Deceiving website sales

"I just placed over a dozen items in my cart based on their home page add stating an additional 20% Off Regilar Price and Sale Items with code Laborday. I enter the code and no discount is shown. I have several skirts and suits of various brands, and none of those brands or items are listed as excludedon their Details (fine print) document. After being on hold 10 minutes I give the agent several items and for each she says those are already discounted on their special sale. But nowhere does it say that these categories are excluded. Their loss. I'm new to the area and new to LAT, but won't place my $1500 order given this fiasco. "

Terrible Customer Service

"Terrible customer service. Avoid. They don't honor the prices listed on items. They told me that the price on an item I wanted to buy just went up $20 and that they made a mistake on raising the price since yesterday, and that they wouldn't honor the sale at the listed price. Both the of the two staff and manager that I spoke to were horrible people. I now hate Lord and Taylor."

Received wrong item.

"This was my first order from lordandtaylor.com (Lord & Taylor online store). I even signed up for ShopRunner- which I will be canceling- to get 2-day free shipping. The 2-day shipping actually took 3-days. the order was shipped from a store- specifically the Lord & Taylor at Garden State Plaza in Paramus, N.J. The only thing correct about the item I received was the brand and the color. The style, fabric, SKU, barcode and price were obviously completely different. Being in the area of the shipping store at the time, I called the Paramus store and asked if they could locate the correct item for an exchange. The helpful associate said she would look and call back, which she did, but claimed she could not locate the item. I then returned the incorrect item to a different Lord & Taylor store (the in-store associates were fairly helpful).

I sent an email to Lord & Taylor customer service asking if they could locate the item, specifically the Garden State Plaza store which likely still had the item I had ordered. I also specifically mentioned to verify the inventory since their system will probably show the item as not in stock because I was "sold" the last one. It took a few days to receive a response from "Robert M." stating "We do show that the HELLY HANSEN Crew Full Zip Hoodie in Navy in Medium is out of stock at this time." There was no confirmation of physical inventory.

I definitely felt like Lord & Taylor didn't care that I was a customer or that they made an error on my order. Also, if I hadn't been near a store for the return or had used ShopRunner for the shipping, Lord & Taylor apparently does not offer free return shipping even if the incorrect item was shipped. I can't think of a reason that I would attempt another order from Lord & Taylor in the future.

Lord & Taylor...NAVER AGAIN

"This was my first and now last experience with LT. I placed an order last week with 2 day shipping. Got a confirmation email the following day with FEDEX tracking info. So far, so good. That's where it ended. Delivery day comes and goes. No package. Tracking online still shows label created. I email customer service. Two days later and no response. I call customer service. The guy tells me I need to call fedex and track my package. I explain that it shows that fedex hasn't even picked it up. He refused to help any further and said I had to call them. So I did and of course, Fedex doesn't have it. Call customer service back. This time the girl tells me my package shows it went to someone in FL, I'm in TX. She said once they get the package back they will issue a refund. WHAT????? So they screw up, not only did I not get my product but now LT is going to hold my money hostage. She tells me that's their policy. Who does business like this? She then finally says she will request a refund but it will take 7days for that team to issue it. I demand a supervisor. She was nice, but ultimately unhelpful. I have no idea if or when I will ever get a refund for an item they sent to the wrong address. Save your self this nightmare go to Nordstrom. "

poor management

"Very displeased with a company I relied on for quality clothing, but realized the staff was sub-par... for a few years I got great clothing from them, and recently dealt with an operations manager at the Crossgates Mall in Albany that smelt like alcohol....The first time i noticed I even asked them if they had been drinking, and they said..."Had a hard night"...than this past week, AGAIN, the person smelled of alcohol...I asked about some new fragrances and the individual just waved their hand and said "someone over there can help you, I have to go take care of my girlfriend"...If the operations manager is like this, I'm not really looking forward to my next visit...."

Tells you order shipped then cancels it!!!

"I ordered several items on their website. I was supposed to receive free shipping since the amount was over $99, but they charged me $12 for shipping anyway. WTF??? I received an email with a tracking number saying the items were shipped. The next day, I receive an email that "we received your return" and they credited me back the money. Nobody could explain what happened.
The promises of return calls from the customer service associate and "manager/supervisor" that said they were checking into the issue of course were all lies. Most unprofessionally run store ever. Stay away!!!

