No problems with order; professionally handled all the way

"I bought a Smith MIPS cycling helmet, as The House was the only vendor I could find that stocked my size and color preference. I did call them to confirm the helmet was in stock, before placing my order.
Free shipping: the box arrived a day ahead of schedule.

Problem: Smith helmet proved to be not adjustable enough to fit me well. After contacting the Smith Optics folks to confirm that the fit was just not going to work for me, I returned it unused to The House, per their online instructions.

Within a week or so of sending it back, The House refunded my credit card charge.

I would not hesitate to order from The House again!

Not impressed from my experience

"This is my first time buying with The House, and I bought a snowboard. The website navigation and buying experience was good. My below-average rating is based on how the order followed through. First, I received an unusual follow-up request to confirm that I did in fact want my item shipped to a different address than the billing address. I had to call Customer Service to confirm. I guess I'm okay with that, but I've never had to do that anywhere else before. I assume shipping to a different address is pretty common. It required an extra phone call and time. No big deal. But I am mostly unhappy about what happened next. I never received an email that the item had shipped, even after several days. I thought that strange so I called Customer Service. Turns out, they didn't actually have the board I had ordered so the order was cancelled. Except no one informed me of that. It required a phone call to determine that's what happened. So two issues there: 1) Why is a customer able to buy an item that doesn't even exist in inventory? and 2) Some kind of notification should be given that the order was cancelled. A customer shouldn't have to trigger on that and call in to ask. So in my opinion, this was a case of poor inventory management and poor service/communication.

This is just my experience and why I gave two stars.
