Bad experience

"I ordered a book of sheet music and when I received it I noticed that it was badly damaged. The packaging was not very good, just some cardboard with no bubble wrap or anything.

I have tried to talk to them on the phone and it is impossible, you always get a voice mail that refers you to the web page. I have put a complaint on the website and they still haven't answered me and it's been more than a week.

Horrible customer service, returns at own expense

"I ordered a score from Woodbrass and since the photo didn't match the description (voice range was different) I asked them to check I will get the right version before sending it out. They didn't and went on to send the wrong book which took a month to arrive! In the end I had to pay to send the book back and I would have needed to pay also the postal fees for the right book to be sent to me. Of course I didn't agree and so the book was left in their store and after three months of the slowest and we-don't-give-a-**** customer service ever I got a refund (not covering the extra postal fees I had paid). Never again. There are better music stores available. Use them."

Thieves

"I bought a black seymour duncan TB-59, but they sent me a pickup that did not correspond with the website photo after nearly three months. After complaining they asked to send it back and ask for refund, and order a new one via the link they sent me. They sent me a continental adaptor and only after complaining they sent me the correct pickup. However, I've never received the refund from the first order, although they sent me an email saying that it has been refunded. Now they closed the case! Stay away from these thieves!"

Fantastic Product but Terrible Customer Service

"Ordered a keyboard bundle and should have arrived within 5 days. Took a month to get everything in 3 different deliveries, after much chasing. Had to phone the company based in France to try and get some information after receiving an incomplete package. Took ages to reply to me with vague information. However, the product is fantastic. They just need to sort out their customer service and communication."

"I'm still trying to get my money back from Woodbrass after they took my money for an item that was not in stock (stated in stock when order placed). After many lost hours trying to phone them they did agree to cancel my order. I have now instigated visa disputes to try and get my money back as after two weeks there is still no sign of the funds reaching my account.

Do not trust this company. Pay a bit more and use a reportable uk company instead

"Bought a 7 string Ibanez guitar from them. Guitar arrived cosmetically damaged. It even stated on the Ibanez quality control certification that it was cosmetically damaged. They instructed me to send it back. Returned it back to them, paying the cost. They are now trying to claim that it's not damaged and just imperfections in the wood. 2 weeks later they're now saying they won't refund the guitar, or send me a replacement, and that my only options are to take the damaged guitar or take a refund -10%. They're also now saying they won't refund the return postage they've already agreed to pay.

I can't advise you to avoid this company enough. I just wish I'd found this page before I ordered my instrument.

"If you are buying from the UK, please be careful. I ordered a rather expensive digital drum kit. After a number of enquiries it transpired that the kit was not in stock and would not be available for some months. I cancelled the order, but suffered significantly on the foreign exchange movement between sterling and euros. Despite the cancellation being the company's fault, they have refused to refund the difference, and the staff have actually been pretty indifferent, borderline rude. I bought the same kit from some very friendly and clued up people at Yamaha's London store - for the same price!"

"I bought drums from Woodbrass.com 2 weeks ago, and yeah they got stuck at a collection point 40 km away from my house, because there was a problem with the address (they probably misspelled it). Tried to call the customer service several times, however they never picked up letting me waiting for more than 5 mins each time on an international call. I THEN TRIED WITH EMAILS, they got back to me once every 4 emails I sent them saying there was no problem. AS A RESULT my drums now are travelling back to FRANCE, and it is difficult for me to get in touch with anyone. WORST customer service ever, as an advice is better spend 50 € more at the music shop than having this pain going on for half a month. PS my drums are not still here..."

"Can't recommend this shop at all. I ordered a ligature for an alto sax and they sent one for a soprano. Took over 2 weeks to get a reply to my complaint, and they want me to pay for return postage. Communication not by email, but via their website only. And everywhere they insert French stuff, although the order was placed on their German website and delivered to an address in Germany. Can not call this customer service. Conclusion: Stay away from Woodbrass.com. In the meantime I ordered the ligature again from thomann.de for a cheaper price and got the correct product within a few days. "
