Negative experience all around

"First, I ordered my product (Canon 210XL and 211XL) on June 20th. I accidentally deleted my order confirmation email, but expected that my order would be fulfilled. 10 days later, I have not received my order, so I engaged in a chat with their customer service representative. I explained my situation, provided exact dates, costs charged to my card, and all personal information to validate my order. I was told that they recently updated their system and was unable to look up my order. They copied my information and told me they would get back to me. Understandably, I decided to be more patient, but after another 7 days without hearing anything or receiving my order, I re-engaged in another chat session and updated the customer service rep. Once again, I was told that they were unable to retrieve or research my order, and was asked again to provide my personal information so they could get back to me. After about 5 days, I wrote the company an email, stating that if I did not receive an update to my order, or if my products did not arrive, that I expect a full refund. If a refund to the items I was charged that never arrived was not given, I would report this expense as a fraudulent charge, which would open up a financial investigation. At this point, what else can I do? It had been nearly a month without any shipment or follow-up to my inquires. Magically, although I never received an email response, three days after my email complaint, both ink cartridges arrived to my home. Unfortunately, NEITHER INK CARTRIDGES WORKED! I have used remanufactured ink cartridges in the past with success, but no matter what settings I tried, the ink cartridges were not compatible. Not only did I waste about a month of my time waiting for the products to arrive, but neither are useful in any capacity. Based on the terrible customer service experience, I won't even attempt to get a refund for these items. "

Horrible Customer Service

"I placed an order on 12/27/16 and come 1/18/17 I still don't have any answers. I have reached out through their support requests, emailed the sales team, used the online chat function and called the company. I finally spoke to someone and he was extremely rude , did not want to listen to my concerns and said he was going to cancel my order. I hope he follows through and cancels my order. This is BS"

NOT A GOOD COMPANY!

"I've placed two orders with this company. The first order came without a hitch and the product seems fine. I placed the second order and after a week I tried to call to find out the status because I hadn't heard anything. Their phone system kept hanging up on me so I used their online chat. I got nowhere in two days of trying. Finally, I called and got hold of someone who told me they had credited my credit card for the amount of the sale. They never told me they were out of the product or that they were going to credit me. Their customer service is horrible!"

Took over a month!

"I placed my order for three toners and I never got a confirmation that my order had been placed. I emailed them and they assured me that it was placed and the total they gave me for my purchase was correct. A couple weeks go by and I still haven't heard or seen anything. I emailed them again about my order, they confirmed my shipping address and I waited. About a week or two later I tried emailing them twice, no response. So a couple days later I waited and it still wasn't here so I gave their phone number a try, a few times, no one ever answers then finally someone picked up. He assured me I would have it by Friday and it came on Tuesday. The reason it took so long was because he informed me that the order was never shipped! Once I got it, they gave me the wrong amount of toner but I am done messing with them, it was a complete nightmare!!"

Unreliable, unresponsive service; dubious business integrity

"Immediately after I had placed and paid for an order for a Brother printer toner cartridge, I received acknowledgement of payment from PayPal. After over three weeks from my having placed the order, I had received nothing from the seller -- neither acknowledgement of the order nor the cartridge. (I had gone on vacation expecting to find the cartridge already delivered and waiting.)

After several calls to the store's toll free number 1-***-***-****, I could not reach a person, only a recording saying to leave a message. Consequently, I opened a case in the PayPal Transaction Resolution Center; shortly after that my payment was promptly refunded -- without explanation.

The one lukewarm testimonial on the Store's home page is dated Aug 02, 2013 (three years old at this point). Clicking on "View More" merely takes you to the website for bizrate.com. Associated with specific cartridges, you can find other reviews, but many seem planted rather than from genuine customers. Toner and Inkjet Store's website design gives the impression of a reputable enterprise; however, do look at the extensive "Terms and Conditions".

Given my experience with unresponsive service, I researched publicly available information about the company, listed also as TAIS INC. (tonerandinkjetstore.com). Its address, "10 N Martingale Road Suite 400 # [PMB 280 # Schaumburg, IL 60173" (sic) appears on Google Street View as an office building; however, PMB indicates that the address involves a Private Mail Box, such as those provided by UPS shops and agencies. Furthermore, there are no addresses given for "offices" in Atlanta, Boston, Houston, Los Angeles and Louisville marked on the home page map of the U.S.

The Better Business Bureau gives "Toner & Inkjet Store" an F, rates it one star out of five, and has recorded 13 complaints over three years, 12 of them regarding "Problems with Product/Service".

Reports on the domain show that the site owner is ilhami Goral at 3245 Cannongate Rd., Fairfax, VA 22031-4828 (1-***-***-****, ****@****.), which appears as a typical house in a suburban subdivision.

The website is listed with a value of $500-700, 300-400 visitors per day, 700-800 daily page views, and a daily income of $1-2 -- statistics which hardly inspire confidence, or indicate a substantial company. The Web of Trust (WOT) Trustworthiness rated the business as Very Poor.

To avoid this type of experience and before placing an order with a cartridge seller, you might want check the ratings in "Discount Ink Cartridges Stores Reviews" for suppliers who offer reliability and after sales support. Though products might cost a little more, they can result in greater satisfaction, and the avoidance of having to launch a dispute with its attendant inconvenient waste of time and energy.
