Webpage states $6 for shipping (http://www.voltage-converter-transformers.com/shipping-charges.html) however I end up paying $18. Maybe I chose the wrong delivery type, but honestly webpage doesn't instruct you in what will cost what and you don't see the final price till you actually receive the product. That is poor service.

"I read the previous reviews so I phoned them to get a shipping quote for a AC-DC universal power supply ($18.99). They quoted $5 for shipping/handling over the phone. When the package arrived, they charged my credit card $9. The USPS postage on the padded envelope was $2.92 (they didn't even provide a cardboard box for a heavy power supply). I called them and explained the situation. They were unprofessional, inflexible, and took an almost militant stance. When I explained that I got a quote before I placed my order and was quoted $5 for shipping, the woman said "Everyone here knows the shipping is $9", suggesting that I am a liar. I would not have placed the order if they had quoted $9 for shipping. The unit I ordered is made by Simran so maybe you can search and find these products at another vendor. Amazon has lots of these power adapters. It seems this merchant was on Amazon Marketplace in the past, but not anymore (found in some cached websearch results). Perhaps they were getting unhappy customers and Amazon banned them. Their web ordering system does not tell you what the shipping costs will be, so they are able to bait-and-switch like they did to me. I told them I would submit a negative review to this website if they don't remedy my situation. I told them some negative reviews are already here. They didn't care at all.

"All items ordered were received very quickly via FedEx Ground, and performed exactly as promised. They have a very wide selection of voltage and power converters and adapters.
The only two issues with Voltage Converter Transformers is:
a) their shipping prices are on the high side, and
b) they provide virtually zero order status updates.
When you place an order, they provide *approximate* shipping costs, but the actual cost isn't known until the package arrives on your doorstep. The only e-mail I received from them was an order confirmation. No shipping confirmation or tracking information was ever provided. I even requested an order status update via e-mail, but received no reply.
I suspect the company is used to dealing with business-to-business transactions where orders "just happen." Again, I had no problem with the ordering process, the delivery speed, or the merchandise. They just seem a bit unwilling to share interim status updates, which can be unsettling for some buyers."

" JUST lke the other 2 reviewers That posted reviews, I was NOT told how MUCH shipping charges would be. AFTER the product arrived, they told me, It is on every page. Great, I am blind, I have a program that "reads my page for me". It didn't find it. Finally, my wife came in, and looked over the page from top to bottom could not find it, and, I TOLD them so. When I first got the transformer, a 110 to 220 step up transformer, 200 watt, for a small 51 watt pump, I told them it looked good, it was quite heavy, I figured it was mostly transformer weight. OK, I was wrong. When the pump was hooked up, 1/4 of transformer rating, the unit heated up, and SMOKED. I have written them 6 emails to date, they WILL NOT answer email.
Oh, finally, my wife found the shipping charge they talked about, their was a "shipping" link on the very bottom of the page, right in the middle of about 25 links, such as "contact", about, home, what we do, return policy and things such as that. And, it was set at a # 8 font. Maximum. It was JUST barely readable to a SIGHTED person. To a blind person, with Text reading software, it was Unreadable. The software, was not even able to read the small print. When we found it, it only listed each "series" of transformers, and, BOTH times I bought a transforer, they were what they called 200 series, or 200 watt tranformers. The shipping sheet said they were 10$ dollars shipping, and, still does. But, I was charged 12$ shipping, BOTH TIMES. AGAIN, they wILL NOT anwer any emails I send. I am WORN out trying to contact them. I've tried calling, till I am NOT wasting ANY more money on them. SO, I figured, I'll hopefully, get their attention here!"
"Asides from not telling you how much they're gonna charge a ridiculous amount of shipping when you check out, well, their product is horrible. I ordered this VOD 3000 Step Down transformer which's supposed to handle up to 3000W load.
Well it was connected to 1500W AC (only half) and then it heats up, the plastic outlet plug is melt and fallen off.
On their e-mail as a customer support- I was told to put glue on it and continue to use it !... guess I've to burn my house down first. That was a purchase of a complete junk.
