Dishonest, unethical and untrustworthy company.

"In August of 2018, I purchased a Uniden BCD536HP from zipscanners. After working for over two months to try to get acceptable reception on a local trunked system with no success, I contacted zipscanners. They informed me that this model was incapable of receiving simulcast broadcasts. This, of course, was not what I wanted to hear, and after several phone conversations an agreement (via e-mail)was made wherein I would return the BCD536HP, and for an additional payment of approx. $200, they would send me a newer model that would do the job. Less than 24 hrs. later, they reneged on this offer(which I had accepted), and each of the following communications I received from them wanted more money than the one prior. We have finally reached an impasse wherein I am back where I started. For your own good, do not walk away from this company, RUN."

They definitely deserve the rave reviews

"Purchased here due to reputation. They definitely deserve the rave reviews I read, they earned one from me also. Exceptional knowledge and procurement of item to me. I got the program 2 counties and one press start options (I’m new to scanners and this is my first one) and in 30 seconds out of the box I was happily scanning my city, with zero issues. Highly recommend, these guys and gals are top shelf."

Shop elsewhere

"I chatted & emailed support with a list of presale questions on a Uniden SDS100 scanner. They were helpful with most of the questions I had. I specifically asked how long hipping would take and was told the item was in stock and an order placed over the weekend would ship on Monday. This is where everything fell apart. I don't believe they stock anything. They couldn't tell me when the product would arrive. I told them I needed to know to ensure someone would be home to sign for it. No idea, no guarantee. So I don't believe they actually have the product in hand otherwise they'd have a handle on when it would ship and how long it would take to my zip code. The icing on the cake is that they get to take 3-5 business days to return the money to my account. They claim customer service is their priority but my experience has left me productless, waiting for my refund. Joel helped with presale questions and was knowledgeable. Jessie was the one giving me the runaround about how he had to talk to the warehouse and kick it up a level in the company. Steer clear!"

"Extreamly slow shipping, terrible coustomer service, never answer the phone.
Stay away from this business. If you see any good reviews, zipscanners must have reviewed themselves. Buy from anyone else!

Horrible Customer Service, Poor Shipping/Packing

"Friend and I ordered same the scanners. Both were shipped via USPS Flat Rate Shipping.

One to California and on to Hawaii. The cost of shipping both are $12.85 as of this writing.

ZipScanners offers Free Shipping on $99+ orders.

They charged me $45 to Hawaii. I expected it to be shipped via UPS/FedEx due to the lithium battery. Turns out they shipped it the exact same way (at the exact same cost to them) to me, but charged me a $45.00 premium.

I kindly pointed this out to them, that the cost was the same, and they refuse to admit that this is correct. I gave them the URL of USPS's website showing Flat Rate costs are the same to all 50 states but Jessie H. from support claims they pay more than what is posted on USPS's website.

Just straight up lying to me about shipping costs.

On top of all of that, they just tossed a $650.00 scanner into the box, with 4-5 crumpled sheets of paper on top of the scanneras packing material. Forget that the bottom of the scanner was unsupported/protected as there was no packing material in the bottom of the box.

Shop around, Amazon is cheaper most times, and much better service.

False Advertising

"Advertised that a scanner was in stock and ready to ship. Their website said that if I ordered on 6/6 then it would ship 6/7 and there was no need to call that the webpage would be updated when supply was gone. They lied and false advertised because they never even had it in stock and there shipment didn't arrive. It's now 6/8 and they can't tell me when it will ship. BAD SERVICE AND FRAUDULENT PRACTICES"

Company knows their stuff, but be certain of what you want

"I was shopping for the top-of-the-line Uniden scanner, and discovered this company while watching instructional YouTube videos. Their list price is higher than Amazon, but the total price worked out to be equal since they don't have to collect my state's hefty sales tax. I figured I might as well support a small business since I enjoyed their videos, plus they offer lifetime technical support for the scanners. Be aware they will call after your order is placed and try to upsell you on the $40 programming service, despite the fact a $460 scanner is smart enough to just need your zip code.

They must be busy calling people since it took a full weekend and then two business days to get my package in the mail. While waiting for the package, I was besieged with promotional and Q&A emails. When the scanner finally arrived, it was in a recycled Amazon box they had used to order something for their business! So has others have noted, a lot of their accessories are just marked up Amazon items with a lousy return policy.

I would buy from them again because of their expertise -- but would still skip the accessories. Be certain of the model and capabilities you order since there is a 15% restocking fee on returns. If you're new to scanners, definitely take advantage of their knowledgeable staff to find the right device and even program it.

False advertising and lousy customer service

"Exact same problem a previous writer. Scanner Holder didn't work and they blamed me for the problem. The holder package doesn't say anything about scanners - but does work with cell phones. The price they charged is $10 higher than Amazon. I ordered through ZipScanners but the items were sent by Amazon. So I couldn't even return them. What a scam. What a Rip-Off. "

Stay away

"I bought the Vehicle cup holder mount SKU MCUPMP
for $29.99 plus $6.99 shipping. It did not hold my $440.00 scanner as well as I thought it should. It was shipped from Amazon so I went to return it I found the selling price on Amazon is $10.15 with FREE shipping. Yup I paid $26.83 more from Zip Scanners. When I tried to return it they wanted me to pay a 15% restocking fee on something that came from Amazon. When I questioned them I got this. “ All returns are subject to a 15% restocking fee. As a very small business we cannot be a showroom for scanners” Save yourself the aggervation DON’T SHOP AT ZRIP OFF SCANNERS

GREAT!!!

"I spent about 25 minutes with a representative of this company going over my requirements for my new Whistler TRX-2 scanner. I had specific requests for the programming and they happily accommodated me with no additional charges. The scanner arrived in just a few days and its worked well, right out of the box. I think that one of the local police dispatch channels is missing and when I have time, I'll call them and have them walk me through the steps to add this channel.
