"I got scammed.

I wish I had read these reviews before sending my battery to this company (which, by the way, is suspiciously now using three different names: eBattery, BatteryRefill.com and BatteryRebuild.com)

I sent my battery in on May 21 and did not hear from them for 2 weeks. I called at that time, and they said they were "still working on it". For the next few weeks, I attempted to contact the company several times a week (email and phone messages), but never heard back from them and would be routed from one recorded phone message to another when calling during business hours.

6 weeks later, the company contacted me and told me that my battery was fixed and ready for shipment. I was suspicious and afraid to pay them, but this time, I was able to talk to someone and he assured me that I could get a refund if there were any problems through google check out.

I got my battery today, and it doesn't work. After reading these reviews about people not getting their money back, I submitted my google checkout request and asked my credit card company to withdraw the payment.

By the way, I now looked this company up on the Better Business Bureau. They have an F, with 143 recorded complaints. Mine will be #144.

"The battery I sent in was from a Winbook laptop model C226. It took a good month to get the battery back and when I did get it back it did not physically fit into the laptop due to improper reassembly of the battery case. I contacted their support via email (forget the phone, never answered) and they provided a shipping label to return the battery. I provided a photograph of exactly what was the problem which even compared the repaired battery to an original battery. The second time I received the battery it still did not physically fit into the laptop having pretty much the same assembly issue as the first time. Big intermediate step here consisting of me doing the what was necessary to fit the battery into the computer only to find out the battery would not charge no matter how long it was left on the charger. The last straw. I safely disposed of the battery and wrote the whole experience off as a case of bad judgement. The lesson is if your battery is on its last legs, buy a new one from a reputable source."

"In August 2008 I received mobilization orders to go to Iraq. The battery for my laptop was not lasting as much as it used to, so I decided to send it to ebattery, Inc to get it refilled prior to my departure in September, 2008.
Needless to say, when I returned home on leave for 10 day in December 2008, I had no refilled battery, no old battery, and no $99.00 refund.
During my 10 days leave over the holidays, I tried calling this company several times with no avail. I sent them e-mails instead.
I went back to Iraq on January 2nd and my wife told me that my old battery was returned but no money.
Since I have been in Iraq, I have called them several times and no answer. I think that I have spent about $20.00 worth of calling cards calling them but no answer.
One time, I was able to speak with a guy name Tony, and he promised me that I was going to get my money back by 18 May.
My e-mails have gone un-answered, my voice messages ignored, and I am out the usage of my laptop while they kept my battery hostage, $99.00 fee which they were fast charging to my credit card and about $20.00 or more worth of calls from Iraq.
This is the worst company I have dealt with and I just got done filing a complaint with the Attorney General of California, and after this I will file a complaint with the FBI internet scam division and with the California Post Master.
STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY. THEY ARE A SCAM!

"DO NOT USE THIS VENDOR!!!
They took my money and my battery over 5 months ago and consistently lied every time I contacted them about its status. They eventually returned my battery - it's now damaged. They promised the money back in 21 MORE days but that was two months ago and STILL no refund.
THESE PEOPLE ARE LIARS AND THIEVES!!!
Do not under any circumstances believe their slick website.

By 9/19/08 Still no Battery I inquired again. A week later I recieved this response: Dear customer,

We are informing you that your battery is in progress at this point and our tech is servicing your battery with several others. Our technician will need about 3-4 days to recell and finalize your battery to make sure everything is in working condition. If we encounter any kinds of problems with your circuit, we'll contact you immediately. We appreciate your patience with us Mr. Rosenzweig. Your battery should be shipped out towards the middle of next week. We'll ship your battery priority mail and they will email you a confirmation when it's shipped on those days. Thank you for your time and have a great day!

After two more e-mails I recieved this response on 10/24/08 (A month Later):Dear Customer:

Your battery has been carefully taken care of, and you will soon be sharing the benefit of 20 to 40% longer battery life in one single charge compared to an original manufactured battery. We recommend you completely charge and completely discharge a minimum of 5 times so your battery cells will reach their full potential

Please don’t hesitate to refer someone to our service. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to give us a call at 1-909- 947-3686, M-F 10am to 4pm, PST or email at ****@****.

Best Regards,
BatteryRefill.com

Well guess what - on 4-3-09 it quit again without warning. When I took the battery out, to possibilty re-seat it, it fell apart. Of course I've tried to contact them AGAIN, and of course NO RESPONSE. Their products are truely GARBAGE.

"On November 20, 2008 I ordered a refill for my PowerBook laptop battery.

Their website stated:

“Fast turnaround time.”

“We can finish the refill service and have your refilled battery sent back to you in 7-10 business days after receiving your battery. Please allow approximately two weeks to complete the process. (After placing your order one week's time is needed to have your battery shipped to us and returned to you. It takes on average another week to refill and properly test your battery before it is sent back.)”

I received no word from them other than the computer generated email notification of December 2nd, stating that my battery had been received. I assumed that because of the holidays, it would take longer to complete the process.

