"As a licensed health provider I am dedicated to not only quality products and food but ethical means for shipping and staffing. I do not have time to assure all products do not contain sneaky chemicals, GMO, inorganic ingredients, hormones, RNA & chemical pesticides! We live in a time where diseases are at a peak in US and our FDA does nothing including even informing us of inflammation & anti immunity links to our food & products! "Wasted $ on membership and cannot get a refund. Awful service. Almost ALL items are cheaper on Whole Foods and other stores. They also don't carry half the things I am looking for.

Absolute thievery

"You’re trapped into getting billed to just look at the site. No refund whether or not you even use the service. You can’t continue if you don’t pick a plan. Then they tell you if you chose a plan from the pop up menu, there are no refunds. They should be investigated."

Beware of undisclosed membership

"I tried to purchase a few items that are difficult to get where I live. Upon checkout, there was a small line that mentions a yearly membership. There was no opt-in or opt-out option, just a line that mentions something about the membership. When I engaged the chat and asked if the membership would automatically be added when I checked out, the answer given was a roundabout one. My yes/no question was answered by a bot with the response something along the lines of “at thrive we keep our low prices a secret until your a member. Members get benefits, blah blah blah.” That did not answer the question so I sent another message asking again if I was going to be automatically enrolled in the membership if I bought the items in my basket. I got the same exact response, word for word. No straightforward information. Thrive has this great story about making health foods accessible to all. The caveat is that you have to have extra spending money to purchase a membership, which is honestly more exclusionary and does not fit with Thrive’s “healthy groceries shouldn’t break the bank” mentality. If they wanted these foods to be accessible, they wouldn’t make them accessible from ONLY behind a pay wall. The whole company is contradictory and trying to paint a beautiful, healthy picture while knowingly restricting lower income people from accessing their site. I’m glad I caught the con before ordering anything and giving them any bank information. If you have the extra income, it might be great for you. But they tout a reality that they don’t live by and deceive customers by not including the details and restrictions of membership upfront. Honesty and transparency shouldn’t be that hard…"

"As others noted, they don’t warn you that trial is up so yOu can make informed decision, and then refuse to cancel overpriced “membership”. They exist to rip you off and the should not be supported with any business!!"

Look at simple items like cup of noodles/ Ramen usually 3 for a dollar or so, frozen Pacific Cod, monk fruit, can soup
Then look at thrive
And that's just a few things

horrible!! wont let you deactivate

"I have been trying to deactivate my account, there is no where on the website to do it by yourself. When I used their online 24/7 chat, a person told me only they can cancel membership on their end. When I asked about deactivating my account, They totally ignored it. I asked again and said will look into it. When I called they said they can not deactivate it I have to send an email to certain department about my rights to deactivate MY ACCOUNT! when I sent an email, it was the incorrect email. When I used their chat online they gave me a totally different email to use. When I asked why the person (Irish) left the chat...... Im still currently trying to deactivate... ridiculous and horrible customer service!!!

Service is good when you actually receive an ontime, not unbroken delivery, not lost, delivery.

"I've been using Thrive for a couple of years and it has seriously declined. The deals are great but only when I actually get what I ordered. Sometimes thrive will have a generous discount on a large selection of items as they did a month ago. I took quite a bit of time pouring through the sale items to decide what to stock up on, I probably spent an hour doing this through a somewhat cumbersome process.

The order was delayed. Delayed again. A week later I called them and had them cancel the order. I managed to also find out that the delivery service they use had lost the item, something thrive didn't seem to know. Now, it's a week later and I don't have any of the items. I can order them again but without the 30% sale discount.

A few weeks later there was another, albeit more limited sale. I placed another order on Monday, expecting it would be shipped by Tuesday. On Friday it still has not shipped but they tell me it should ship tomorrow -- of course with tomorrow being a Saturday that likely means Monday. As they use a bottom of the barrel shipper -- ontrack, that order, whenever it finally ships, may get delayed or lost again.

At this point an entire month has gone by and I have not been able to receive anything I ordered. This is not the first time this has happened. I estimate that roughly half of my orders over the past year have been lost or delayed.

If you have lots of patience and only want to order things you don't need anytime soon, this could be a good option for you -- and let's not forget that you get to pay an annual fee to have the privilege of this horrific service.

To be fair, when items are damaged they are good about crediting for them, but shipping/packing is random and chaotic so things are often over packed or liquid items are put in bags which then aren't sealed properly so what's the point?

I wish I could have some of my wasted time and aggravation refunded to me -- I hope you are more fortunate than I am!

