"I ordered a Rohloff Hub and parts, including a wheel build for my recumbent bike. I had several interactions by email to clarify the order, and to assure that my bike would accommodate the install. Completion of the order was delayed, due to workload issues at Starbike. Communication was very good, in relation to order completion, and shipping via DHL and then Canada Post was 10 days with good tracking. Not all items were in stock, so it required some patience to assure all details were addressed and that the order was complete, prior to shipping. Bike parts are duty-free to Canada, so the only fees were sales tax, and a (competitive) shipping fee. All parts ordered were delivered, and the installation documentation from Rohloff I found to be outstanding. I completed the installation myself, and I am impressed with the quality of the products I received."

"I ordered several small parts (bars, stem, rotors, chainrings, etc) on 17 Dec 2018. When the order was placed 1 part (stem) showed a status of available in 1-3 days. All other parts were in stock. On 19 Dec I sent a request that they ship the in-stock parts. They replied on 20 Dec stating that the stem will be in stock on the 21st, at which time the entire order would ship. On the 24th the items still had not shipped and now the chainring showed as out of stock. So I opened another ticket asking for an update and did not receive any response. I followed up on the 26th without response. So on the 27th I sent another inquiring asking for them to remove the chainring and ship the other items. The order was supposedly shipped on the 28th. I received DHL tracking number on the 30th, but it showed the packed had not yet shipped. The package finally shipped on 2 Jan 2019 and on the 3rd left Germany. Now, on 7 Jan 2019, the package is still en-route from Germany to the USA.

It has now been 3 full weeks from the order date and the package is probably over 1 week from delivery.

If you live in the US, you can't be in a hurry!!"

"The prices are fantastic. I ordered on 4/20/2017 and as of 5/27 still haven't recieved everything I ordered. The initial shipment was missing two rims that I ordered [alternate rims that I did not order were in the box] and worse, there was basically zero padding [just a couple sheets of cardboard separating the rims from the rest of the order in a somewhat oversized box, so the heavy Ulock that I ordered careened around bashing everything and bending the spokes and poking holes in the box, losing the ulock bike attachment part in the process. If they'd promptly appologized for the inconvenience and shipped the missing items when I informed them of the problem on 5/6 that would make it somewhat ok just annoying to have to wait to build up this wheelset. But instead they first offered to "let" me pay wholesale to buy the different length spokes that would be needed to use the rims they did send. When i insisted that I needed the rims I ordered and not what they accidentally sent, they wanted me to pay out of pocket to send the mis-shipped rims back ot them before they'd send me the rims I ordered. And instead of just grabbing a ulock attachment piece off another ulock in stock they special ordered the part from Abus, delaying things further. I got a second "thank you for your order" email on 5/17, giving me some hope that the balance of the order was en route, but I never got a tracking number [unlike with the first order] so now I wonder if that gave me false hope. Either way it's too late because I'm going on a trip for 3 weeks without anyone at home to receive the package. I didn't think that a trip five weeks and change after I ordered would present a problem. I'm sure Starbike is great if the order goes well. And the prices sure are great. And I had good pre-sale communication from them, getting an unlisted spec from the mfr for the rim that I ended up ordering. But when things go awry they are eager to propose unsatisfying resolutions are not quick to make right, and have gone silent. I last posted to my support ticket on 5/12 and haven't heard anything from them other than the "thank you for your order" email with no tracking number on 5/17, ten days ago."
