"I ordered an inexpensive toy Abacus through Amazon.
Shipped 28 Nov.
Received 8 Dec.
Bubble wrapped lightly.
Tough plastic outside envelope.
I'm satisfied. I was unable to find a cheap Abacus toy anywhere locally.
I'm pleased. Certainly worth the $.

"I ordered a pair of ski goggles a short time ago and they arrived uninsured and dameged in the post.
I emailed phots and reported the damage and they stated it was not really under their control or was their fault but they were still GOOD ENOUGH TO REPLACE THE GOGGLES AT NO COST TO ME
That is the sort of customer service you like to see!!

"Avoid Uxcell!
Two items purchased, both came out scams.
Quality of the product quality doesn't stand any test, the items arrived broken, with missing parts and not as described.

Both items were purchased through eBay, and the second item was sold under a different name account, so only I've realized that I'm dealing with Uxcell only when it came to the paypal payment. This is where the scam starts: they hide the name that already has one of the worst reputations in a business. When the item arrived and I've tried to return it I've realized that I need to pay for a return shipping more than the item costs.

Two of my co-workers who purchased from Uxcell also had problems: one now has a Chess game set with missing and wrong characters, and another one received a hacked MP3 player that appears as 4Gb, but has only 1/2Gb memory indeed.

Avoid anything from Uxcell; if you see any positive reviews they are most likely fake.

"Like most HK sellers of cheap electronics and discounted knickknacks, Uxcell(.com) doesn't hawk their wares via their site alone. They have aliases on eBay--two from which I've made purchases; auction layouts are identical or variants of one another, and you often won't know which seller has established multiple accts until payment is cleared post-auction/buy.

In a quasi-free-for-all vendor marketplace, the over-saturation of aliases can be assy--and I'd wholly agree if a seller is into fraud, but discovering better pricing is a nice benefit of sales inconsistency.

By "nice", I mean "meh".

An order made through their eponymous ebay listing resulted in halfway decent comms, lethargic "free" shipping (translation: a smidgeon over two weeks), the *correct* shipment, and a surprise bonus e-discount card, i.e., $5 off any purchase on their site. A later order took place on their hard-to-navigate, official site with the assistance of said e-discount card and resulted in a surprise $5 minimum S&H fee.

Whee.

Nearly a MONTH later, it arrived... with yet another bonus card.

For real? YES.

[Insert tedious search for the cheapest possible item that's actually IN STOCK and wouldn't be a total waste of time/money... 'cause you know... $5.00 S&H. And does anyone know how good an item is? Maybe, if you've shopped elsewhere, but you're not going to know much while scouring their categories. Uxcell's customer reviews are too sparse; OH so sparse to the point where one can't help but note how they have too many feckless, variegated items ON WHICH TO COMMENT. It's almost as if nobody cares enough to write a thoughtful blurb because, hey, most "reviews"--if any--tend to look like this simplistic, spotty dross: "iths good, werx grat soenuff. :)" or "crap! ntbrokn 4me............................" Is it any surprise? No. But why the hell don't have they have uniform pictorial "OUT OF STOCK" notifications everywhere that *matters*?!]

Nevertheless... while waiting for that order, unrelated research done on their site warranted further parallel scouting on eBay. eBay yielded much cheaper, seemingly faster processing with an unexpected, photograph-based déjà vu... eh... angles are different, couldn't be the same, no. There are so many damned variations any--

Gee. Okay. Thanks for the notice Paypal! Uxcell.com.hk has many faces; yes, message received.

Their being slow about sending out items doesn't help speed up... well, *anything*, but this post will receive an update when the latter two orders are fulfilled.

Fulfilled to whatever extent.

When buying from them, make sure you're:

1) never buying anything that you'll want or need (badly) within half a month, and...

2) picking something small enough in size and price to minimize pain in the case of breakage or loss...

...and all will be sunshine and flowers. Or not; I might just wind up with two more e-discount cards that I can't successfully pass off to anyone fo' shame!

In-a-nutshell: EXTREME tedium is probably Uxcell's worst offense. That is, in my own experiences--which are already one too many--and will probably be limited to ebay purchases since feedback counts for more... until they create another account.

Speaking of extreme, it should be noted that DealExtreme is the ideal, nonpareil seller for similar stuff. Now if only they weren't so friggin' popular and had all of the best, interesting items going out-of-stock--ALL the time, in record time...

May 2011 Addendum:

Two Words: More. Cards.

