Zero Stars

"Ordered a registry gift and requested it be sent to me. It was completed by the registry dept and sent instead to the registrant. Called immediately and was told nothing could be done. Customer service left me a voicemail last week which I saved stating that it would be rerouted back to the store and I would be refunded and able to purchase it and have it sent to me. Have been waiting for the refund. The extension left on the voicemail is not valid. Just received an email stating it was delivered to the registrant- customer service disconnected me 3 times. Had been a good customer over the years and will never purchase a thing at William Sonoma again. I am livid."

Customer Service? What service?

"I purchased a pair of kitchen shears in the Winter Park, FL store in April, 2019. Whenever I would try to use them, the blades would separate as it is the type of shear that come apart for cleaning. It would not stay together so I was never able to put them to use.

I live a distance from Winter Park so I was not able to return them in a timely manner. I had the shears with me as well as the original receipt . Since the shears were defective, I expected that I would get a store credit but was told that it is the store policy no refund/no exchanges after 30 days. I realize that I was well past my 30 day refund policy which is understandable but no store credit for shears I can’t use? Williams Sonoma has $20.00 of my money and have no product from your store. It’s as though I walked in off the street and handed over $20 for nothing.

I will never shop again in a Williams Sonoma store. I was treated like dirt so that won’t happen again!

Nightmare

"I wanted to order the Wolf coffee maker and Wolf four slice toaster. I did it online where it showed that I could get 20% off if I opened a William Sonoma credit card. The order was sizable so I opened the card and the order showed my discount and went through. 12 days later I get my credit card but no product. When I called William Sonoma I spent over 20 minutes with their "customer service." They had no record of the order. That's impossible, I did it in conjunction with opening the credit card and I saw it go through. So after 12 days, I spoke with a very rude Mike (who refused to further identify himself) and did nothing to remedy the situation. I order a lot of things on line and have always found it to be a great experience. William Sonoma is the hell hole of the internet with the appropriately rude follow through. Stay away or make sure you don't need the item anyway...and whatever you do, don't fall for the "open a credit card" with us scheme."

Don't order because they don't deliver

"This company has the very worst delivery of any company I have ever done business with. As is the case with most Americans, I spend a lot of money buying online. This is not a new problem. For me,
it goes back to 2010. Happened again with an order in June 2018 and now again in 01/2019. This would not seem excessive except for the fact that these are 3 of the approx. 5 orders I have placed with them during this expanse of time. I have become so incredibly frustrated and dissatisfied that I have decided that I will no longer give Williams and Sonoma ANY business from my family. They need to TOTALLY revamp the way that they handle mail orders. I VERY STRONGLY ADVISE AGAINST ANYONE DOING ANY MAIL ORDERS WITH THIS COMPANY FOR ANY THING!!!!!!!!!

"Terrible customer service at Reston store in va, on December 23. We were told the store is closed while we were looking at some display and the sale person show us the door pointing to it. Told us to get out and come back tomorrow, it was 6 pm and they are closed. We will never step in this store again."

Terrible customer service

"I bought a scan pan set with a "lifetime warranty" but when i returned one pan to the store I bought it at I was told I have to deal direct with WS customer service as they couldn't deal with it. I called and got someone who sounded like they were in India and was told that I had to claim against the manufacturer directly not WS as they only sell the pans not make them !!!! unbelievable !! she told me the information was on the box !!!! so I told here I dont keep the boxes of stuff I buy for 1/1/2 years or more !! end of useless conversation !!
Dont buy from WS once they have sold you a product you are on your own !!

Cancelled a confirmed order

"I ordered two baskets online at their advertised price. I received a confirmation that my order was processed and confirmed. The next day, I received a cancellation of the order because they posted an incorrect price on their website. Customer service was no help and stood by the cancellation. Guess where I won't be shopping anymore???"

Do not buy at this web site.

"Poor customer service. I requested to cancel the order- I accidentally pushed the 'place oder' button. It has no 'review section before place order. I realized that it was mistakenly purchased. I called them to cancel the order, but they told me they could not cancel the order. Amazing customer service and cancelation policy.

They also offered several discount coupon on their website BUT once shipping fee is applied..the price is amazingly going up. Be careful.

Please shop elsewhere; you are better than Williams-Sonoma

"I've been a long-time brand loyalist of both Williams-Sonoma and Pottery Barn. But after 6 months of headaches dealing with their fumbling and bumbling around a sofa purchase, they've lost my business for a lifetime. It's an exhausting story, so I'll save you the details, but understand they failed at every level of sales, customer service, fulfillment, and communication, and I have no couch after 6 months of weekly communications. I hope you join me in shopping somewhere--anywhere--else. "

Poor customer service and will not ship products for months

"Hello everyone, I recently decided to purchase a frying pan online from Williams & Sonoma, as they were advertising 20 % off the product. I ordered the frying pan on December 2nd, and after paying shipping, say there was a memo stating it could be approx. 10-15 business days. I calculated the approximate arrival date to be December 15th - 22nd.
I have been actively waiting for an update, but after a number of days, I found my order still remained as "Pending Fullfillment" and have yet to receive a response. I decided to email customer service a number of days ago, but did not get an answer as to the status of my order. I then emailed again, then called their customer service to only wait an hour to hear, "There is nothing we can do, you cannot talk to a supervisor, we cannot expedite your order, and your order still has not even left our warehouse and may take a number of days until it even ships, which then you need to calculate the 10-15 business day in addition to that". In addition, they would not even allow me to cancel my order to buy it somewhere else. I left the call requesting to speak with a supervisor, which the customer service rep assured me that they do not have any control over this either, and would not provide me with anyone else's contact information to address my concerns with.
This is completely unacceptable, and I wanted to warn others of this terrible customer service as they are not obligated to ship your product until it is convenient for them, and should that take an excessive amount of time, you just have to wait it out. If I knew what I know now, I would have never bought anything from Williams and Sonoma, and will ensure that I do not return to this store again as the overall customer support/experience is extremely poor!

poorly packed so my purchase arrived shattered

"I purchased a high end pottery bread baker through the website. The carton was huge, but the actual baker box was small. It was insufficiently padded, so the baker box was sliding all over the place. I could hear the rattling of the broken pottery when the box was delivered. I called customer service and they emailed me info on printing out a return slip. This did not work. It said the item was not eligible for return. I called back, and the cs said she requested that another return slip be emailed to me. I am still waiting for it. Meanwhile i have a shattered yet expensive pottery bread baker. In addition to this, WS canceled 3 orders of mine, in the past 2 months stating that the price stated on the website, was an error. I wonder how this company stays in business, with such poor customer service. There are plenty of other places to do purchase from. If I order the bread baker as a gift (wedding registry, or holiday) I would be extremely embarrassed. "
