"I had a genuine issue and immediately I was spoken to as if there isn't possibly any way there could be an issue with a hundred dollar bolt carrier that's supposed to be the best in the world. This was my first toolcraft bolt carrier group and it was dlc. The inside of the gas key was only coated for the first few mm's and inside the carrier where the bcg goes there was metal showing towards the back and the coating wasn't uniform. I honestly believe many people don't thoroughly inspect their bolt carrier groups and they wouldn't know any better even if they did. If you can see silver or rainbow looking colors that is bare metal showing. If you really want to check throw it in a ultrasonic jewelry cleaner and leave some water inside the gas key and on any areas you believe to be uncoated, and they will rust. It's too bad if this is normal for toolcraft bcg's, I would've bought two more right away. I'm going to buy a sionics nickel teflon carrier or a youngs or microbest chrome carrier.

Supposedly original ar's were designed with chrome bcg's and as a cost savings measure the military decided to coat only the gas key and inside the carrier by the bolt. They found out they could still retain eighty percent of the benefit by doing so. The most important areas are inside the gas key and inside where the bolt goes.

**ETA** Toolcraft said to me the carrier key was defective. Unfortunately wcarmory was messaging them at the same time and toolcraft sent the new replacement bcg to the wrong address and not the address I used to send the bcg to them. Thanks again WCarmory. I'd recommend sionics np3 bcg's they are a tier 1. There is no way toolcraft can make the best in the world with the best coatings available at this price point. Also the owner asks customers to leave reviews here but to not state that you were asked by the owner to leave the review. That's real honest"
