it will arrive in good condition.

I was concerned at first after reading these reviews, but now I am relieved to see a shipping confirmation. By the way, I sent an inquiry requesting a status update on my order the day before receiving the confirmation, so maybe you guys should just keep in touch with the staff to keep things going smoothly. The price of my bag, including shipping, was less than the price on most other sites excluding shipping, which was the reason why I chose them to begin with.

Overall, I think animeharu has been given a bad rap they don't deserve. If you keep in touch with them through "Contact Support", you shouldn't have so much trouble. I don't think they should be selling bootlegs, but their excellent prices on legit merchandise trump that flaw in my opinion.

One thing I like is that orders can be tracked with USPS Track & Confirm once they are confirmed, so you know where your order is.

EDIT: My bag arrived on the 13th of February, 10 days after I first ordered it. That's much less than the 2-6 week estimate given. I'm changing my rating from 4 to 5 because I have nothing to complain about. I would, as a matter of fact, recommend them. Just don't go ordering those $15 complete series on DVDs. Obvious bootlegs are obvious :P

"These people are rip off merchants with utterly no sales, communication or organisational skills. Five weeks ago I placed an order with these people. I received an email telling me that the items would be shipped in two to three working days, and that I'd receive another email telling me when the item had been shipped.

After three and a half weeks of complete silence I finally sent them an email asking what was going on. I was concerned that the item had been sent and then had been lost in the postal system. After several days I received a reply telling me that some items I've ordered were not in stock even though they were advertised on their website as being so. Those items were in the middle of being ordered by the company. If those items could not be found in another week the items that were in stock would be sent to me, with the remainder on back order.

Anyway, long story short, five weeks after I placed the order, the only communication from them being an automated notice and a single update that I'd had to solicit, my patience is at an end. I've sent them a nasty email cancelling the order, and after seeing the reviews that others have posted here I've cancelled my credit card too. Just in case. I shall be waiting for my next statement to see if they have billed me in advance despite saying that they would not do so on their website.

DO NOT order from these people. A best they're inept, at worst they're out to rip you off.

"Have placed 3 orders with them now and I am less than happy with the whole thing. The first order was only partially shipped, the rest of it being pre-orders that I am still waiting on 2 weeks after the pre-order release date. The second order was cancelled, but it took them a whole week to notify me of that. The third order still hasn't shipped and it has been three days now. Don't think that I will be getting it before Christmas. I just can't figure out why I am paying almost $8 for Priority Shipping and it takes them so long to ship the item. Customer Service is able to get back to me with 24 hours, so why so long with shipping?"

"I beg to differ. Well, I think animeharu's pretty new, so they are a little slow in getting back, but their customer service is A+. They reply my inquiries and any questions I have within one working day.

My only gripe with them would be that they always list stuff that is out of stock as in stock, but they have since fixed that. And pre-orders can take forever to come. But other than that, if you order the in-stock stuff, they are pretty punctual.

I would give these guys another chance!

By the way, I did not buy DVDs. I bought anime figures and some other misc merchandise. All legitimate stuff.

"Don't believe the 5 star views. I took a chance and regretted it. I ordered in October of 2011 and it is now December 13. My first order took 4 constant email for them to finally send it in November and the dvd copy they gave was a poor bootleg copy. The second copy still hasn't came in and guess what, it's been 2 months.
These people depend on people forgetting their orders. Just order from shopanimedvd.com at least they are reliable with good copies.

"I heard about animeharu.com from my friend, so I decided to give it a look and ordered 3 bleach dvd's and a Halo 3: Master Chief Figure. It said it would take about 2 weeks for delivery and I ordered my items on Oct 24th and recieved it on Nov 9. Its not as fast as it could be on delivery in my opinion, but when I called and asked when my shipment would arrive, they gave me an answer promplty; but I wish they answered there message board a lot faster. Overall my experience was good, i would recommend others to check this website out, it has many options and choices for all the ANIME LOVERS! :D"

"I placed and order on Nov 2 after reading up on the website. It took a week for the item to ship out, even though it was in stock and ready to ship. I called to cancel the order and they assure me the item woulds ship the next day and that I would have it by the end of last week but I still have no update. I've tried to call again but there is no answer even though I call during the business hours posted on their website. The prices are not bad but it's worth the extra money to order from somewhere else that has better customer service and relays correct information. "

"I ordered a 14 disc box set (studio ghibli movie collection) from animeharu. (Sept 30) I recieved an email a few days after saying that my order was being processed and would be shipped within two to three days and if there were any problems with the order they would email me to let me know. After a couple weeks of no notices I sent them an email just wondering what was going on, I recieved no response. When I checked my bank balance I found that they had charged me even though they said they wouldn't until they shipped the item. After a month I finally got a shipment order saying that they had shipped my order. I was little disappointed that it had taken so long contrary to what was said in their policy, but didn't care as long as it was finally shipped (Nov 9). I recieved it a couple days later (nov 12) and was so excited. When I finally opened it, it wasn't what I ordered. I got a twelve disc movie set missing two movies. I know it seems like i'm making a big deal, but when you work hard and pay for something you really want, it sucks when it's wrong. Now I have to make a request to return it, pay for shipping, and I'm not even allowed to get my money back. My choices are: buy something else from their website with store credit, exhange it for something else on their website or wait another month and a half for the same item again (after I return my product). I sent them an email asking about everything and they have yet to respond back. I understand everyone makes mistakes, but I don't think i'll be dealing with this company ever again. Be cautious when dealing with them. I don't know if i'm the only one this happened to but from my experience animeharu seems like a very unprofesional and dishonest company to deal with.

By the way, if you look at the reviews below you'll notice the bad grammar in most, matches the bad grammar they have displayed on their website. Just something I noticed.

"I am a huge fan of anime figures and I found the perfect anime figure that I have been searching for a long time on animeharu.com. I wanted to buy it right away but it was marked as “preorder item” and I was told that I needed to wait for 2 months to receive it. At first, I debated whether to order the item or not because my credit card was going to be charged when the order is placed. But I took a chance and placed my order. I figured I could ask for a refund if the item never ships. However, to my great satisfaction and surprise, the customer service team was really prompt and awesome because they notified me of my “preorder item’s” status until it actually shipped. I didn’t feel jipped at all and there was absolutely no hassle for receiving the item. I love the figure that I received and loved the quick and efficient customer service that I received. I definitely recommend animeharu.com to anyone who is looking for great product and great service."

"Recently ordered the Ouran Host Club Blu-ray DVD set through animeharu. I asked them ahead of time if it was in stock, and they confirmed that it was not, but they agreed to try to find a copy for me.

I was not able to get the DVD set, but they handled the cancellation smoothly and quickly. I was never charged for my order, there were no gimmicks, and they didn't try to hassle me into another purchase.

I consider this kind of customer service A+++, especially for a smaller store. Kind and efficient, I'll be happy to visit them again in the future.

"I’ve ordered some Japanese DVDs at animeharu.com and I feel satisfaction because of several reasons.

First of all, they didn’t charge my credit until after they shipped my order. As you know, many Japanese anime sites charge your credit first, and then they ship you the order.

Secondly, they were honest. They informed me that some of the items I ordered were not in stock and so they didn't charge them.

Thirdly, I like their customer service because they didn't ignore any of my questions. They even sent me Japanese candy as an apology for the backorder items.

I think animeharu.com is a pretty good site!