Impressive

"I am 21 days into my trial membership I have placed 2 orders my first order I received a 20% discount upon signing up on three orders earned $15 in Thrive cash toward my second order chose to free gifts valued at over $17 is shipping was quick I was very placed my second order shipping was again quick was able to apply that $15 is earned another 750 in Thrive cash toward my next order received a 20% discount and I had made an error seems that I ordered the wrong size bottle of oil I used the chat service and the customer service agent John was so accommodating he took it upon himself to speak to his supervisor they do not accept returns for these items however they issued me a full credit gift card to my email immediately I didn't even have to stress my disappointment and it was my error I have already used the full refund e-gift card he said pehaps I choose to pass the smaller bottle of oil on to someone else if I choose and to have myself a thriving day! Thank you to John his supervisor and all at Thrive Market "Thrive On"
The only reason for four stars rather than five is I'm not sure if I like the fact there's not a return policy but I feel strongly that if this had been resulting in an error or dissatisfaction on a Thrive product or service that I would still have been accommodated at a minimum equally as well am speechless. RB
btw Charlottes Web Hemp extract w/olive oil is amazing for my pain 100ml size is value added +++ next am trying the chocolate mint extract w olive oil

Expired

"I received expired products more than once. When i reached out to them they had me send a photo of the expiration date. All of that i get what I don't get is when I proved all of this to them they did not try to fix it. I was charged a membership fee to receive items that they were trying to get rid of because they were expired. I will be cancelling once my yearly fee has past but refuse to do so before then because its not like i can get my money back. I just would think that they would have at least offered to send me a new product. This is very sad to me because there were a lot of things that i wanted to still try but i will just go to the manufacturer to find a place that sells them and will let them know how this "service" is making them look. "

Underhanded and sneaky, bait and switch...avoid at all costs

"When you place an order they sign you up for their $60 subscription without your permission. There is no link to unsubscribe from the website. But what's even worse is they HIDE the method of cancelling the subscription. You actually have to call or email to cancel but that isn't listed on the website. But you won't find this out unless you call, email or chat.

They pretend to give you a 20% "discount" but when you examine carefully, you see that this "discount" just reduces the exorbitant shipping cost.

They also advertise on their website that you get $25 for sharing/liking them via social media platform. Once you do it they tell you that you only get the $25 once you sign up a customer who pays for a yearly membership.

Finally, when you get tired go their antics and decide to cancel an order before it ships they won't do it without "escalating it to a supervisor" who supposedly will be in touch to let you know when your order has been cancelled. Guess what happens then...yeah...Avoid at all costs.

Prepare to be Tortured

"I placed one order from Thrive and then after looking at the other products they carried decided not to join. I soon realized that I would have been better off paying a higher price elsewhere so I could have foregone the resulting torture they subjected me to attempting to end the "free" 30 day trial. After numerous attempts on their site to "request" in their words to end the trial without a response, I emailed customer service numerous times because I realized I needed a paper trail if they charged my credit card for a year membership against my wishes. They finally "allowed" me to end the trial after one week of constant emails, site requests, that is, according to their last email. I have to wait until the end of the month to believe I've been released. This is not a membership like normal ones. You CANNOT just end it like so many other club or membership sites with one simple action. So, be prepared to be tortured if you sign up for a trial membership. The monster doesn't give up the grip on it's prey easily."

Super Shady Dive. Had to resort to a credit card "chargeback". 0 stars?

"Their customer service is criminally bad. I got a trial membership and called 3 times to cancel it and their phone system hung up on me after I pressed 1 to indicate I was calling about my Trial Membership. Not cool. I sent messages canceling twice via their website and STILL they failed to

cancel it. I then sent a message on facebook explaining the above and saying I was angry that my membership was STILL active. They replied, confirming receipt of my requests and then 4 days later, charged my card a membership fee. They have serious problems with customer service. Nay. They have serious ethical problems.

unscrupulous Thief Market refuses to relinquish customer's money

"My order arrived damaged. Three days after I contacted Thrive regarding the delivery, they told me they would issue me a store credit (as opposed to a refund) for the items that arrived damaged due to their failure to packaged the items properly.

I responded: "I paid for goods that Thrive/UPS failed to deliver in acceptable condition, and, rather than refunding me for the goods it failed to deliver, Thrive is trying to stick me with a merchandise credit? I'd be laughing in disbelief if I weren't outraged over dealing with scammy business practices from a merchant apparently refusing to relinquish my money after it fails to deliver my order successfully.

I may have considered accepting a reshipment, but your attempt to stick me with a merchandise credit after failing to successfully deliver my order tells me that Thrive is shady. Please email me a prepaid return shipping label and cancel my trial membership."

Thrive responded that they don't provide return shipping and instructed me to pay to return items to them for refund.

SERIOUSLY?! When I first contact Thief Market about a delivery that arrived damaged, they try their darnedest to maintain their grip on my money by telling me they can offer me a merchandise credit instead of providing a refund for their error. When I point out the shadiness of their behavior and insist on a return for refund, they respond even more egregiously by telling me to pay for return shipping in order to obtain a refund for the items I received damaged!

Continuing that theme of refusing to relinquish customer's money, I had twice in the process of communicating with them requested that they cancel my trial membership (having decided I would not want to do business with a merchant that behaves like this), and customer service completely failed to address either request.

At this time, I've pointed out that they've ignored both requests to cancel my trial membership when responding to me, and I've also made a third request for them to cancel my trial membership since their behavior is obviously something I don't want to deal with. I'm waiting to see if they acknowledge my third request, but, given what I've observed of their behavior so far, I will be watching my credit card statement like a hawk and ready with email transcripts to file a dispute if Thief Market charges me $60 for their membership scam ring.
