"I have a 1969 Wheelhorse Raider 12. I purchased a set of these and they did not last a winter. I have used all metal chains in the past and have never had a problem but I needed something not to scratch my drive. They had tension, and spring and rubber tensioners on both wheels. I email this company and they said it was my fault. They never did return my email the second time. Interesting that they also banned me from their website. Horrible product. Buy at your own risk. If I could upload pics of the mess they ended up with you would not believe how horrible these chains are made. No fasterners, only cheap metal bent over the chain strap. I could bend them when they got caught in my axle. "

"In my opinion, TireChains.Com is a company to be avoided. The chains they sent me didn't look like the photo. They were so small in chain thickness that they sat below the height of my tire tread, thus serving no purpose. I called them as soon as the chains arrived and they told me to send them back. Yes, I was hit by their 15% restocking fee as well as the cost of the initial shipping and the return shipping. It cost me over $30 to end up with nothing. With so many companies offering free shipping and free returns, I'll never do business with this company again."

"I had a rather negative experience with this vendor. I purchased a set of diagonal cable chains to fit my tires 205 50R16. After confirming my selection with them on the phone, I placed the order online. The chains were delivered from PA to CA via UPS ground in about a week. However, despite trying for 2 hours to get them installed (I even jacked up the car at one point), I did not succeed. Although my tire size was listed on a tag attached to the bag that contained the chains, they were clearly to small to fit the tires. It became clear that if I couldn't install them in a warm garage, there was no way in the world that I'd ever get them on in cold snowy conditions.

I purchased another set of chains at a local store (same diagonal cable type, but different manufacturer), and had no problems getting those installed in 5 minutes.

I called to obtain a return authorization, and shipped the chains back UPS ground (cost me about $15). I had asked them on the phone to waive the 15% restocking fee, but they said they couldn't make that determination on the phone, and I would have to write a letter.

So, I included a letter with the return. According to UPS tracking, the package was received on Nov 29. A week later, they had not credited back the refund. Two emails in two days went unanswered.

Finally, on Dec 8, they credited back the full price of the chains (honoring the request to waive the restocking fee), but I was out the shipping charges both ways.

As a previous reviewer has noted, they have a rather restrictive 15 day return policy.

If you are lucky to get chains from them that fit as advertised, you may have a satisfactory purchasing experience with them. However, both their return policy and their customer service are rather unfriendly. "

"I had the chains shipped out 2nd day air to reach me before a trip. They arrived on time but didn't fit. I left on my trip, taking the chains with me to send back on the road. On the road I called up their customer "service" folks. They gave me a return number and said I had better express ship the chains back (not cheap) since if they arrived one day after their 14 calendar day limit (with holidays and weekends that doesn't give you long) they would no longer accept the chains back. So I'm out $55 in shipping due to their mistake.

The chains that came, though they were of the wrong size looked like they would have worked if the sizing had been correct. You provide the tire size to them when you order the chains, but nothing in the package indicates tires the chains are supposed to fit.

I ended up getting chains from J.C. Whitney. They're more expensive but they come with a way to return them (which I didn't need to do) and a 30 day return period. "
