"As a web developer, I already have the skills to implement and manage one of the many stand-alone learning management platforms available. However, this same background also means I know how much of a hassle it can be to maintain your own website. This time is better spent producing courses and engaging with students.
As someone who has been training online since 2008, I spent a lot of time researching various learning management platforms to find the best solution, which is undoubtedly Thinkific. The drawback of a managed solution is you don't necessarily get all the features you would like and, at time of writing, I can't give the platform 5 stars as there are some things lacking. This will not affect most instructors, however, as with any software, do your homework before committing."

We reviewed almost every single program out there in our attempt to find the program that best met our needs. Every program that we test drove disappointed. - Best of all, Thinkific offers very affordable payment plans. We we first signed up for Thinkific, we started with the FREE plan. This allowed us to "test drive" the program, upload all the materials for our first course, and integrate the built-in e-commerce (STRIPE). When we were ready to launch our first course, we moved up to the Essentials Plan. As soon as we begin selling more course enrollments, we will upgrade to the Business Plan.
In summary, from excellent training, to customer support, and the ability to access to an entire community of online course developers (Facebook Community Page) I cannot think of anything else the Thinkific Team could do to improve. Which is why I say THEY LEAD THE WAY.

You can really customize the platform to your taste and it's pretty easy. It's missing a way to handle taxes, so you need to have a fee that includes taxes, which is a little more annoying to handle. Thought it is a really great and useful platform for people who plan to do online workshop."
"I was attracted at first by the 'FREE' tarrif and presumed it was going to be a bit limiting and probably difficult to set up. NOT the case! I love the software. Technically, the curriculum upload process is simply, thinkific accomodates a variety of file types, and gives you the opportunity to view your course from the student's perspective. In addition, in the six months my first course has been up and available, the total downtime for the website has been under two hours - and that was a scheduled middle-of-the-night upgrade for which I was given two weeks' notice! That is unriveled in the industry.
The price for the platform, the choices of services, and the variety of ways you can take payment from your students are all great. I had looked into all the most popular learning platforms, compared them all, and Thinkific comes out ahead in virtually every category. Give it a try - you won't be disappointed!"
