"THISISANIME.COM ORDER ISSUES 75% OF THE TIME!

I have been a customer of thisisanime.com since 3/30/2007. I have placed a total of 4 orders with them, and had problems with 3 out of 4 orders placed with them. The second order was the only one where I received all of my items, and every other order was missing items. My complaints are as follows:

1. Typical time to receive an order after placement is 14-21 days, even though their website clearly states shipment within 3-4 days.

2. 75% of orders placed are missing items, which on receipt indicate "We're sorry. This items is backordered." even though their website CLEARLY does not indicate any items are out of stock at time of placing an order. Worse yet, after receiving your late order and seeing this dreaded "backordered" message, if you look at their site they are STILL showing the item is available for purchase "in stock", even though they claim it is on backorder. Talk about intentionally misleading!

Their terms of service state:

"What our availability indicators mean : 99% of the items listed for sale at the ThisIsAnime are kept in stock and ready to ship right here at our fulfillment center in Ranson, WV. This is different from many other companies who use fulfillment or 3rd party vendors to ship your items, or don't order items until customer actually place orders. We ship directly to you!"

More misinformation! If it was truly 99% of the items listed for sale are "kept in stock" then why is it 3 out of 4 orders, 75% of the orders I placed...came to me with items missing / back ordered?

3. If you are lucky and the items come back into stock, you will receive them in 3-4 weeks and in the meantime have your emails to them IGNORED!

For 2 of the 3 orders with missing items, I immediately requested refund for missing items and was ignored until they got the items and shipped them out 3-4 weeks later. I could have gotten the items within a week from someone on ebay. Yet their website clearly states:

"All backorders will be carried for a minimum period of 15 days from the time of your order, and may automatically be canceled (and a refund made if applicable) after that time unless you request we hold your order open for a longer period of time."

Yet I have personally seen this to be untrue, as average wait time to receive back ordered items is 3-4 weeks!

4. Charges for items not received: In all cases where I got only some of the items in my orders, I was STILL charged in full for the entire order even though I did not have all products. Their terms of service clearly state:

"Credit Cards - If you select to pay with your credit card, our website will authorize your card for the purchase price at the time you place your order, but you will not be charged for an item until that item is actually shipped to you."

Yet I have a credit card bill right in front of me for my current order CLEARLY showing they charged me in full. It is now 1 days later and I still have no refund for missing items or the missing items themselves.

Considering the fact that the last few orders I intentionally placed comments during my order indicating if ANY items were out of stock either give me partial refund ASAP, or cancel my entire order....and they still IGNORED that request....I can honestly say that they have lost a customer who spends about $100 per month for anime.

I had a problem with another website with same identical issues not long ago called animearigato.com. Little did I realize until just recently that website and thisisanime.com are BOTH owned by the same identical company called "BestBuy Anime" at same address in LA, Cali. Incredible! I would suggest avoiding them until they get their act straightened out, and they STOP selling items they do not have in stock AND start shipping orders out in a timely fashion.

"thisisanime.com is just a nightmare! I bought some anime dvds and a few manga books there, and I NEVER get my order in more than 2 months! I emailed them and getting no responds. They are totally fraudulent, and I heard my friend's cousin had been cheated by them as well! beware and stay away from them!"

"This store is the same place as discountanimedvd.com and my review matches those so look at that stores reviews, they are bad. They charged me immediately. They never communuicated back to any of my emails, took a month to ship my order, without some of the books that I ordered. Took another month to refund me the difference for the 3 missing books (i ordered 11). Also do not have all books in stock that ar indicated on their site, which wa smy problem. "

"The DVDs I purchased arrived in poor condition -- more than half of the 9 sets were visibly scratched, but due to their policies, I am not able to have the whole lot replaced unless the discs weren't playable. Three of the discs had issues playing, so I emailed them on the day of receipt requesting for RMA authorization.

Two weeks later, they replied, stating to package the defective DVD discs and a printout of the email -- when their site Help center states, and I quote, "You MUST notify us within 10 days after the receipt of a defective item in order to qualify for a return for replacement or credit."

I sent back the defective discs via registered airmail at the end of September. More than two months later, I have yet to see the replacements (after they stated in the email that replacements will be dispatched as soon as they receive the RMA).

I emailed again them on 11 October requesting a status update of the RMA; they were not able to provide a estimated shipping date, claiming that the items are on backorder and they are awaiting for the manufacturers to get back to them.

Why, when the items are listed as 'in-stock' on their website?

It's December 2007 now. I don't see the replacement discs. They aren't replying to my emails either.
