"I ordered a desk pedestal as part of my home office remodel for $54.79 and paid $79.95 for shipping. Five days later I started to get worried because the “in process” status had not changed but it was charged to my credit card so I called customer service for an update only to be told they couldn’t tell me anything more than what the web site said. I asked to confirm that the item was in fact on hand only to be told she’d check with the warehouse and get back to me. That didn’t happen. I waited a couple more days and tried again only yielding the same results. Then to my shock I got a call from a shipping company saying they had a package to deliver and came the next day. Wares Direct seemingly has no clue as to what’s going on in their own company but at least I was done with them, or so I thought. Today I get my desk together and my computer up and running only to see 2 e-mails (dated a week apart) from Wares Direct saying that the shipping was actually $110.75 followed by “Our shipping policy states that our shipping fees are BEST ESTIMATES only, but we are still sorry when we must contact our customers, and we apologize for this inconvenience to you at this time. In order to cover the increased shipping fees on this order, we will need an additional $30.80. Please authorize the additional payment needed for shipping and we will make the additional charge using your original payment method.” 18 days after I order it and at least a week after it was delivered Wares Direct decides to charge me more for shipping. What insanity is the company running on? If they’re waiting for that extra money for shipping they’ve got a long wait. Tomorrow I’ll be talking to Visa to shed light on this scam."

"This is one of the most despicable companies I have ever attempted to do business with. I order two products on May 16, 2011 and was emailed it was a special order item and it would be shipped no later than June 17, 2011. I waited until June 25 then called to see what the status was. I was again told by Leah A. Calnan, Sales Manager that she would contact the warehouse to find what the problem may be. She never called back (hard to believe), so I called her once again. She said she was not allowed to call the warehouse but must communicate by email. She told me there was no tracking number so she really could not tell me the status of my order. I got the run around several more times by her after that conversation. I reported the problem to the Better Business Bureau. There is a case ongoing at this time. I received an email on June 29, 2011 from Wares Direct and this is what it said, QUOTE:

Hello, the manufacturer has given us an eta of 07/15/11. Please advise if you would like to cancel this order or continue to wait. We do apologize about the wait. Thank you

I told them I would accept it on their given date if they promised to hold good to their word. I received another email today (July 7, 2011) stating they were refunding my money. This company has trained their employee's well on how to lie and manipulate their customers. I would highly advise no one do business with a company of this low caliber.

"06/14/2011 - "special order" item finally arrives (Bosch replacement switch for a Craftsman Rotary Tool) via UPS. Switch is packaged in a padded envelope, but not one of those bubble wrap type. I'm talking about the padded envelopes that are full of grey shredded, recycled paper material. IE, the kind that should NEVER be used for UPS ground shipping as the chances of them surviving are next to nil. Package was almost torn in half, and the switch inside was in a sealed ziplock bag around a thin(ner than cereal box) cardboard box that looks like it had been stepped on. Called WaresDirect Customer Service line about the item arriving damaged (connecting pin had been jammed so far inside the switch housing it was too short to connect to the motor) and was told by the woman who answered that she was sending an email to the person responsible for shipping the item. Like she couldn't report the item damaged and send a replacement! WTH, by "customer service," apparently they mean "answering service." She also suggested I send an email reply to the shipping notice as well....
Sent email of my own requesting replacement.
06/20/2011 - no response to original email so sent another request. Started shipping claim with UPS after reading reviews of WaresDirect lack of response from their Customer Service. Will also be submitting claim to my Credit Card. Will update review if WD ever does anything to make this right.
At this point I would NOT recommend shopping with WaresDirect.com for anything.

"These people are thieves. I ordered off the web. They came back with the "not in stock" response and promised to ship in a couple of weeks. I needed the item in a hurry so I started looking around again. Within an hour I found it somewhere else for a much cheaper price and called to cancel the order. They never refunded my credit card the $123 even after many phone calls and promises to do so. After reading some reviews I'm convinced that was intentional. Don't do business with them! Dishonest, thieves!"

