Not exactly as advertised

"After ordering my glasses and hearing nothing from the company, I decided to call just to make sure everything was on track. The person I reached at "Customer Service" told me that the frames were on site and the glasses should ship in a couple of days. After not hearing anything after 2 days I called again. This time I was told that the frames I had chosen were discontinued and no longer available. No apology or explanation as to why I was given bad information on my first call. I had to pick another frame rather quickly since I was going out of town and needed the glasses. Now I would think they would expedite my glasses since they dropped the ball on my order, but apparently they were in no hurry. It took another 2-1/2 weeks to get the glasses. To their credit they did overnight ship them at no cost to me, the least they could do. The frames that I got have temples that dig into my head and I have been having one heck of a time adjusting them. Their web site cut off the portion that deals with this issue under adjustments.
In short, if you are looking for good customer service look elsewhere. These are no bargain glasses, I paid over $450 for blended bifocals with darkening lenses. The first pair I bought from Eyebuydirect were better and cheaper and their service was very good. Sorry I switched, but couldn't find the exact frames I wanted. As it turns out I didn't get them anyway.

Poor Service

"I ordered prescription sunglasses 29/7 using PayPal. Despite several attempts to get an update on the order I have received no replies except one setting out their time frame for my order fulfillment - this was amusing as the order was already outside that timeline. I have requested a full refund if they couldn't provide a satisfactory update to which I have received no reply and lodged a dispute through PayPal today. "

VERY Slow and VERY poor Customer Service!

"I placed an order with Eyeglasses.com in March 2018 for a pair of Savile Row, Orford 18Kt, Skull Temples frames. Since then, I have been given the run around and have heard almost every story there is. It's now the middle of August 2018 and I was told the frames were shipping to me last Monday. I called their Customer Service and the guy I talked to had no idea where my order is. I could have ordered the frames from a seller in England and had them months ago. I am NOT pleased with Eyeglasses.com and IF I ever do get my frames, I will NEVER order from them again!"

Deceptive. Credit card information and orders accepted before checking inventory.

"They accept your credit card information and process your order first. You think your order is on the way but hold on. Since they don't keep inventory on many items, subsequently they must check the manufacturer's stock after your order is placed. This practice is deceptive and leads to orders that can't be filled. Frustrating and a complete waste of time. Go somewhere else that checks inventory before your order is accepted."

Non existent customer service!

"I ordered a glass frame from them and several days later they appeared except the wrong frame color and size. i tried numerous times to contact them via chat and email for a week or more and never got any response about my return. They should have paid to have the glasses returned but instead after not hearing from them I mailed them back. So far no credit has been issued to my account. I will try calling them but I find their lack of response to the contact methods provided on their web site to be very annoying. Now I will have to go through the process of disputing the charges with my credit card company, etc. just to make sure i get my money back for something that was their mistake. Grrrrrrrr."

You pay for what you get

"I don't usually take the time to write web reviews, but some of the reviews here that refer to Amazon are unrealistic. Ordering glasses is never the quickest experience, especially when ordering quality product. Frames (sometimes) have to be ordered from the frame's company (I always need smaller sizes, which I've never found in stock any optical store), lenses have to be made and the final product must be inspected before being given to you. Would you expect to able to order a car with the exact customizations you'd like and have the keys in your hands in 48 hours like we've grown to expect from places like Amazon? No. Yes, there can be a short wait for the glasses to come in and lenses to be made, but I expect that for quality product. There is no other place I'd be able to get genuine (and high quality) Tom Ford frames at the price eyeglasses.com sells them at. Yes, their website is a little hard to navigate and could certainly be updated to match the flashy sites we've grown used to, but there's usually always someone available to answer questions and they've always been super responsive to questions I have. If you want something instantly, buy it in store at a higher price or buy a lesser quality knock-off product on Amazon."

Shrewsbury loves Eyeglasses.com

"In Shrewsbury MA, there are a lot of people I know that use Eyeglasses.com, which is how I found out about it. My friends all use it so I gave it a try and was very impressed. It did take some time to educate myself about eyeglasses and how to buy lenses, but know that I know more, I know how to save money and not get ripped off either by the big chain stores, or by my eye doctor. And I can buy from a huge selection of brand names so its way better than the generic stuff you get at the cheap 2 for 1 places."

GREAT PRODUCTS, GREAT SERVICE, AND GREAT PRICES

"I have beeen a loyal customer of eyeglasses.com for over 5 years and I would recommend anyone I know to shop there. Not only are the prices half that of retail stores, but the brands and lenses are quality. They have an incredible selection as well. They care deeply about their customers, and the service is great (I recently sent my old frames with my new perscription to swtich the lenses, and they sent them back to me within a week). Why shop anywhere else?"

Best eyewear store I have tried

"There are advantages and disadvantages about buying eyeglasses online. Advantage is that there is a big selection; disadvantage is that you can't get them right away. I just got my third set of glasses from eyeglasses.com and it has always been a good experience for me. Good brands and good lens quality. Sometimes there is a delay but it is always worth it. I am a loyal customer especially as there are some shady stores out there and I don't want to mess with my eyes. Prices are half of retail stores, so it works for me."

"I had a great experience with eyeglasses.com. I sent in my old frames with my prescription to have new lenses put in. It took about a week to be competed plus shipping time. Little less than two weeks. Prescription is great. "
