"I was not happy with the quality of crocheted kippas I purchased. The designs are nice but the weaving/material is poor. I bought 9 hand-knit kippas (Halakhot Gedolot
Zivit,Lehitraot,Recanati,Beit Shemesh,Mishmar HaSharon,Erev Tov,Klezmer,Cacha cacha)and they were all extremely thin material. The plain black one was actually an oddly thick material which I don't like - not the standard black kippa sruga. From afar it might not be so obvious but on some the knitting was loose enough that, when held in hand, one could see between the weave. The kippas were inexpensive and maybe you could get away with it. I wore one on Rosh Hashana cuz I didn't want to wear my aging [blue] weekday one and this is what I had. I haven't worn one since.

If you're an Orthodox Jew and you're used to good quality knit kippas with a tight weave and good material, at least these kippot mentioned were just inferior. If you wear kippahs every day, these are probably not what you are used to. If you're reform and don't mind wearing the crazy silk freebies [fold-crease showing] in synagogue, these will be a vast improvement.

Return is not really a great option for small orders considering you have to ship back to Israel. Not a huge loss, but I just wasn't satisfied. I spent a ton of time comparing these to my regular one to convince myself that they are OK. But they're not, and my family agrees."