"I should have known better as soon as they told me the shipping for a 3.00 dollar item not much bigger than a paper clip would be around 14.00. But I had to have the item. Well, a few weeks later, a package arrived from Wares Direct. Inside was a packing slip and an empty zip lock baggie. I've tried for 2 days to get through the customer service line. I want to believe this was simply a mistake. But after reading about these people, I can't help but feel it was an intentional scam. Time will tell. I will keep you posted."

"I have seen bad reviews from this bussiness but I can only say goods things.

I ordered some wet a mops (a couple of boxes) and they were delivered promptly and exactly as I ordered. I had no hassle, just did the check out and had my stuff at my address a couple of days later. No delays or nothing.

100% satisfied customer!

"I placed an order for an item that was listed as in stock, and I made immediate payment via Paypal.

Shortly after, I received a email indicating the item was not available, so I cancelled the order.

By the following day I had not received a response to my email, so I called to confirm the cancellation, and find out when I would receive the credit. The clerk was extremely abrupt and said it would take 5 days to get the credit.

I indicated 5 days was not acceptable, and the clerk became very arrogant and verbally abusive.

I have not yet recieved the refund.

This is a third rate organization that I will never deal with again. Think twice before you buy from them.

"Horrible Customer service, Misleading the whole way. I bought Item with a price of $85.96. When I got my credit card statement they charged me 98.96 and told me there had been a price increase. Not a good company to do business with."

"This vendor actually did deliver what I ordered in good condition within a week. I was afraid I was being ripped off because they couldn't tell me when they would ship or if they had shipped. The customer service people are really obtuse. They sent me a nasty e-mail telling me I was rude for saying I was going to have the credit card company recover payment if they couldn't tell me when the order was shipping. They said they would prefer that I not shop there anymore. I won't!! If they had any kind of customer service they might be okay."

"DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY!! Similar to two other reviews here, which makes it an ominous pattern, the item I ordered from their list was out of stock. Cathy Steinhilb emailed me saying my purchase was "on hold" until I decided if I wanted a different, substitute item. I emailed her to cancel my order. However, they had already charged my credit card account. When I emailed her asking why I was charged for merchandise I neither ordered or received, she ignored me. Apparently, they have a rip-off going in which they advertise a product that is not in stock so that they can sell a less-desirable product. Then if you do not want the replacement, they bill you anyway, as if they had shipped it. When you request a refund, it will either take a long, long time or you won't get it. This company is dishonest and unreliable. They should not be in business. DO NOT TRUST THEM."

"I placed an order for Master Appliance repair parts on 8/22/09. I received an email two days later saying the item was out of stock and on backorder and will be shipped as soon as it arrives. On September 7 I sent an email requesting an answer to when my order will be shipped, and on 9 September I receive a reply stating that the manufacturer gave them a ship date of September 21. On September 28 I sent them an email requesting that my order be cancelled and I be credited with a refund. I received two emails from customer support the next day, one a generic "sorry, thank you etc.," acknowledgement and one from a Cathy Steinhilb saying that she would let me know when the refund processing is complete. It is now over a month later and no refund. I guess the impersonal nature of internet sales lends itself very well to poor customer service and a cavalier attitude towards customer satisfaction. I will never place another order with this outfit and would warn potential customers to inquire about product availability before dealing with these people. It took them less than 5 minutes to take my money, it has now been 44,280 minutes and still no refund. BEWARE"

"I think very Highly of Wares Direct. The online ordering process was easier than most, the website is easy to navigate, and the product arrived sooner than expected. They seem to understand the priciple of under promising and over delivering. I will continue to use Wares Direct every chance I can.

Also The sales rep I spoke to on the phone about becoming a premier customer and being eligible for discounts was extremely helpful and very polite! That's hard to find!
