Worst retail experience I have ever had

"No clue what they are doing. They sent a defective item and it took me 3 months to get the credit back for the returned dress. Dress ordered 10/4/18. Finally resolved 1/17/19 after disputing charge with credit card company, filing BBB complaint and numerous phone calls to customer services and the disputes department. The clothing isn't cute enough, especially when it comes with a hole in it, do ever deal with them again. FYI, they are Urban Outfitters and Anthropology also. Won't deal with any of them again. If you do, don't order online. Must see what your getting first!!!!"

"Customer service is horrible. They screwed up my order 3x and after I fixed it, they sent me an email canceling. Email 3 days after I ordered it for my daughter for Christmas. Item sold out! Lame."

A single sale more important than a loyal customer

"Over the last few years I have spent close to $10k in their stores. You would expect the business to value customers who are loyal and provide revenue. Nevertheless, Their customer service over the past year has deteriorated quite a bit. SO much so, that i have drastically reduced my spending in their stores. A few months back. I purchased an item at full price that was put on sale within 10 days receiving it. I contacted them for the difference and they refused. Instead they sent me a 15% off coupon. Weeks later I purchased an item and attempted to use the coupon and was told it was expired. Moreover, the color I wanted, I was told was not available and would not be available. Less than 48 hours later the color I wanted was available on the website. I was told an exchange was no possible but I could purchase the one I wanted ( I have now purchase the same item twice for approx. $150.00) and I could return the original one. Now when I attempted to return the original purchase (still in the unopened package) I am told that I can only get store credit. I escalated to management, who again stated "NO EXCEPTIONS" Needless to say, they have lost a customer FOR LIFE. Can deceiving customers really be worth $150.00?"

Third time bad experience

"They cancelled my order after receiving money from my account,it's been a week,my money has yet to be returned..they couldn't say why my order was cancelled,nor did they do anything to make this right..my order before this one was a suit and the top and pants were 2 different sizes. Took almost a month to get that right..my suggestion is if you're needing something for special occasion,I wouldn't depend on free people anymore..this is my 3rd bad experience in the last 6months and this brand has been my favorite since before they were a known free people company.."

"I recently purchased some clothes on the free people website and although I love their clothes I have to say the website is pretty bad as well as their customer service. The first mistake was when I went to set up an account because I wanted to buy a few things. I received an email verifying that my account was set up, but then received numerous other emails telling me to sign into their social media on their site. Then when I actually did order, for some reason the website, even though I was signed in, put my order under guest and defaulted to my paypal address, which isn't correct. Then over the last few days the website still doesn't list that I even placed the order, although paypal says freepeople have already received my money. I have been emailing customer service all day and not one person that I have been communicating with (Nathan or Mercedes), has acknowledged that the problem is on the freepeople's side and not mine. No matter how much I love the clothes at a company, if customer service isn't good, they will not have a repeated customer with me. I will never shop with them on line again. I'm sure if their president, CEO, COO or PR person knew how bad they were, I would be having a whole nother experience. We have to ask more, because we are paying for them to exist. "

"Love this brand. I had to wait a little longer for my vegan leather jacket to ship since it was back ordered, but it got to me sooner than Free People had estimated. It was well worth the wait! The quality is gorgeous, and I am thrilled to have my first leather jacket ever.

Definitely making another purchase sooner than later.

"I would absolutely not recommend this company to anyone, especially the line of "vintage" products which are nonrefundable and nonreturnable even with tags etc. The vintage products are way over priced, ill fitting clothing that you can probably find at a thrift shop.There is a small line of tiny type that says Vintage products are not returnable on one page of the web site but the rest of the web site in numerous places proclaims how friendly the company is and how easy it is to return an item-not true. The company is unhelpful and will lose business if they keep operating in this manner. It is so incredible unreasonable to have a policy for jeans to be unreturnable/unexchangable. I am furious."
