"I traded in my iPhone 4S to Tradeinspot.com. After doing some research, I found that Tradeinspot.com was offering the most for my phone and had the best reviews from other customers. The process was seamless. I requested a mailer from them to send them my phone. That came pretty quickly, within a week. Once I shipped my phone, it took about a week for them to receive it. Then it took an additional 2-3 days for them to inspect the phone and give me my trade-in amount. I received what was quoted to me at the very beginning for my phone being in good condition. I am very pleased with how the transaction went and would recommend it to others."

"I was rather disappointed with my trade-in. My initial offer depreciated to less than half of what I was quoted. Issues that were found were not asked for in the initial review of my product. Small things such as a worn out key but still worked reduced the value. Every little detail was noted and was taken off from my quoted value. I will not use trade in spot again. My computer was in good condition for its age. I wished I never sold it back. I would have rather donated it then get $26 bucks for it."

I'm not sure what got Tradeinspot's attention (the email/message/or the original review below) but it worked. I was contacted by an employee later the same day via phone. During our conversation the employee told me that my package, although marked as received by the USPS, had never been delivered. He assured me that my experience was not the usual experience they strive to provide and he apologized profusely, while offering to send a payment ASAP.

I completely understand that my experience is not 'the norm' for Tradeinspot. They cannot control if/when packages are misplaced/labeled by the USPS and I do not hold that against Tradeinspot. However, I would hope that they put controls in place to track and handle issues like this so that in the future another customer is not left wondering what's going on with their order.

Given my experience I would try there services again in the future if I am looking to trade in another device. Kudos to their employee for taking the time to reach out to me and for providing a prompt resolution to my issue. You have definitely restored my view of the company.

Original review -9/11/2013:
I submitting an offer for my used Acer A500 (in excellent condition with all the original packaging, manuals, etc.) to trade it in for a check. Amazon offered the same amount with the exception of an Amazon credit to my account. After submitting a trade in order for the tablet on 8/21/13 I packaged it and sent it using the supplied USPS label. No problems were encountered and the item was received on 8/26/13. Great! The website claims that an offer would be made and a check sent within 3 to 6 days of receiving the trade-in item. Now, 9/11/13, I have not received any follow up contact regarding the status. I have made many attempts over the last two weeks at their online chat with no luck (does anyone actually staff it?). After finding their phone number on Google I called several times over the last few days without actually talking with anyone. Each time my call went to voice mail. To be fair I have not left a voice mail and I finally sent an e-mail request to them for a status update today. To recap my experience: They have my tablet and I cannot make contact with anyone. I've still got hope that an employee cares enough about their image to monitor this site and take the time to respond."

I upgraded my phone through best buy mobile to a Samgsung Galaxy S4, I wanted to trade in my phone for value toward that upgrade but unfortunately it didn't have value in their trade in system. My old phone was a Droid 2 Global. My Fiancee was able to get $5 from Best Buy for her Droid X. My phone was valued at $5 with Tradeinspot.com, however when they inspected it they claimed it was water damaged, which is funny because it was my 3rd replacement of that model. So I received a refurbed damaged phone from Verizon, which apparently was water damaged, and again Ironic, that's exactly how my 2nd phone was destroyed, rain water damage from working. So they said because of the damage it is now valued at a whole $1.... Lol so whatever i'll take the buck and see what my Itouch 1st gen is worth to them, I don't need all this older tech now anyways..."

"Update.....finally received payment check yesterday, 7/16. As compensation for the delay, they sent a note stating they will send a bonus to me also. Constructive criticism...this transaction began at the end of June.....find a faster way to send out shipping cartons, a faster way to inspect electronics to determine condition, a saster way if issuing and sending checks.

Sent them 3 digital cameras that they inspected and gave me a price. The prices were real low ball prices given the cameras I sent were the next models up from what they listed them as. But, I agreed to the price. They said they'd send me a check. Haven't heard diddly from them since. No check and they have my cameras. Ripoff!"
