This company has NO IDEA about customer service.

No response to e-mails, and never returns calls.

This site is nearly as crap as the supplier as the n/a button does not work on prices; and whilst this suppliers prices are attractive because they do not supply the cost is extortionate...

Reported to Trading Standards for poor performance and taking money on false pretences.

Hopefully they will get shut down and protect others from dealing with such a rubbish supplier."

"I was concerned over some of the reviews i've read online, and have been biten before through some online sales abroad. I must admit though, I was happy with the customer service, they chased for details that were missing and said that the goods would be with me within 1-2 days, and they were. Just unpacked it all, everything is present, and all comes with bags that are surprisingly good quality. Haven't tested the gear itself, but for the price I paid I wasn't expecting that much. I'm quite impressed with what I have got for my money to be honest."

"This company is the worst possible shopping experience you can imagine. Firstly... the products are fine, but not as described. Described as;

"White backdrop kit is a self contained studio kit suitable for commercial photography, videography, interviews, digital and family portraits. Easily stored and transported in one carrying case."

That is just simply not true. The backdrop stand comes in a case (a pretty nice case to be fair!) but it exactly fits the backdrop stand in it, and only the backdrop stand.
You've then got to carry;
2 x Light Stands (2.5ft collapsed each!)
2 x Soft boxes (pretty lightweight and compact but that's not the point!!)
2 x Light Heads (1ft long, and pretty weighty!)
and the actual backdrop itself, which although is Muslin so folds it's 3m x 4.5m so it clearly doesn't fold down to stick in your pocket!

There's nothing "self contained" about that. Nor is it "Easily stored and transported in one carrying case." I confronted the company about this (see my second point) and they said that certain kits do come in one big bag, but this one does not and that they can "only assume the description of a kit that does was used to describe this kit." He mentioned phrases such as "Copy & Pasting the product descriptions" (from a different kit containing different products?! Yep, that's bound to be error free?!!?), he also said "it doesn't specifically say which parts of the kits fit into the one bag", to which I said, "Are you telling me it's deliberately worded ambiguously to make the product seem more attractive to the customer?" and he said "It's called Marketing". If you want to deal with that company then go for it!

Secondly, the website implies it's based in Hampshire, they give you a Hampshire address (which if you read carefully is the warehouse, so they're covering their backs "legally" but still, morally I don't like it) and a 020 telephone number, but that directs you to Singapore without you realising. I only know this because it was a very bad line and very strong accent, and I asked where they were and the guy just completely ignored me, so I asked again and was completely ignored again, at the third time of asking he admitted they were in Singapore. I then called a different 020 number on the website and started the conversation with "Hi, have I reached the Hampshire office or is this still Singapore?" and the answer was, "this is UK backdrop source", "Yes I know, but it's this Hampshire or Singapore?", to which he hung up on me. I asked for a manager to contact me and 4 times was told it would be half an hour, and 4 times no call back.

Thirdly, only half my order arrived, and the half that came was wrong (500watt bulbs not 1000wt). I'm still waiting on the other half and have been promised Monday.

I know all companies have bad reviews and good reviews, and the price of some of their stuff might make you think "I'll risk it!" but please don't. They're not necessarily doing anything "illegal" which is the most frustrating part but they certainly are not a company with any sort of moral compass and really deserve to be driven out of business by a complete boycott.

If you chose not to order from this company, you deserve to sleep a little better tonight knowing you've done the right thing."

"Terrible service - It's been 2 weeks now since the order and each time I contact them they say "It will be dispatched tomorrow and there in a couple of days" - complete lies. They have just now sent me false DHL tracking numbers (I phoned DHL to check and DHL have no record of the delivery = it's fake numbers!). AVOID THIS ORGANISATION LIKE THE PLAGUE!"

"Ordering from backdropsource.co.uk has been the worst on-line shopping experience I've ever had. I tried to buy a photography continuous lighting set. I say "tried" because it's yet to arrive and no refund has been processed to my credit card despite multiple requests. Their customer service is worse than non existant. I've been given four DHL tracking numbers, none of which is recognised by DHL. Every time I've called there's been a different excuse and several contradictions.