Unless you don't mind the extended wait, spending more than necessary, or are just so keen on obtaining something inherently insubstantial that you'll accept any minor and major hardship(s) to get what you want... avoid using those idiotic timesink/e-discount lures.

If you can't--simply CAN'T or won't--pass up spending a dollar or three, combat time-wasting searches by planning way in advance: amass an obscenely large pile of cheap-yet-vaguely-useful crap listed on their site, prioritize and save it, and then whip it out when you're gifted with the first of many turds...

It stops only when you stop.

Oh yeah, their ebay entities seem to ship orders a tad faster than the official site.

Go figure.

"Bought an iPhone charger/adapter and was advised that item is backordered and will take approximately 3-4 weeks.
As the cost of the order is less than $25, I agreed to wait.
Weeks later however, I was told that the order was shipped but was returned due to me providing a wrong address. They wanted $5 more to ship it again.
I then inquired as to why I had to pay more for shipping when I gave them the correct address. I then advised them that after ordering for a small company like I have been doing for years, surely I WILL NOT give out a wrong address.
I was then again asked to pony up $5 more for re-shipping. I then asked for a cancellation and for them to issue a refund.
One week later and I have yet to hear a response.
As the prices they were offering were cheap, I went with then. BUYER BEWARE!!! This company has no customer service, cannot communicate clearly and have no clear return policy. This is probably due to the fact that they are based in China.
I do not recommend this company.

"Here is my history with Uxcell
Mon, Dec 7, 2009 received notification of payment
Sat, Dec 19, 2009 notification of small delays
Tue, Dec 29, 2009 email saying item bounced back because wrong address...need to reconfirm address and send more money for extra postage.
I dunno what to do...maybe I will write it off. Eventually worked out they had made a entry mistake off ebay. After much email toing and froing they corrected their error and I received my item...whew

"The negative reviews for this company gave me pause, but they had a cable I couldn't find elsewhere, so for under $10 including shipping, I took a chance. Communication was a bit spotty, due at least partly to language differences (I think they are in Hong Kong). The product arrived in about three weeks, packaging was adequate for a USB cable, and so far it seems to work. So, for small, low-tech items like cables, they may be OK. From the experience others have had, I don't think I'd order a media player from them."

"After reading so many negatives about this company, I placed a small order as a test. While I paid for insurance, this seems to be just a method of getting more money out of the customer. The package shows no sign of any insurance indicated, was sent as cell phone accessories, categorized as a gift and came in one small sheet of bubble wrap in a torn plain paper bag type of envelope.

For small items, they may be okay, but for the more expensive units, such shipping would damage the units. Even for items like these, this packaging was insufficient.

"Ok let me get into my long woeful story with this company ... I ordered 2 MP4 players from them in hopes of a good experience. Boy was I incorrect. The MP4 players when they came were gorgeous looking and when they functioned they worked fantastic (except for having to wiggle the headphone jack to get full sound). But then they both mysteriously just died and now of course there is no response from customer service. Here is my day to day thus far:

04/05/2007 - Ordered and paid
04/10/2007 - Shipment notification
04/12/2007 - Shipment denial notification (said problems in shipping center)
04/17/2007 - They tell me they have 'sold out' of the item I ordered waiting on another shipment
04/20/2007 - Received shipping confirmation from their site (Hong Kong Parcel Post)
04/27/2007 - Received my products in a brown paper bag (no lie) shipped from HK
04/27/2007 - E-mailed support because both sets of headphones were defective
04/30/2007 - Received shipping confirmation they sent me replacement headphones
05/05/2007 - Received 1 pair of replacement headphones
05/25/2007 - Both MP4 players have completely ceased functioning, dead as doornails after only being used sparingly. E-mailed support
05/31/2007 - STILL WAITING FOR A RESPONSE REGARDING THIS

"Simply not worth it. The prices seem very good and the products look slick, but beware. While my payment was processed the same day that I ordered, the item did not ship for over a week. When it finally arrived, I quickly discovered it was defective. I followed the instructions on the uxcell website to flash the firmware, which effectively killed the player. Communicating with customer service was pointless - nothing but automated replies. I eventually managed to secure an RMA and sent it back. It has been nearly a month and the company denies receiving the item and will not return my money despite the money-back guarantee advertised on their website. Stay away from this unprofessional company with its shoddy products and useless customer service.

Update: I did finally receive a refund. While I would not purchase from the company again, I am glad that they resolved this matter.
