"BUYER BEWARE
One month ago my husband ordered a pair of shoes. It took them 16 days to arrive. He liked the shoes, but they were soiled. Something had been dropped on them, and someone had made a poor attempt to clean them. No one wants to pay $130 for shoes with a stain, so we asked if we could exchange them. They said we had to purchase another pair of shoes, and when they received the dirty ones, they would issue a refund. We purchased a new pair and sent the other ones back the next day. We were charged another $130 immediately. It has now been another 16 days and we still do not have the shoes, nor do we have the refund. A few days ago I was worried they never got the returned shoes so I called to inquire. It took me 3 days to get a live person on the phone. She confirmed that they had indeed received the shoes but that it could take up to 3 weeks to issue a refund!! Why should that take so long? They told me at the time I bought the second pair of shoes to put in a note saying it was an exchange and they would not charge return shipping. After reading these other scary reviews, I wonder. So, after 30 days, no shoes, no refund. How can these people stay in business?

These horrible reviews are TRUE. Yesterday the replacement shoes finally came. These, too, were marred. But the spots are not as bad as the first pair, and we are so afraid to do any more business with this store, that we decided to keep the shoes. I called again today to see how the refund was coming along. This woman who answers the phone (the manager, she told me) said I would have to wait 14 days for a refund. I asked if they were going to deduct the $7.99 for the return shipping and she said "of course". I said "but is was an exchange for the exact same shoes". She said "So? All internet companies charge for return shipping" I said, "no they don't" and she started to argue with me, in a snarky tone, saying that she shops on line all the time and they all do it. Then she started to challenge me and get aggressive. She got so fired up that I had to just hang up on her. I will NOT argue with customer service people! Well, this is the first time I've ever had to. (They are usually quite wonderful, like the amazing people at Zappos.) I just hope I get the refund now, and if they deduct for shipping, I won't challenge it. They can continue to bully customers over $8 if they want. I'm not up for the fight. In business since 1956? Yeah, right.

"DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS DISHONEST COMPANY!!!!

Its been 3 weeks, I still do not have my order. HORRIBLE customer service, no communication, overcharged. They truly do not care whether your order is correct or whether it ever arrives. Took too many hours of my time to try and resolve. Vicki Zapatka, the supposed only manager, is extremely rude, dishonest, and unhelpful. BUYER BEWARE!!!!!!

"Horrible, horrible, horrible. This site outsources their orders to vendors, who then ship to you therefor if you pay fro expedited 2 day shipping you should expect to get your package in 5 days. Furthermore the vendor can screw up the size, which is what happened for me, then when I called the shoemart explained that it's uk sizing and I would have to order 2 sizes below and that there is a tini tiny little disclaimer positioned in a place no one will really notice. So the shoes came after my girlfriends birthday and then they were the wrong size. BUT WAIT THERE IS MORE! So then after they refuse to offer any incentive to return to them for future business they are rude (but in that really polite way ;) and they charge you return shipping! let me repeat this, THEY CHARGE YOU RETURN SHIPPING. So in shipping alone I am out over 20 dollars now, for a product that didn't get here on time and is not the right size, and showmart thinks that's ok even though they do not have an appropriate enough disclaimer. For instance look at these ads to your right, you probably didn't even pay them much attention before; that is how there disclaimer is except much much smaller. F**k shoemart. They will never get my business or make money off of my shipping ever again."

"Do not order from these thieves!!!

I ordered some shoes but was sent an extra identical pair by mistake. I was charged for these. My emails were ignored so I had to phone them from the UK. They said to return the shoes - but they claim they never received them I have proof of posting and have never had this problem before. They will not refund even though it was all their mistake which has caused me a huge amount of bother.

"Awful customer service. I AM STUCK WITH TWO PAIRS OF SHOES I DID NOT WANT, AND I PAID FOR THEM!
I followed the instructions of the exchange police as written on the website: "Exchanges With TheShoeMart.com
-Please send your item back for a refund using our Easy Returns RMA system.
-Place a new order on our website."

I never got my refund. I ended up PAYING FOR 2 pairs of shoes. The lady at the customer service simply apologized for their error. Great.

"I received my shoes in 9 days - exactly what I ordered. I was happy. Then 10 days later I was informed by my credit card bank of attempted fraud, which we traced back to the card used at The Shoe Mart! Not sure what's going on there, but be careful!"

"i ordered a pair of moccasins. the order page said "usually ships in 4-6 days; fine.
the next day, i received an e-mail stating that the shoes were on back-order for a month !?!?
i called The Shoe Mart and made a suggestion that they update their order page to indicate 'out of stock' when the item is not available; the lady on the phone couldn't wait to hang up.
the next day, that shoes were still listed as in stock.... and the following day, as well.
they charged my paypal in a SECOND, but two days later, still hadn't credited my account. i called back, got the same lady, and she said "gee, they didn't refund; i'll see it done today."
i'm betting NOT, and will have to dispute the charge, tomorrow.
all in all, a very bad experience; i'll not be going back; YOU use your best judgment.
in all fairness, the shoe mart DID refund my purchase price after i called them a third time.

"They are the worse when it comes to customer service. Once you place your order that is it doesn't seem to go any further it stops at "Processing" status. When I called the young lady was very indifferent and basically stated "well you can cancel your order if you like". I also emailed and got a very generic response from a different person but again no real help or anything concrete i.e., we looking into the matter or we're having problems with the manufacturer etc. I usually deal with Endless.com, Shoes.com and DSW.com and never have a problem my items are shipped within the same week. If you don't have them on site then say that in BOLD PRINT up front giving the consumer the option of trying another product or another site. "

"A really bad experience. Ordered some boots on the 18th (needed them on the 26th, figured it was plenty of time for ground). On the 19th I got an email that the order was in the 'processing' stage. On the 24th I hadn't heard anything from them, so I beg an sending e-mail requests to cancel the order - since there was no way the order would arrive on time. Never got one reply from them, not even an automated reply - despite the fact that they advertise the email address as a point of contact. Sent 5 emails requesting cancellation and never heard back. Finally checked today and the item had shipped on the 27th (never got an email saying the order had shipped). In that span of time, I was able to order the same boots on Zippo on the 24th and got next day delivery FREE and had them for the day I needed them. Now I will have to send the boots right back at my expense and hope that they actually process my refund. Probably the worst online purchase/experience I've had. "

"I ordered a pair of shoes UPS 2nd day air and got them 11 days later! It was for a gift and since it was taking too long had to buy them locally. I sent several emails and got no answer,it is like "pulling teeth" to get a reply from this people. Finally,returned the shoes but they did not refund the total amount:they discounted the 2nd day air! which was like 40% of the total charge. I'll never buy from them again it's much better to order from "online shoes",it's faster,more reliable and much nicer to deal with: if you need to return something they refund the whole amount,no questions asked."