"online shopping experience was horrible, returned 3 sweaters only revived a credit for 2, when called about it a case number was opened and was advised that this all be resolved in a few days, a month has past with no credit, when called back i was told case was closed, i asked Rep why i was told for no reason. now another case will be open, who knows if i will ever see a credit .

"Do not order anything online from Lordandtaylor! They sent me the wrong item and applied the shipping to my account! I try to contact their customer service but they never answer to my complaints! If you want to pay for their mistakes you are more than welcome!
I want to add that in two weeks and after several e-mails my money was returned.

"Also received a note stating, "Thank you for shopping with us. Your order was handled with care by... ." The outer packaging for the gift set was torn and dented; the packaging for the gift set was perfect, so I can assume they shipped it like so. One of the pieces from the gift set was broken to top it off. I emailed Lord&Taylor -- took about a week to respond, after which, they never responded again.

Also still have a pending charge for a cancelled item (item was no longer in stock) from 4 weeks ago!

"Lord and Taylor (further L&T) provided me the worst shopping experience I ever had. I placed an item on December 15th with two-day delivery option. The item was not delivered on December 17th. It was not delivered on 18th, 19th either. Yesterday was December 21 and I did not get it, today is 22nd and I guess I am not getting it. Last week, I submitted two online inquiries on L&T's website, both said to expect a response within 24 hours. I did not receive any response. I called L&T's customer service, they unexpectedly transferred me to FedEx (like I couldn't call FedEx myself). Throughout the nerve racking process L&T claimed they shipped the item via two-day delivery and FedEx claimed it was a ground shipping (go figure who is not telling the truth). Finally today, FedEx came up with an explanation that the package is lost. After several hours of my time spent on the phone waiting for and talking to L&T and FedEx, after I took my personal time to drive around the Malls to find the same item, FedEx told me "We are sorry, we lost your item!" At which point, I called L&T, because unlike Amazon and others, L&T charged my credit card and took my money at the time of order, December 15. I respectfully asked for refund and compensation for my time lost; at least, I was waiting for a genuine apology from L&T for taking my money and not delivering it on time. While the L&T customer service rep was nice and said that "in his personal view, it is very unfair to me as a customer", he said L&T does not have any other procedure for similar situations, other than refunding money and apologizing. Oh, and for the money part, I asked for a speedy refund, since I don't want to lend my $175 anymore to L&T for doing nothing. He answered: There is nothing I can do, you will receive refund only after 7-10 business days. What a shame.

I guess I am back to Amazon or any other online merchant who actually deliver their items in a timely manner or take responsibility for their or their delivery partners' mistakes.

"I have same experience with the previous reviewers. I ordered Lancôme cosmetics, should come with a free gift. I totally understand the quantity is limited... as written on their web. I thought they would tell me before i place an order or before shipping.

3 hours after i placed an order, Lordandtylor sent me an email: you order has shipped, and also showed a picture of items-to-be-shipped.
"12 hours later", they sent another email: regrettably, we are out of stock of the item....

How strange! They quickly shipped your order first before you can say no, then tell you the truth.
I feel that Lordandtylo is cheating, they do whatever they can to get my money. Once money went to their bank account, Oh, sorry, too bad, so sad , I do not have it.

I am still patiently waiting for the return label that customer rep promised me. Hope they can send me before it is out of stock!

" tried to order my son a winter coat off of their website a week ago, I put my card information in the correct box,but a label popped up on the top screen saying, "unavailable to process payment" ,so I thought Lords and Taylor system had a glitch,so I tried again and the same message popped up,then I called their customer service number and a representative said they only accept credit cards not debit cards,so I was o.k with that information.The next day I was extremely embarrass at store,trying to buy my son a winter coat, because my card was declined! I was confused,so I called my bank, they assured me,Lord's and taylor took two payments of $79.00 off my card!!!! So I call Lord's and taylor immediately! The young lady whom answer the phone wasn't polite! Which is shocking coming from a prestigious company. She told me it was,not a payment for the clothes I purchased and the money will be back on my account in 48hours,she didn't ask my name,email or phone number to a assure me this true of her knowledge.When I was going to tell her my information,she told me to hold on for a moment, I was placed on hold for four minutes,before suddenly she disconnected the line!

I want my money back now! It is cold and my son do not have a coat to wear and he is on public transportation. I am very disappointed in the company and service.
