"I recently had an issue with my MagicJack VOIP hardware and the company would not send me a new router. I ended up purchasing a new MagicJack. I love the overall service but feel a bit slighted for having to replace company hardware that should have been replaced for free."

"I spent an hour chatting online with a magicJack agent who apparently did not understand English. My magicJack Plus has a low volume (lower than the original magicJack which worked fine). After trying a couple things, I was transferred to a top 10% agent who told me to "CHANGE THE VOLUME ON MY PHONE, BUY AN AMPLIFIED PHONE, AND CONSULT A HEARING SPECIALIST"! They asked me to make many changes to my PC which I did, but I kept explaining that I use the device on my router, not my PC. The changes did nothing to help the volume issue. They will send a new unit, but I had to pay $10.43 for shipping, which does not seem right."

"BEWARE of Magic Jack PLUS! Recently I started getting "error 23" when I'm plugged directly into the Modem (no computer involved).

The error message (voice) says it's a problem with my Internet connection: PROBLEM, I'm receiving the same error message with two separate MJ Plus devices located in TWO different states ! Both of those Internet connections are having a problem ?? :(

Also, if you Google the error, you can see this error has been a problem for a number of years. BUT, when I went to the MJ website, to FAQ, it addressed six different error numbers, NONE OF WHICH ARE ERROR 23, even though it's been a problem for some years, and apparently still an unresolved issue !

Also, I see different posts suggesting the modem is the problem. The problem with those suggestions: both of my MJ's were operational for months (different brand modems in different states) before this error surfaced - with NO hardware modifications.

Also I feel I was overcharged for my most recent purchase. I'll be filing a complaint shortly with the BBB.

"Beware of Magic Jack; in short, it not only has one agree to ads with its paid-for system, but claims that the ads are necessary for it to work. It will also snoop on your calls to target ads more accurately, and has you sign away your legal right to take it to court if it defrauds or otherwise harms you. Delightful. "

"Heard of this product from a friend, thought I would try after reading reviews. Website states 30 day trial but payment was withdrawn as soon as ordered. Took almost 2 weeks to receive which wasnt a problem. Easy to install but I could never get the audio on my end to not be "cutting out" like a stuttering every 2 seconds. Tried all the fixes and updates sveeral times, spent hours in the tech chat and was told I needed an ac powered usb hub. (my computer has usb 2.0) Tried 3 different phones as suggested and nothing would work so I finally submitted for an RMA to return for replacement. Waited almost 2 weeks and hadnt heard anything so went back to tech chat on 04/03/08 and was told they would send replacement out as soon as they received the returned item. I checked and the confirmation stated it was received on 03/27. Was then told that I had made a mistake in my submission for an RMA that it was for refund only. I asked the agent for the link to get a replacement and he never produced it and finally admitted that a link didnt exist. So I am now awaiting the replacement unit in hopes it will work. As the old saying goes " If it sounds too good to be true....."



Got a refund from Magicjack after 4 months. Was issued a full refund including shipping.
