"I placed an order for a GPS unit from Tomtom.com on 2/2/2012. On 2/7/2012, Tomtom sent me an e-mail that said they made a mistake on pricing and my order would be canceled. I will not buy any Tomtom product again!"

"Worst customer service ever, takes forever to get on hold of them, and after hours of waiting they can not help you with most of issues that you have with their products and you need to pay for another half even if you were assured you will not have to. Had multiple encounters with them, giving up, switching to Garmin."

"I will not order from this company anymore. They sell you a product for one price then cancel your order and want to sell it for 3X the amount and give you only $20.00 off and say sorry,from now on I will stick with Garmin."

"Have tried for a week to RMA a defective XL340-S. Absolutely the most obstructive least cooperative company I have ever done business with. They refuse to stand by warranties. They delay delay delay, ask for more and more documentation, refuse to acknowledge any defects or problems and just say reset this or charge that. Stay away from TomTom Products. "

"The single worst shopping cart/e-commerce store I've ever used. Checkout options don't match the forms for ordering, the final invoice is missing tons of data, complete confusion on shipping versus billing info. Customer service representatives (while very polite) have no clue what the online store does and cannot look up any information on the orders. Their online store essentially resembles something that your uncle has setup over the weekend. "

"I purchased a TomTom GO730 and am happy overall with the device, it is the company I am not happy with. They refuse to update my maps even though I was told that they would for free since I was having problems getting customer service to help. Now they say I need to pay some $60 to update my device. POOR customer relations, they have lost me as a future customer"

"I purchased a TomTom Go 730 GPS and without exageration this has been the worst product I have ever purchased.

1. TomTom support is horrible - try calling it before you buy one to see for yourself.

2. TomTom removes vital functions such as FM transmitting even though they continue to advertise that it comes with it. Due to broadcast laws in Europe they have killed the FM transmitting function for the entire world. Garmin hasn't done this. TomTom was also very sneaky about this and never disclaimed it. When you updates in TomTom Home TomTom REMOVES the feature from your device and there is nothing you can do about. They never warn you that you will lose the feature!!!!!!!! Excuse me I PAID for that feature.

3. The maps are old and outdated, and again, even if you're willing to pay $100+ for new maps, you are forced to update firmware and lose features such as FM Transmitting ... also Susan will begin to stutter. Google TomTom stuttering issues when using text-to-speech spoken street names.

4. TomTom could not find my street or a favorite restaurant - both have been in existence for 20+ years. The Garmin that I purchased works 1000x better and does not have the stuttering issues or the loss of FM transmission or next turn information.

5. I went through two TomTom's before I finally gave up. The first one worked for just a few minutes before catastrophic failure. And yes I did the soft and hard pin reset - no dice. You will also learn all about "Pin resets", "soft and hard resets", "freezing" and "looping" - sounds like fun doesn't it? I wish I was joking, but I'm not.

You've been warned!

I would not recommend a TomTom product to anyone. The price is tempting but you might as well buy an el cheapo because that is what you will get. If you want a real GPS without hasseles, don't make my mistake twice - buy the Garmin the FIRST TIME.
