"The floor mat takes a few days to arrive because it is coming from Mannheim but it is worth the wait. It arrives rolled up in a strong cardboard box and, once out of the box, all you have to do is cut through one strong plastic band. A word of caution - make sure you are standing on the side away from the studded underneath of the floor mat as this is effectively a coiled spring and the studs are quite pointy - the better to grip the carpet.
When it is in place it seems to stay there with only a slight creep over the first few days. Actually I have bought the large clear floor mat with lip so that it would tuck into the footwell of my desk but because it is an old desk and I didn't bother to measure, the lip turns out to be slightly too big. This should turn out to my advantage when I move my desk back into its final resting place (new carpet coming) as I will tuck the lip under the front of the desk. If I have to pack in some shims to balance the outer edges I don't think it will be a problem and then the mat will definitely not be moving.
The mat itself seems very strong and the chair rolls much more freely than it ever did on my old (destroyed) carpet. When I saw what had happened to my old carpet and underlay I realised I had to do something before trashing the new carpet and this looks like the best mat for the job: tough and discreet. Unlike cheaper mats, it claims not to yellow with age and even if it only lasts 5 years it will have been money well spent when I look at the upheaval and cost I have had emptying out my office to replace the old carpet."

"Mat arrived within few days good quality. Does cut the noise down if washing machine is on a 1000 cycle or less but its still noisy on anything between 1000 &1500. It does, however, stop the vibration of dishes on sink next to it at these speeds. Worth a try. Our floor is wooden, not sure what would be like on concrete flooring."

"I bought a 120cm by 70cm clear polycarbonate floor mat. It was delivered within a few days, it's good quality and wasn't too expensive at around £30 including postage. It's hard-wearing and is doing a great job of protecting the carpet. The reason why I gave four stars overall is that on the website it says that you can cut it to shape. However because it is fairly heavy duty, this is not possible with a normal pair of scissors. Otherwise great product and service."
