Customer Service Nightmare

"I received a metal detector for Christmas and due to my climate I was not able to try it out until a couple weeks after that. I received a faulty product and a very non user metal detector so I asked if I could exchange it for something different. All I was told was no 14 day return/exchange policy which I think is ridiculous because sometimes it take 14 days for a product to be delivered. Mind you the metal detector I received was 3 thousand dollars. I tried explaining to them that they should be a little more understanding and the response I got? “Sorry” I’m so displeased with this customer service and a massive waste of money. Especially on a defective item. I would not waste my time with this business. "

Horrible customer service

"Bought a metal detector and the wireless head set didn’t work. I emailed and they replied with contact Garrett for warranty. I have had it only a week. Never ever again!!! Horrible customer service "

Rude customer service/ They want you to pay return shipping PLUS they deduct $20.00 from your purchase price when you return item!!!!

"I ordered detector from them, shipping was very slow. In mean time I was surprised by my husband who purchased a detector for me for my birthday. By the time detector.com equipment came I got 2 detectors.
I called them asking for return label, I was on hold for over 10 min, after that I got Michael on the phone who stated that they will not send me return shipping label, he started to lecture me about the company policy .
The way they talk to customers is unacceptable, I was shocked to find out it is family business!, how they can afford to treat their customers the way they do ?
After I talked to Michael I went on their website and was contacted by Jim. I told him I need to find out how to submit public feedback for them, he never answered my question. After I stated " I guess I will be looking myself how to give you public feedback" his answer was :" Yes thats what I have been saying :-) " and he disconnected.
I was planning to buy this detector on amazon - same detector , same price , two days free shipping and what a different customer service amazon has !!! I made huge mistake buying this detector from metaldetector.com directly.
If I would buy it on amazon I would have by now returned shipping label in my email and no hassle return process.
With metaldetector.com all what I got was: slow shipping, rude customer service, out of the pocket cost for return shipping plus they are deducting $20.00 from my purchase price for their shipping cost to me !!!!!!.
Never again I will buy anything from them.

Great company to buy from

"Always a great experience to buy from them. Always get what I wanted from them in a timely fashion. Plus, I can spend time on the phone with them before buying and I am never rushed to buy anything."

what a terrible company!

"I ordered Garrett At Max Metal Detector from this company over a month ago and still waiting for it.
All I hear every time I call is this "because this item is Pre-Order people are waiting since May for this item so you are not alone"
Is this is a good reply for customers?
By the way, you can buy it now on Amazon and get in .....2 days!

Not just customer service is bad but online so-called chat is completely useless (go and try anytime yourself) because all they say is : "What is your name and email - someone will get back to you in 1 business day?" and you will never get any of your questions....
answered. It say on their website "Returns and Exchanges Made Insanely Easy" - it is absolutely not true! If you opened item they will charge 20% fee but even you did not but its been over 14 days (obviously in my case because I am still waiting like many other people) then there is no return!!!
I will never buy again from this company!

Beware! They don't accept returns!

"Buyers beware! This isn't the company you want to buy a metal detector from if you're new to metal detecting. If you open the item to try it, they will not allow you to return it. Buy someplace else where they have a more reasonable return policy. That way if your purchase doesn't meet your expectations, you can return it or get something that better suits you. They only help they offer is to tell you to sell it on ebay. "