What follows, is the email correspondence with eBattery, A.K,A. BatteryRefill.com from the last four months. To date (3/29/09), I have not received a refund! I will update this complaint when and if I receive a refund check.

You must BEWARE of this company!

January 30, 2009

Dear Mr. G. R.,

We are so sorry about the long delay and inconvenience. We did get new
shipment of cells in, but however our technician is having a hard time with
your circuit component. Our technician have to make sure all testings for
mah, capacity, voltage, and data comes out with the right information, but
somehow your battery keeps showing low mah (low capacity charge). Give our
technician up to four business days to see what we can do for your circuit
component. We might have to order you a new circuit at no additional cost
for the long delay. Once it's serviced and completed, an email confirmation
will be sent to you. We really appreciate your patience. We'll email you
with an updated notice within four business days! Thank you for your time
and have a blessed day!

at this point, is to have my money returned and to end the business
arrangement I made with you.

Thank you,

So, I have to wait on top of waiting for months, to get my money
returned for services you were unable to perform? I do not want to
wait to get some check reviewed by anyone nor do I wish to wait for
your CEO to look at it and later sign it. Two weeks is unacceptable! I
want you to issue a check this week or return the money to my Visa
account.

I was patient with your slow service. At the time, I wished to give
you the benefit of the doubt. But at present, I feel you are taking
advantage of me. Please return my money at once. I do not wish to wait
weeks more!

March 6, 2009

Dear Mr. R.,

We're sorry, but it's passed 60 days since you've placed the order, so
theres no way we can issue the refund through your credit card. The refund
check has to go through the process of review before we can get the check
signed off, and mailed out to you Mr. R. Please be a little more
patient and you will receive your refund check shortly. Thank you for your
time and have a great day!

"I paid ebattery $79 on 11/25/08 via an online order to replace the battery cells for my hp 3 year old laptop. They immediately sent me a pre-paid overnight package to send them the battery. After not receiving anything from e-battery by 1/15/09, I called them and was told that my battery cells were on back-order and it would take a couple of weeks to complete my order. As of 2/23/09 I had not received my battery or any information regarding the status of my battey. Attempts to contact the company resulted in finding that the phone numbers I had for ebattery were no longer in service nor were the many other numbers I found for ebattery online. The one active number I could find only had a recorded messgage about their hours of operation. I got this message during the hours of operation. I filed a claim on with the California Better Business Bureau on 2/25/09. On 3/6/09, ebattery returned my battery. However, the battery is in the same condition as when I sent it in November 2008. ebattery has not refunded my $79. "

"Tried to get an update on my order today. All the company numbers have been disconnected. Last week I finally was able to talk to a live person and was told my order would be shipped Priority Mail on Thursday. Now, I doubt I'll ever see my battery again. I did find several websites with warnings about this company. It appears they are out of business for good."

"Purchased a refill service through Ebay. After two months and 4 emails, they have yet to respond or to send my battery. Paypal says that it is after their "magic" 45 day period, so it looks like I'm out $109. Something has happened to this company recently because they provided good service to a friend of mine two years ago. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY. THEY ARE CROOKS NOW."

"I sent my battery for a Sony Vaio laptop (purchased 4/2002) in December. They were the type that were recalled due to overheating, but mine weren't recalled. I contacted them a few months later, and they said there was a short delay. I lost track of it, because I bought a new laptop in April. I didn't realize until now that they had charged my credit card already. I contacted them about my battery and they said they would send "one of their own(?)" right away - never received anything. Still trying to contact them now that I have found my email and my charge card charge. Very unsatisfied - based on seeing what everyone has been through."

"People, I am feeling your pain. Just about every complaint I have read is exactly what I have experienced. I will keep this short. The only way we are going to get any results is to hit this company Ebattery in the pocket book. We need to put them under. Here is what I did. I made the purchase through paypal so that is where I started. I searched the PP website for my transaction ID number. I did not find it. I called PP and was told that when you send money it does not give you a Transaction ID number unless you are signed on to your account. Word to the wise, if you are going to sned money sign on. SO if you staring at the PP home page and you click on sned money be sure you are logged in. Nuf said. Because I did not have a transaction ID number I open a "non receipt case". This does not garuntee you will get your money back. What it does is place a hold on ebatteries account for the amount of the refund which PP said would make them more inclined to pay. In addition if PP gets enough of these complaints ebattery says goodbye to there PP account.
I then spent the time and made a complaint to the Better Business Bureau. I think I spent about 10 min filling out the form online. Not sure what to expect from that. PS that are rated an F company. Shame on me for not checking.
I then hit a home run by contacting my credit card company. This will take no more that ten minutes, 5 if you don't bs with the person on the other end of the phone. Again the credit card company gets enough complaints, there goes that option to pay and it hits them where it counts. What I cant understand is how come this company does not get shut down. Most frustrating doing business with them. Out of the hundreds of online and over the phone transactions I have made I never wanted to punch anyone in the throat before I called ebattery. If you have had any reservations please do not call these people there are other options. Keep googling them.
